Drove out to Hesperia yesterday as single about 7:40 with wife along to drive nice cart and call out gps distances. Course is so green couldn’t believe we were in the desert. Heavy watering on first few holes with abundant maintenance ongoing. Longer course had me finding 7 raked traps with damp heavy sand that all played well no footprints! Rough was being mowed about 1” longer than wide well groomed fairways. Watering limited rollout. Greens were nice fast pace early becoming very fast as warming. Bent grass held shots leaving mostly shallow dents with most being previously repaired. Was an enjoyable outing which began slowing the last few holes finishing 3hrs & 20 minutes. Temps low 70s to high 80s without any wind. 35 senior rate recommend if heat not excessive.

Played this past weekend, greens are smooth and the best in the area. Course is in fantastic shape overall, it gets better and better each time I play it. Best thing is for less than $50 bucks you really can't beat this historic track, it maybe a bit out your way but it is definitely worth the drive.

My favorite course in the IE, they have bentgrass greens which are fantastic, the course winds through many old/tall trees, it is an old fashioned layout, helps if you can work the ball both ways off the tee. It can play very long but has 4-5 sets of tees to choose from. I guess what i like about this course is very few houses along the fairways and no two holes are alike, they are all unique. The recently renovated the clubhouse and the bar/lounge is now very nice and the service is always friendly. For $40-50 bucks this is the best bang for your buck you will get in Socal!

Condition of the course is so much better than it was from when I played here pre-covid. Greens in particular. Fairways had good coverage, but there is not a lot of roll out, so the course played long. (Maybe I should consider moving up ?)

Pleasant setting. I prefer the old style courses, so I am a bit prejudice in that regard. Nice to play a "walker friendly" golf course. And yeah, I agree with the review from walter. "#18 is a beast" I'd play here more often, but it's a bit of a drive from OC.

Best course you can play for under $50. Greens were amazing, best I have played in a long time, quick and smooth and receptive. This is one of my favorite courses, a bit of a drive to get there but well worth it, especially price is well under $50 and the pace of play is always moving along pretty quickly, much faster then "down the hill" courses. This is a very old layout with huge trees and most of the holes curve one way or the other which puts a premium on driving the ball, but if you do miss the fairway you can usually find your ball and have a decent 2nd shot. #18 is a beast, one of the toughest finishing holes you will every play. The bar/restaurant has been completely renovated and came out great.

Played 5-8-21. Had an 8:30 tee time but it was backed up and got off around 8:45. Round took 5 plus hours. Waiting on every tee box and often in the fairway. Course is coming along with mostly green fairways. Greens are healing from being punched and were very slow. Usually downhill putts can easily run by the hole. Today you could hit them solid and come up short. Also they were not breaking as the would normally. Sand is more dirt than sand but playable. There are 2 lake areas that are dry and have been for about 3 years. They have the smallest putting green I have ever seen. If there are 4 people warming up you pretty much have to work at 1 hole. I keep hoping this course will come back to it's potetial but there is still a long way to go!

Walked the Blues (6756/71.8/126) in 4H early morning. 1 hour frost delay, it was a brisk 42 when we teed off, but warmed up into the high 50's by the end. Matched up with Mike and Joe, very friendly guys to play with. $28 Sr. rate to walk on a Sunday I thought was excellent. Old school (William F. Bell) Parkland layout that dates to 1957. Lots of mature trees, some washes and 18 good holes of golf. Mostly flat with many holes that slightly turn, but few true doglegs. Easily one of the better very mature course layouts that I have played for the first time in awhile. Hidden gem! While the layout was ++, the conditions were playable but far from pristine. Tees, Fairways and Rough were all winter thin and could use divot repair. This would be a fantastic course if it was over seeded. Only thing worth commenting on negatively were the traps, they were poor. Mud/dirt I could deal with. Every trap having hundreds of anything from pebbles to rocks large enough to skip on a pond was not. Old school greens. No tiers and they often dropped off to the sides. The putted MUCH better than they looked, lots of blotchy colors. They were spongy but still medium fast, and downhill was fast. More ball marks than their should be, and they held irons well. Busy range was off mats. Customer service outstanding. Called ahead and was advised about the frost delay. Given the Sr. rate and they got me out in the 3rd group. Friendly, on the ball starter. If I lived closer, this course would definitely be in my rotation. No on course services. It mentions on the card that the course record of 62 was set in the 1959 Hesperia Open, which believe it or not was a PGA event. Pics of Palmer, Snead, Player etc. Interesting that Hesperia in 1959 could have hosted the PGA Tour? Recommended, fun course.

Played here 4/28/20, first time. If traveling from south of the course, allow some extra time and take the 138 / 173 route rather than 15. Very enjoyable, scenic, sometimes very curvy route. Walked as single. Check-in was easy. I prepaid, so just had to let the starter know I was there, and off I went. All typical Covid19 precautions in place. Tees in good shape, flat and clean. Fairways were good to very good condition. Firm and decent roll out. Rough, as with most courses starting to re-open, was thick and penal. Greens were almost fully recovered from aeration, and were slow and a little bumpy. Bunkers full with sand, very good condition. Straightforward, classic layout. Nothing mysterious, nothing spectacular, but still a good challenge. Flags are in, with cups upside down, which allows ball to drop into hole, albeit only just enough to not have to reach into cup. Enjoyed the round. Good for walking, but I was exhausted by the time walking up the steep 18th fairway, in 90 degree heat.

Great old fashioned golf course, under new management as of late Sept and wow the improvements are amazing! The greens are back to being nice and smooth and quick, the fairways and roughs are mowed down to nice levels, the bunkers have all been renovated, and they actually have good range balls now and the golf shop is stocked nicely. I love this course and have played it from time to time for over 20 years and it is a gem. Lots of trees and many holes have slight doglegs and no hole is the same. Just a fantastic old layout. It can be challenging so if your gonna play the back tees be ready. #9 and #18 are two great holes, especially #18 a long uphill dogleg left par 4 to an elevated green.
