I am a pro golfer and let me tell you this is the best d%mn course in southern california. The staff is super friendly and the maintenance crew is very respectful of golfers needing silence to execute so they wait for you to hit. The maintenance crew works very hard on the course and it shows because this course in the best conditioned one i think i have ever played. I teed off at 12 today because I wanted to battle the wind, but if you go early you will most likely have calm conditions. If you really evaluate the design, you will see that this is a work of art. Great diversity of yardages and postage stamp greens make for a challenging golf experience. I play here all the time because it is worth my time and money and worth yours as well. Plus I know a tribal member so i pay 35 instead of 150. Tour quality facility and operation here must play!!!

Caught the twilight rate—more than worth the $75 to play here. ‘Manicured’ is the only term I can think of to describe the condition of this course. That’s mostly due to it being brand new. It’ll be interesting to see how it holds up after a few years of play. The fairways were close to immaculate as was the rough. The greens were unexpectantly slow but in excellent condition and true-rolling.

The layout is interesting and changes from hole to hole. Don’t even think of walking this course as the distance and elevation changes between holes can be daunting. Speaking of daunting, the 6th hole, which has been mentioned, might just steal you breath away. It’s the most severe elevation change that I’ve ever seen. You’re driving down to what seems to be an impossibly small and narrow target of a fairway with what seems to be a very long carry to get there and plenty of opportunity to overshoot it and kiss your ball goodbye.

This is a very challenging layout, which makes for generally slow play. Less skilled golfers might themselves quite exasperated with this course and you might find yourselves behind them. I would think in terms of bringing more golf balls than fewer.

In terms of customer service, the starter seemed to have bit of a time fitting me in as a single. Also as I made the turn, I passed the twosome that was in front of me who had stopped at the snack bar; I played 10, 11, 12 and still never saw them behind me. I don’t know if the service at the turn was that slow or if they stopped to have a long, leisurely break. Finally, as I finished my round more than an hour before sunset, I found the clubhouse was closed. I couldn’t enter my score into their SCGA computer. I guess the staff wanted to hit the tables early.

Journey is a great course and well manicured. Not worth 150.00 but we played twilight with little wind and payed 75.00...saw a bobcat on the 7th hole and it ran away. A must play if your in the area... Continue »

The only problem with this course is the price, $200. on weekends, but you get what you pay for. Played on sunday 2/15, the course was perfect in everyway eventhough it has been raining on and off for weeks. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food is great, as were the bloody marys. Try the golf package and you will get a room, breakfast buffet, a nice tee package and golf for two for less than the golf alone.

Played 12/11. Placed behind several groups competing in some skins tournament. 5:45 round, ridiculous. Marshall, at hole 6, informed us that he "strongly encouraged" the groups in front of us to speed it up. Went from 6:00 pace to 5:30 pace, guess not enough encouragement. Told Starter at the turn it was still too slow, no help. Beautiful course, but won't go back.
