Finally played Beunaventura last Saturday. First time since they remodeled it. Nice course and was perfect weather for golf that day. Hardly any doglegs on the course at all so if you want to play somewhere that's fairly straight on most holes it's the place to go. Fairways and greens were in good shape. Only thing that bugged me was there are no white and red 150 and 100 yard markers. I hate looking for sprinkler heads to get yardage as that slows pace of play in my opinion. Definitely looking forward to playing there agina some time soon though.

Played Feb. 4th - the course continues to improve with the hard effort the staff is putting in. Believe the trend will continue and Buena fairways/greens will be fully restored in a reasonable amount of time. Remains a fun course that demands accurate, imaginative shots.

Played here for the first time on 1/6, and I must say that I was quite surprised in the condition of the course. I usually expect a course with $35 weekend green fees to have yellow grass and bumpy greens. Quite the opposite...grass was lush and very green. My only complaint at the time was that the fairways were cut at an inch high, but it was later explained to me that they are trying to grow in a different type of grass. When fully grown in they should be cut down to 1/2 or lower. This is a short course, but the lack of length is compensated by strategically placed bunkers. The bunkers are in great shape with plenty of sand and consistent throughout the entire course. If I lived in the Oxnard area I would play here quite often. Great for the short game, and big bang for your buck.

Played 12/28. We didn't have a tee time but they were able to start us on the back nine. Even though they've shortened the course, it still tok almost 2.5 hrs to play nine. Rain was threatening, so we stopped after 13. The fairways were in terrible shape! One of our partners, a local, said they are reseeding with sod, but it was amazing how poor the condition of the course was, considereing my buddy and I had just played it earlier in the year after the gand reopening. Shotmaker's track - short and fun. Worth the $$ if (and when) it comes back to life...

I love the new layout and the damage that was done due to the Summer heat is nearly healed. I thought the conditions were great, the fairways have come back, and the greens and tee boxes were perfect... Continue »

Excellent recent renovation. Fairways at times over-watered causing bare spots. Greens in good shape. Price competitive.

REALLY dissapointed in condition of course. This Mgmt Firm has been good in the past but the course has now been allowed to go to waste. Many, many bare areas right on the fairways!

Nicely refurbished course. Tough undulating greens. A little tight, with players in adjacent fairways. Grounds crews were everywhere (including in the way of golfers).
