Played on 4/12/13 around 8:30. Course was in very good condinion. Many improvements have been made since I last played it. Sand traps had good sand. Greens were a little slow and had "petals" from nearby trees on them; making putting more difficult. Overall, though I had a good time and would reccomend the course to others.

We even split a small bucket of range balls to try and warm up a little during the frost delay and the mats were frozen solid! Frost delay set us back a little, but we ended up second off the tee behind another twosome for a good pace on the front. They picked up another player on the 10th and the back nine was a little slower, but our overall pace was still nice under 3.5 hours.

Matt's comments about conditions are spot on. Pretty much dormant out there, which isn't too surprising this time of year. Not as pretty look at with everything mostly brown, but plenty playable tee to green. I was in plenty of bunkers and they were fine. Kind of a crunchy sand, but soft enough on the top level to play as normal. I enjoyed the layout and found it pretty tricky. Lots of tight fairways and tough doglegs. We played the whites because it was so cold, but this would be a beast from the tips at over 7000 yards with a lot of tough angles. Good deal for $33 on a Saturday morning, cart included!

Played this morning with GK'er sixpez. Had about a 30 minute frost delay with the temp being about 33° when we tee'd off. Course is a little rough and dormant but still played fairly well. Tee boxes were pretty uneven but was able to find a decent place to stand on all of them. Some were a little thin, some shaggy and par 3's were pretty chewed up. Fairways were thin for the most part but did have some lush area's but weeds growing all through them. Rough was very patchy being thick or thin or non existent. Bunkers were actually pretty good. A good amount of sand in all the ones I visited and weren't too wet even after yesterdays rain. Some did have some pretty big rocks in them though. Greens were soft rolling medium speed and higher shots held well. Greens had quite a few ball marks, a few had bare spots and made for some bumpy putts but nothing too bad. Overall I liked the layout even though some holes are pretty tight. I will be back sometime in the spring or summer to see if conditions improve then. For $33 on a Saturday morning it was well worth it.

Had a rounding on 2/18/12 morning as i was visiting the area. Had a frost delay for 30 minutes. Very cold in the morning. Customer service was good. Gave us a bucket of balls for free for the delay. There were many thin and bare spots on the fairways, and there was no water or lake on the course (they are dried up). But this is somewhat understandable for high desert during winter. Greens were dormant but ok. It was just very hard due to cold weather. For pace of play, my twosome was the first one out and we finished under 3.5 hours. So can't complaint. I will play Green Tree next time i'm in the area and do a comparison.

Played on 12/4/2011 in the afternoon and the course was nice. Pace of play was quick since there wasn't too many people out there. Payed $22 with cart and small bucket. They just got all new range balls which was a bonus. Tee boxes were good and a few had level issues with the roots (it's an old course). Fairways were nice and green. Rough was perfect, penal but easy to find your ball. Greens were good, and fast down hill with some of the tricky pin locations. Bunkers are great, I think they got new sand because it's much softer than before (unfortunately I got to test the sand out way too much). The new golf carts are always a plus and the $7 pitchers of beer. Great affordable golf is this places middle name.

Played 8/30/2011. Cost me $15 with cart at 1pm. Course was in a little better shape last month, but still not too bad. The rough is long which was nice, most courses have very little to no penalizing rough. It was nice to see a challenge. There was a few brown spotted fairways yet it has been 100+ degrees all week. The sand traps are perfect, not too soft yet easy to stick it close with a good swing. Tee boxes were nice but a little uneven at times due to the large tree roots (old course). Greens are fairly nice, they are little slow at times which is understandable especially considering the slope of a few of them. The new carts are nice too. This course and Apple Valley CC are the best public courses in the high desert by far.

Played after noon 8-24-11. Had heard things were improving so gave it a go. Not impressed. Lots of dead areas in the fairways.Sometimes hard to tell what was fairway and what was rough. Greens held well but were very slow for desert greens. Bunkers were hard packed and mostly pebbles. Great course but it has a long way to go to get back to what it should be. No GPS and only 100,150 and 200 markers on sides for distances. No markers in fairway or on sprinklers. I hope they can save this course but it reminds me of El Rancho Verde and we know what happened there.

Played Hesperia golf & country club on 1/17/2011 and it was great. It cost $22 with a cart at 11am. Pace of play was quick just under 4 hours. The course is getting better and better since July. It was a cow pasture for the last 6 years and it's nice to see it coming back to shape. The Bunkers have been renovating (weeds removed) and the fungus on the greens have been eliminated. All in all come play and keep the ball below the hole.
