Played today 3/1. Was able to get out early, before the mens club. The course is in o.k. shape. The fairways are thin and brown, maybe dormaint ? but are playable, the greens were good as usual. Played in four hours so I was happy.

Played Saturday Nov. 29. Only played front 9 but there was a lot of water damage. Mostly fairways had soft spots and didn't roll very well. Greens are in good shape though. Shandin always has had great greens. Bunkers were hard packed but drying out.Shandin Hills is a slicers paradise and a hookers nightmare. A bad slice will at worst end up in the other fairway, hooks go onto the freeway or out of bounds.Its a bit noisy because of the proximity to the freeway so its hard to converse but its a constant so not distracting to the golf.

This is a really nice course. The holes play harder than you'd expect from the yardages. Course management is very important here - you want to choose the right line to the hole. Just a note on the bunkers: the sand is a lot finer and fluffier than the typical SoCal course, so you might want to spend extra time in the practice bunker before a round to get a feel for hitting out of it.

Played 10-11-08 7:30 tee time, course was a pleasant surprise, excelent condition...best buy in town at $36 on golf now!

Just wanted to note that even though Shandin Hills is not listed with an alert, they've been working on the greens again. They're quite sandy right now but much smoother than before, when they were quite bumpy. Tee boxes are in better shape than recently too. BTW, I played there today, Monday, May 19. They said they expect the greens to be in great shape within a week. Fairways are in pretty good shape, though this being the desert they can be hard, and the rough is about 1-3/4" along most fairways. Some are either a bit longer or a bit shorter, but generally most are around 1-3/4".

Greens were fast but very bumpy. They will be aerating in a few days so that is to be expected. Over all, the pace of play was very good and it was a beautiful day. Course was fun

Hello all!

This is one of the regular tracks we hit just to get around. Played it on the windiest day of this year (03/02/08), could have been ever! Conditions were what you expect for a value course. The round wasn't too long considering the wind scared away the normal weekend worriers. Overall the course conditions were nice, greens not to shabby (Meaning it rolled nice. Your ball doesn’t take a hop, skip, and a jump before it drops) fairways not dried out, tee boxes not to beat up. All in all if you just want to play 18 and work on your game, and not have to worry about spending your kid’s college tuition - This will work! Word to the wise as you know if you catch yourself on a nice Sunday expect to play a slow round.

Didnt go to this course expecting much except good greens, due to others reviews. Well still got disapointed, they were not good, long and bumpy. That might explain why i saw a greenskeeper drive across a green as a short cut. Huge disapointment, probably trying to get them flat. We played as a twosome. There really were not a lot of people on the course today. finished the frount nine in about 1:45 hours. Then the back nine. at the 12th hole we cought up to fivesome. If you know this course you know that you can see the whole back 9 from all holes. there were no groups in frount of the 5some all the way to 18. 2 of the players couldnt drive the ball over 185 yrds. Basically they wasted an extra hour of our day, with no thought of anyone behind them. A single joined us and another 2some stacked up by the time we hit 16 the whole back 9 had people waiting on all holes. No marshall to be seen. At the pro shop i asked the guy behind the desk where the marshall was, he asked why. I told him about the terriebly slow back 9, and he asked how long it took us and i told him 3.75 hours. He proceded to ask what the problum was then, that we finshed in good time and that is that. well ok then no problum i will not go back then, kinda recomend that you don't eighter. their attitudes suck and the aparently dont care about their patrons. Other than that the weather co-operated and it was just a little bit chilly.
