This new management has done wonders compared to the terrible management with American Golf. What's holding them back is the IDIOTS at the city management. This city just doesn't understand that a city course can generate big money if it's good enough. This is my second home course to Torrey Pines and my second favorite because of it's awesome design and layout. This course is a diamond in the rough and will straight kick your butt if you're not straight. 14 of 18 holes have water hazards that come into play. If this management would simply allow the natural growth to occur between each hole and put more attention to the edges of the fairways and the center portion of the course and greens they would be standing in line 10 deep to play here. Yes it would be tougher but more people would play here. I recommend this to any golfer out there. Just play the right tee's and you'll really enjoy this place. and THAT coming from a member of Torrey Pines.

We teed off Sunday at about 9:15 with a tee time booked on the Oceanside web site. This course has a really fun layout, but the conditions can be hit or miss. I was happy to see that the course is pretty green (especially the fairways and greens). It seems like the course is focusing its resources on the areas of the course where you SHOULD hit the ball. So, if you stray too far, expect to be hitting from uneven rough or hard pan. The greens are usually the best part of the course, but they had to keep them a little wetter and longer than usual due to the heat. They will be great when the weather settles down. Pace of play was good at a little under 4 1/2 hours. Customer service is always top notch, and today was no exception. I recommend playing here if you have the chance.

I went out and played on Tuesday, 7/17 at 4 pm as a single. My goal was really to just get in 18 holes before dark, and for $20 with cart you can't go wrong. I like the Oceanside Muni layout. There's nothing fancy out there, but there are some good holes and you get a little breeze because of where it sits in relation to the ocean.

The condition of the course leaves something to be desired. I typically give greens a pass when I play late in the day because they have taken a pounding all day, and that was the case here. They were still a bit spongy and bumpy, but I would imagine that earlier in the day they would be decent. The fairways, tee boxes and rough are not in good shape at all. I actually don't care much if rough on a course isn't in great shape, I mean, you're not supposed to hit it there right? It should be "rough"!!! But Oceanside's rough is almost non-existant, just dirt and mud. I only hit 5/14 fairways but I found that they were probably a 6 out of 10. Lots of areas that would be GUR.

I was really bummed to see the condition of the course struggling a bit. The people at Oceanside are nice, they have a really solid practice facility, and the layout can be fun. I'll be back for that price for sure, but I might struggle to pay full rate when there are some pretty good deals to be had around North County SD and Temecula.

Played here on 6/15 for the first time in two months and you get what you pay for. Greens did not appear to be mowed this morning, very bumpy and slow. Fairway still had aeration holes and lots of bare spots. More sand is needed in the traps. Very average conditions but what can you expect from a Muni.

Course is in great shape for Oceanside. Yes you will have bear spots and some bad hard pan in the rough but the fairways are green and lush and I had great lies on everyone o them that I was in. The greens were nice and fairly smooth for poa greens in the afternoon. Tee boxes are at least covered with grass and have very little divot damage. The traps need some Sand and were not very consistent, but I have seen them much worse. No cart girl but the dogs at the turn are great. Had the best experience with this course that I have had in many a year here. Remember though it is still Oceanside muni.

Played here on 4/16, are the greens are really bumpy and need another 2-3 weeks to heal from the aeration. Fairway are average with some bare spots. Also, they are aerating some of the fairway on the front nine. A few of the trap could use some more sand. Very average Muni, you get what you pay for.....

Played Oceanside today 4/5/12 the greens were aerated , so sand on the greens, but they were actually pretty smooth, they did a good job of smoothing the sand out so they were consistent. The course was good otherwise, lot's of wildlife around the course , a great time of year to play there, with all the seasonal birds, can't even start to name them all. That's the cool thing big grey birds, saw one catch a gopher.

The course is good, tee boxes are great and greens are great and have been for months now. Fairways are fair, as a lot of courses are doing now they are not giving a lot of attention to the fairways, but the recent rains have helped. Greens are not real challenging as far a difficulty, course is flat and mostly open, a few narrow fairways.
