If you have not yet played La Purisima, you have not played the best course in Southern California. Period. Plenty of tee boxes to keep everyone happy, and for you tough guys, get back to the tips, catch a little wind (normal after 11 AM or so on most days) and knock yourselves out. No better course layout or conditions in So Cal. Good elevations, great views, huge layout, terrific views. Just you and nature. Shop is great. Practice facility is great. Putting greens give you a true indication of what to expect from this level of par/slope rating. Bring every club in your bag, and get ready to hit all of them. Rewards shaping ability, especially off the tee. Just punched on July 5th, so give it a while.

Played mid-morning Jun 23. I've played a lot of the SoCal public and private courses, and this is, in my opinion, the best overall track. A pure golf experience in a terrific setting (with no homes on the course either). A straightforward course; one of the best layouts in Calif. No tricks or gimmicks. The course is in top shape, and the afternoon winds make it more than challenging. The greens are fast, smooth and fair. It's no wonder why the Tour qualifiers are held here - it's a tournament qualtiy experience. It's worth the drive and more.

Haven't played here for a few years - every bit as good as ever! Hard to believe that such a fantastic layout gets so little play. (38 people on the sheet for today) The only complaint I had was that they would not allow any tees times prior to 7am. (maintainence decision) Otherwise, just a wonderful way to test your game, and this course will test your game!

Course was fantastic. I walked up as a single and they put me right on in front of a tourament that was about to start. Great customer service!!!!!

Played this wonderful course on the 21st. They are currently aerating fairways (one at a time to avoid too many problems). Even with this the overall conditioning is terrific!

This is one of the toughest and finest courses in the state with hard to hit fairways and fast tricky greens. It says a lot about a course that you can love it while scoring high!

I can't say enough great things about this golf course. It's a gorgeous layout, a true test of golf, and the conditions are among the best I've seen anywhere. This is absolutely worth a drive from anywhere in Southern and Central California and should be on everyone's must-play list. This might be the best golf value in the state at $65 weekday with a cart. Greens rolled beautifully, the fairways weren't just immaculate, they were perfect. There's not a let-up hole or an easy shot anywhere on this course - come prepared to put your game to the test.

Tough, very very tough. This is a real challenge of a course. Bring your best game and check your ego at the 1st tee. If you play it smart and dont get to c%ck y you can shooot low here but as soon as you start thinking you can make that 1 out of 10 shot your done! Double Bogey time. The conditions are usually stellar and the route is really fun. Not an easy walk but a great course - Too bad it is in the middle of nowhere becuse I to would paly it every weekend. Bottom line is you have to give this a go its a reasonable green fee and a real treat to play.

Man, I love this course. I wish I lived next door and could just play golf here all the time.

Well, the course is great shape as always. The greens were nearly recovered when we were there, and by now, I'm sure they're perfect. The fairways are beautiful... a few spots had some divots probably left over from the Q school qualifying, because usually they were in spots that I can't hit it... HA! The sand is perfect, and the rough was great... fortunately cut back from where it probably was for Q school.

I hadn't been up there for a year, and didn't realize that they've changed they're free replay policy to $15. Still, the best golf for any price. Can you tell I like this place?
