I played this course on 3/4 with SCGA Outing. I've heard many nice things about the course, but to see and play it in person, it was an experience that did not disappoint. As soon as we drove into the parking lot, we were met with the staff who took our tagged and took our bags. Club house and the restaurant was equal to many high-end resorts, and the practice area was in one of the best shape I have seen anywhere - only thing was the driving range is a bit far needing a shuttle ride and with shotgun start, shuttle was somewhat infrequent but understandable given 90 people needing a ride. The course was in an imaculate shape with very challeging holes spread along the hillside. Most fairways are relatively tight needing accurate drives to avoid the water and barrancas. I really enjoyed several Native American cultural displays throughout the course with historical narratives given on the cart as you get to each holes. My only issue was that there were more than enough coots and ducks on some of the fairways, and I had tough time finding a spot to lay down my clubs without touching the droppings - they need some natural predators + few greens with what I thought was needless troughs in the middle of the green that didn't serve whole lot of purpose. Otherwise, it is a great course with beauful backdrops and hilltop views, especially if you can play it at less than their normal green fees which can be prohibitive for some.

I like the fact that the GC is unique. There are plenty of tracks were I only remember a hole or two. At this course you will remember every hole! Although some prefer a flat track, I like playing thru the mountains and elevation changes at Journey, I will never get bored with this GC.

Always wanted to play here so I came out for the noon $75 rate. I have two words to describe this layout, MICKEY MOUSE! The are only a few holes that resemble a golf course. The other 14 were forced into areas where they shouldnt have been. I shot 38 on the front from the black tees and was pretty happy considering the POOR GPS system they have. If you are a 15 hdcp or more then bring at LEAST a dozen extra balls because you will lose them. If you are a novice then I pitty you. I won't be back. They must have designed this place using brail. Corey Pavin shouldn't have put his name on this place. Lower the price to 45 and it would be worth the time.

We played on Saturday using the FB deal. Really tough course!! The customer service is by far THE BEST ever. You park your car and someone comes after you with a cart and picks up your bags and they're ready for you on a cart and everything when you're ready to tee off. Carts have GPS, ice chest with ice and bottles of water, towels and tees. Range balls are included. They have a great short game practice area. A few sandy bunkers that you can practice sand shot, a few putting greens. Our tee time was at 12:10pm and we barely finished our round. Sun went down around 4:30-5pm and when it starts going down its really cold, so prepare for that. A few holes you have to carry water and there were a few where you had to carry the terrain. I lost about 9 golf balls (to the water or the mountainside). Greens were SUPER fast, like you were putting on glass. Otherwise, GREAT course. I wouldn't pay the $200 that it costs to play, but for a deal like this weeked, you just couldn't pass it up. I'm surprised there weren't more people on the course and they were on time! There was a cart girl, I think she needs a new cart because it kept back firing, was pretty funny :)

I've never played this course and was able to get a tee time this weekend. So I'll be bringing extra golf balls and will be having fun!

Played Nov 1. I like the course and the staff, it was a solid 8 or 9 in my book. But the the price is too high for what you get. If you like to take photos of the Temecula area, then pay the price. Sandpiper has better views and is cheaper. The course has some nice looking holes, but you have to play this course many times to get a feel of where to hit it. The GPS is one of the best, but with all the elevation changes and twists and turns, you still have a challenge on picking the right club. The ninth hole has a big tree in the middle of the fairway (at) 290 yards off the blue tee. The Gps showed fairway to the left of it, but when I got to the ball just left of that tree it was rough. "The Rough" !! I like courses with rough. But this is a "Resort Course". Rough so deep you can't find your ball with a small search party. makes for slow play.
I will say the greens were smooth and fast. The practice area was top notch. And the service was great. But unless I hit the lottery I probably won't be back.

Played 6/10/10, in extreme weather conditions. Very windy, cloudy and cold, which made for a very challenging round. Not sure where to start...Condition of course is top shelf. Very interesting design, however, a few quirky holes which left me wondering what Arthur Hills was thinking. Will need to play again, hopefully in calm and warm conditions, to pass final judgement. Fairways and greens were near perfect. Several greens however, that are so severely sloped that 4 or 5 putts would not be out of the question, depending on pin placement. A few double doglegs which make sight lines from fairway to pin awkward and in some cases, even well placed shots to fairway, can leave near blind shot to green. Some very peculiar angles and slopes, and I am not a fan of including massive oak trees in the middle of a fairway (#'s 7 and 9). The trip around the course is enjoyable, which incorporates a 'lesson' about the Pechanga tribe through the GPS. Very scenic grounds with creeks and river in play on many holes. Give it a try, but play twilight or find a deal. It is worth the $75 twilight rate, but I would not spend $200 to play at prime time.
