Played Sun 8.21.05. I read the recent postings regarding the condition of the greens and was a little hestitant about playing. The greens were in good shape regardless of the ball marks. The course has been doing something to help the green conditions as evident by the fact that the ball marks are repairable. A year ago the greens were such that a deep mark couldn't be repaired without tearing up the green adjacent to the mark, in effect doubling the size of the repair mark. Now a ball mark can easily be fixed without much trauma to the greens. Not that the greens are soft and slow. On the contrary, they still roll fast and firm. Give the course superintendent some time, he is making progress.

Got out on Sunday 14 Aug at 3:00 for twilight. Course was really slow and the marshall told us it was due to two tournaments going out that day. Ending up fixing 5 ball marks per green since we were always waiting on tee boxes and fairways. Course was in great shape otherwise.

I agree sparky. I used to play Sierra Lakes once a month a couple years ago. The ball marks damage was there then but nowhere as bad as it is now. With such a glaring problem that's been going on for years, you would think the course would have done something effective to address the problem. But it goes on and on and on and on. The greens are not very resilient to impacting golf balls, hardly anyone fixes their ball marks, and the course appears to not be making an extra effort to fix the ball marks themselves. It’s like nobody cares and its shame because Sierra Lakes is fantastic course but with the greens in the state they are in, it leaves a bad taste in peoples mouths. I know it’s costing them business because it’s kept me from the playing the course as often as I used to. I think they should have their marshals monitor the greens as much as they monitor pace of play. Have the marshals watch out for golfers not fixing their ball marks and then reprimand the golfers who don't.

Some greens look like a hailstorm will all the ballmarks. Overall, the course has gotten an "uncared for" appearance, and just a couple of years ago the conditions were fanstastic.

Still a decent bargain, but not worth an hour's drive from South OC.

Played Friday 7/15 @ 8:48A. OK pace. 4 3/4 hr. round. I definitely think the key to have faster round is to tee off by 8A otherwise- the hackers are everywhere. Pretty far to drive but a very nice course overall. Pretty lush. Nice fairways. Pretty good greens. Every green is undulated in one way or another. Very few straight putts. Wide fairways and greens so it is a very forgiving course. (Only lost one ball O.B. and I 'm a 95 golfer.) Overall highly recommended. The average golfer should score well here- only just make sure to tee off around 8 or else do not expect a fast round. Marshalls are pretty worthless here.

Played this course for the first time sunday 07/03/05. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens are still trying to recover from the many divots but the landscaping was kept up well. Had a tee time @ 2:00, and with my Donavan Daily coupons I was able to play with three other friends for just $29.00. Can't beat that price! Took about 5 hours to finish the round. Overall I would def. recomend the course to others and I'm going to try to get back out there and see If the bunkers don't eat my ball next time around.
