Played on July 1. The course is in very nice shape, but I have to agree with the previous poster - the grounds crew was absolutely terrible. They really turned what would have been a great day playing golf into a frustrating experience for our foursome.
When we teed off, they were there in front of us on the riding mowers running their engines and glaring at us. When we were chipping on, they were there riding in circles around the green. At other holes I saw them watering the greens while others were putting, as well as dumping gravel during people's backswings. I had to check my swing twice when they kept darting in front of the t-box.
I explained the situation to PAUL in the pro shop, who aplologized and said that the superintendent would call me to get more specific information. It has been 7 days and I have not heard a thing. There are too many other nice courses around here to put up with this kind of atmosphere. Go to River Ridge instead.

The only real negative feedback during our group's visit was the constant work being done by the maintenance crew, causing huge distractions. It was almost as if WE were distracting THEM from their work. (ie. - Engines running, dumping off gravel into pits, watering of greens while you are playing, maintenance vehicles darting across fairways as you are teeing off...etc. the list goes on. In fact, I have to say that something distracting happened at almost every hole, and this is not an exaggeration.

Excellent job on the renovation. Some nice new twists to the original design. Hard but consistent greens. Course plays short as noted.

Greens are incredible hard and slow. Many of our shots would land short of the pin and bounce and run 20-30 feet past the pin.

Its a great short course that requires you to keep the ball in play. Definitely worth the green fee but try not to play on the weekend, the pace was very slow.

A truely great job of reworking this old course. I remember coming here over 50 years ago with my Dad and uncle. I love the new grass on the fairways an rough. The traps have real nice sand.

Played Friday 5/27 at 10:00. The course is in great shape. The changes made and the new grass on both greens and fairways make this a great little course. The fairweays rival Rustic canyon. The length, 6055 from the back tees are not long but 4 or 3 iron on a hand full of short par fours keep things interesting. Ther is also about a 3 inch rough and the greens have a lot of undulations. I highly recommend t all! A good walking course.

Nice course after redesigning. Not too difficult in terms or rating and slope, but it is a nice place to play to work on your mid-short iron game.

Great confidence builder, rewards the player with straight tee shots. Tree lined fairways can easily influence the scoring. Keep it straight and you'll really get a chance to hit some great approaches.

Greens and slow and hard since the re-design. A 90 yard sand wedge on a clean lie released about 10 feet on me, usually check up or spin back.

Played from the tips but was still pretty short, although the course does provide for you to make shots weather you need to draw/cut your tee shots. You can score very low if you are able to keep it in the fairways. The greens I felt did not roll very true but who knows, my eyes may have just been playing tricks on me. Overall, this course is worth the greens fee. P.S. great course to walk as well.

UPDATE: I just spoke to the pro shop guy (4/15 - 2:45pm) and they have CANCELLED the AERATION ..... it is TOO moist for them to do it properly. The gentleman was polite, and agreed I should have be... Continue »
