played new year's day. the fairways were in decent shape (it's the middle of winter so i didn't expect them to be perfect). but, the greens were in spectacular shape. there had been a week of rain, so i wasn't shocked to see some standing water on the course. surprisingly, the bunkers were pretty fair considering all the recent rain. definately would like to play this course again.

Overall enjoyable golf experience for a short, inexpensive ($29 after 10:00 AM, cart included) inner-city golf course. Exceeded my expectations in most of the catagories rated by GREENSKEEPER. Nice grill and bar in Clubhouse. On a 0 to 10 scale I would rate the course a solid 7.

A good deal for the price. Nice course. Slow on the front, but really sped up on the back. Would definitely play again if it wasn't so far.

Played Aug. 5 Course is in good condition not great. Bothered by attitude in pro shop. We had a phamphlet from Escondido Visitors Center with prices on it and a $10 off coupon that I picked up two days before. The pro refused to honor it. Bad attitude! Too bad, not a bad course.

Really good layout, with many holes that have an interesting "twist". #2 has trees that split the fairway. #4 is a par 3 with a 2-3 club elevation drop. #8 is a tight downhills dogleg par 4 with w... Continue »

Really good layout, with many holes that have an interesting "twist". #2 has trees that split the fairway. #4 is a par 3 with a 2-3 club elevation drop. #8 is a tight downhills dogleg par 4 with water left and OB right. I wish they had kept #9 as a par 4 instead of making it into a relatively easy 470 par 5. The new green for the par 3 #14 plays faster than the other greens, and the bunker on that hole has deeper sand as well. #17 & #18 are really good finishing holes. Could use a little TLC on the fairways and greens. Greens were of a slow-to-medium speed. Rough isn't that high, but the ball tends to nestle down and disappear. Service in the pro shop was excellent, and the beverage cart came by a couple of times. Worth playing if you want a fairly tough but fair test of golf.

I agree with the previous post, from the champion tees number 13 is a bear and number 17 has disaster potential written all over would be great rounds! Good course for the money.

There were very good things about this course and very bad things today. BAD: NOT in very good shape at all. There was overgrown grass everywhere. It was lush but the grass was very ununiform and clumpy. Some of the greens where sick with brown patches. GOOD: A nice setting for a golf course. The course had a lot of variety like hard and easy holes, long and short holes, some water, narrow and wide open holes, uphill and downhill holes, and plenty of OB. The staff here was very nice. I had fun despite the poor condition of the course. In time I think conditions will get better (can't get much worse) in that there was a lot maintenance being done while I was playing. 13 is a long and tough par 5 where a PAR is a great score. (OB both sides of hole almost entire length!) 17 is another dangerous hole; a long par 4 with OB on left and a lateral hazard on right. Aim at the black and white stake in front of the big rock in middle of fairway! FORE!!!
