Had to be out in this neck of the woods for something in the evening. So rather than sitting in Friday late afternoon traffic, I headed out early to get a little extra golf in. Was looking for cheap and easy, so a $9 12:07 deal time on Teeoff.com did the trick! Things were pretty loose as it wasn't super crowded, so they just kind of told me to head down to the first tee when ready. There was a threesome that just went off ahead of me, so two other singles and I joined up. Still, it was a fantastic pace and we finished in about 3:15. The course was in as good a shape as I would hope for here. Actually the tee boxes were generally good and the fairways were mostly quite nice. A tad shaggy to combat the heat, but pretty consistent coverage and always good lies. The primary rough areas were also more good than bad—getting worse the further you stray from the fairways. The greens were soft and slow. Pretty bumpy and also a lot of burnt out areas. They are getting set to aerate next week, so that should do them some good. The bunkers were terrible. Just hard-packed dirt in the two I found. Fine enough course, especially for a $9 deal. Nothing too exciting in terms of the layout, but enough to keep you slightly interested and decent playing conditions made it more worthwhile.

Played 6-7-15 early morning as a single on a golfnow deal for $18. Played in a little under 3 hours going through a foursome and a fivesome on the front side and playing behind a twosome with five holes left. Tee boxes were very shaggy and a little un-level. Fairways were in very nice shape with great lies. Rough was anything from dirt to 6 inches and thick. Avoided the sand traps but they all looked hard and crusty. Greens were very soft and very slow.For an early Sunday morning the price was right, would not pay there full rate.

Played 1/13/14, first one out at 7:00 am. Not as cold as I expected, guy in the Pro Shop said the Women's Club was going out as a modified shotgun on the back 9 at 8:00 so take my time, play a couple balls, whatever - took him at his word and never caught up with anyone , no one caught me either so I had the course to myself. POP would have been about 2:30, ended up at 3:30 with the extra play/practice.

Course is in OK shape. Fairways are a mix of dormant and green grass, rough is hit-or-miss (lost 2 balls JUST off the fairway in some absurdly thick stuff, others it was almost bare for 15-20 yards). Most tees were in decent shape though a couple were oddly sloped or crowned.

Greens were by far the best part - very few ball marks, a couple that had some damage (looked like someone hit a wedge from front of the 1st green), putts rolled well and consistently, speed was medium-fast. They're fairly small in size so accurate GIRs are at a premium - on the other hand, if you do hit the green you almost always have a decent putt for birdie.

Paid $14 + fee via GN, definitely worth the price at that rate.

I've never been in any real hurry to play here, but the timing seemed right today. With the most recent GK review being the most positive I've seen in awhile and a great online rate from ezlinks ($11 for noon tee time), it was finally time to give Seven Hills a shot. With it being Easter, I figured it wouldn't be too crowded out there, so I showed up extra early. The lady behind the counter was super nice and let me go out right away around 10:45 with another twosome. We passed a slow threesome on the second hole and then never saw anyone after that, so it was a nice 3 hour pace! Based on the reviews I've read in the past year or so, it definitely seems the course is starting to turn around. It still has a ways to go, but it was decent. The fairways are mostly green. Too shaggy in some areas and thin in others, but not bad. The rough was inconsistent. Some areas just bare hardpan and others (primarily around greens) where it was extremely deep and thick and you'd be lucky to find your ball in some of it. I was in one bunker and it was a little crusty, but playable. The tee boxes (white) were hit and miss. Some were very nice and others were pretty beat up and unlevel. The greens still need some work, but you can see the repairs they are making in places. Like the last reviewer said, some are pretty good and others are aren't, but it does seem things are moving in the right direction here. The course isn't anything too exciting, but it more than satisfied my craving for golf today. Winds through a residential area and is very flat overall. Pretty wide fairways and forgiving off the tee, but the greens are tiny and hard to hold. A good number of trees lining the course and will definitely hurt you if you spray your shots. I wouldn't go out of my way to play here again, but it's a good value and a good enough course if they can keep it in decent shape. For the excellent price I paid and the ease of getting out and around quickly, it was a steal of a deal.

I have been avoiding this course for the past few months but decided to return for a round to see if the conditions have improved. To my delight they have. The fairways are in much better shape well manicured. The rough can be rough at times - easy to lose your golfball if your not paying attention to the landing spot. The teeing ground
is generally OK - some good some not so good - The greens are recovering from a
brutal summer and vandalism but overall are very puttable and in generally good shape -there are a few bad ones - but the good outweighs the bad. The staff are always
excellent and friendly. Overall Score 8/10 -- Will start playing here more often - very enjoyable day.

Played this course for the 1st time in over a year...Yikes!!! What happened! Tee boxes are mostly dirt - Fairways are thin and very wet! Mud Bunkers and Half of every green is bare and the part that isn't Bare and dead have some fungus on them or are over grown and slow.

Very sad to see this course in this shape. I think Echo Hills on the other side of town that has been closed for over 5 yrs is in better condition. They should really think about closing up until this course turns around. What use to be a good deal Of $30 a round plus a meal to play here is now a joke. They shouldn't charge any more than $5 to play on this course.

Course is in HORRIBLE shape - Very sad day to see the condition of the course - The greens have been recently vandalized with a herbicide that has killed multiple areas on the greens - Dry brown and dead. The landscape staff drove over many greens with heavy mowers leaving wheel tracks up and down the greens - I have never in 40 yrs of golf seen anything like this.
This course has so much potential - but unfortunately they will be doing it without my money.

Played the course on 5/18/2012 - First off, the proshop staff are always courteous and attentive, 9/10. The driving range is adequate, mats with fairly well used balls - 6/10. The greens were recently aerated so some latitude can be given. A number of the greens had large
areas of fissures and dead hard pan so putting was difficult and variable at best - 3/10. The fairways were moderately bad shape some areas of dry hardpan and other areas that appeared over watered. Some fairways in good shape others very poor - 6/10. Course management was a little overbearing. The marshal routinely showed up, pulling up next to us while in play, accused us of cutting in front of a group at the turn (not true), then reminded us that the group ahead of us was a hole ahead (they were a twosome, we were a threesome) down right irritating. As a result the game started to turn south due to the constant feeling that we were on the clock and being follow - 2/10. Overall advise would be to pay for your round online at a cheaper rate don't pay the retail course rate. This course is definitely NOT worth the $45 you would pay in the am at regular rates. Overall rating = 5/10

First and for most Maggie, running the front desk was the most pleasant, nicest, happiest , informative lady to ever run a golf shop, ever. Now on to the course, our first time playing there on Sunday the 6th and knowing it was just punched and sanded on Monday. Its that time of the year to deal with a couple of weeks of punched greens but my buddy and I we re in disbelief on how much sand there was,no green just sand on a majority of the greens.Oh well , it still was a interesting layout and wide open,I ll be back in a few weeks.
