Played on 11/23 and the course was in better than average condition except for alot of bare spots in the rough. Greens are in excellent shape for a Muni. Plenty of sand in the trap BUT not raked by the golfer after they hit their shot. Pace of play was not bad, just over 4 hours. Worth the green fee.

Played today behind a shot gun women's tournament and still finished in about 4 1/4 hours. Most fairways were OK. Greens were excellent, rolled very smoothly and were on the soft side. The rough and traps were poor at best. Traps were more a mixture of dirt and sand. Rough was short with tons of bare spots. Staff was excellent. Saw the marshall as he was timing the ladies who really kept moving. Overall well worth the greens fee.

Greens were in excellent condition for a muni course. Used a Groupon and paid $20 for a cart and green fees. Not sure I would pay the $42 online tee time for a 9am slot, but definitely worth it for 20 bucks. Pace of play was average (4.5 hrs) and saw the cart girl only on the front nine.

Fun track with a decent layout. Would come back again.

This course has a great layout and the staff is second to none BUT, this course needs WATER BADLY. I have never understood why whoever leases this course has not concentrated on the fairways and greens ONLY and let the rest of the course become natural as God intended. If this staff would concentrate on the greens and fairways and let the rest just grow it would allow their maintenance crew to spend far more time on what would turn this place into a "Natural Gem". I can only imagine what this place would look like with carving fairways running through a natural setting. Doing this would allow the crew to spend ALL their time on the actual playing areas and attract golfers from all over the county. Let it grow and mow only the playing areas and you will see golfers flocking to this place. This place is a un-framed Picaso.

Never, ever again. I read the reviews and was really hoping to actually finish a round on a public golf course in California. I give up. The course condition is atrocious. Ball on dirt as often as grass. Now, to be honest, the staff was very nice, and the greens were smooth and true, but those cannot offset the minuses. Caught a trio on the second hole and waited the entire front nine. Still finished in about 2h 10m, but then we hit the wall. We were on a solid 3+hour back nine when I walked off after 13. This is the fifth time in three weekends I have left a course due to pace of play (add San Clement and San Juan Hills to the horrible pace club). I don't get the 5-6+ hour pace here. Venting, but it's really frustrating to spend a day standing, standing and standing versus actually playing golf.

Played on Friday 4/15 for $20 in the afternoon. Completely worth the green fee. The course is a little tight and is tricky if you have never played before. Do not expect anything spectacular as far as course condition, however the layout is nice. I would play again. The greens were still a little bumpy from the aeration but would have to guess they are in good condition now.

If they would simply water the course more and stop giving seniors insanely low rates then this would be one of the best courses in San Diego county hands down. I have played great courses all over this State (Torrey, Pebble and more) and this is one of the best layouts in so cal. Right now the greens are THE BEST in San Diego area. It's the fairways and rough where this course suffers. Some heat needs to be put on the City to maintain this great course and the effort will pay off.

Played on a Thursday which was also ladies day. 5+ hour round. Service was excellent as were the greens. Tee boxes were level but some had large bare spots. Rough was poor at best, very dry and many bare spots. Fairways were much like the rough, while I only saw a couple of sprayed drop areas some of them were mostly bare with some grass patches. Fairways were very dry. While the course is , for the most part flat, it has the potential to be challenging with many trees and some water.
