Played 11/14/2009. Chose primarily for the price ($28 for prime time Saturday). Never played this course before, however, member of my foursome, who had played the course many times, said it was not in as good condition as it used to be. Fairways are spotty (with several different kinds of grass) greens were bumpy, and did not roll well. The course is next to the 215 freeway and railroad tracks, so noisy most of the day. Course is fairly narrow, with some tree lined fairways, and parallel fariways, which means you get players crossing each other's path quite often. I don't think I'll return, however, always enjoy checking out new courses.

Course is almost perfect. We played Sunday around 10:00 and the course is in good shape. The greens are a little slow, because they were done about 2 weeks ago, but still rolled good. Next weekend ... Continue »

Course is almost perfect. We played Sunday around 10:00 and the course is in good shape. The greens are a little slow, because they were done about 2 weeks ago, but still rolled good. Next weekend should be perfect. The traps on the front are without sand. The back is a little better. The tees are just o.k. but you can find a good spot to hit from. The young pros in the pro shop are very helpful. Made you feel very welcome. The front Nine has a few elevation changes, which make it interesting, but very easy to walk. The price is very good even if you ride. GO PLAY THIS COURSE!!

First time trying out the course and I was impressed. This is a country club style layout with muni green fees. We walked the course under 4 1/2 hrs on sunday morning. The staff is very friendly and the cart girl is hot. The course plays fairly easy if you hit it straight from the tees.

Pros: well kept fairways and rough. friendly staff. good layout to walk. $37 to walk on weekend is a bargain for this type of condition.

cons: OMG, the greens were slooooow. i wish we get the speed of nearby El Rancho. it lacks the length for long hitters. we kept hitting our drives and 9 iron on almost every par-4s.

Verdict: Can't wait to try it again and see if we can shoot par next time.

The course is in very good shape for the most part. Lots of standing water, which means lots of gnats in those areas... no biggie. The greens were smooth, but very slow. Fairways and rough were nice. I really like the way they've let certain areas of rough get real long to make it play like a hazard, -that is if you can even find your ball. Makes it more interesting/challenging.
I've always liked the layout, but hated the noise. The course is right on the 215 freeway with railroad tracks running along the back edge of the back nine. Well worth the price though.

I first played this course around March-April 2009. It's now my "go to" course!

Initially, I was attracted by the modest green fees. Now having played a good number of courses in the Inland Empire, I would choose to play here over 90% of the other courses I've played. All of which have higher green fees.

I have become a regular at this course, consistently playing Shandin Hills 1-2 times per week. In all the time I've played the course conditions have been good and consistently so.

Most players are probably 20+ handicappers, but the pace of play is usually still reasonable. Never had a round exceed 4 hours except maybe once.


Bottom Line: Best Value in the Inland Empire. It's worth a round... or 10.

Played a twilight at this course yesterday, it was second time playing here. I played in the spring and the conditions were good then and I was surprised that they were actually good if not better yesterday considering the heat this summer, they have done a great job. This is a spot for the above 100 golfer so the pace of play is a bit slow at times which is to be expected considering the $12-$15 green fees. Overall I really enjoy the layout, its fair and can punish you if you are not hitting your drives straight, at times the course is narrow or cuts out the left side with trees and OB. Some tee boxes are a little slanted or beat up but it could be worse. As I said the average golfer is probably shooting 100-120 here so there is not much ball mark repair on the greens (when there are marks) and the fair ways can be hacked at times. I like the course still and look forward to catching another great tee time here.

I thought the course was in wonderful condition! The greens were very true and receptive to well struck shots. Generally I felt the course is being very well cared for, and given these tough economic times, where cutting costs becomes evident in maintainence reductions, that does not appear to be the case here. The staff was great. It is really nice to hear someone say "thanks for coming out to play". I have nothing negative to say, only that other courses should take a cue from Shandin Hills, both as to price and attitude.

Played 6/6/09 at 8am. Not to busy for a Saturday. Lots of 2 somes and 3 somes out. Played at a good pace. Fairways and Greens are very nice. Tee boxes are uneven and can use a little work. Sand is wet and hard looking but fluffy enough to get work done. The rough...oh the rough. 2nd cut is just fine, the third cut is just rediculous...12" plus. If you find your ball it is barely hitable. Overall I was very please with the round and very pleased with the course.
