Walked the blues with my buddy Ron in 3.5 hrs at 850am under hot conditions for Lompoc...finishing with temps around 88 degrees. Met by friendly pro shop staff, hit a few balls on their grass range and chipping area and were off right on time.

Wow wow wow if you like pure lush conditions you will love it out here. The best I have seen the course look in some time.

Greens were in beautiful shape, quick on downhillers, great consistent speed on flat and uphill putts. We spun a couple iron shots back so they were the perfect combination of receptive yet pure and quick putting wise. We had alot of #4 back pin placements today. Rating the greens a solid 9/10.

Best I have seen the fairways in a while here. Lush city everywhere in the 9/10 range. They are working on 10 Fairway by the 150 yd pole as that area is sandy from the recent rainstorm runoff.

Tees were all level, lush and in great shape. 9/10

Rough was very beautiful and thick, At first glance it might look benign but it has some good grab to it. Rough rating 9/10.

Was not in any bunkers but they all looked raked and beautiful.

There is a reason this is my favorite golf course. Great conditions, challenging, peaceful, never a POP issue and usually cooler weather. If you want to test yourself come out and play.

Can't recommend this one enough.

Played 1-30-26 early morning walking as a single in chilly weather that warmed up just a little by the time I was done. Tee boxes were in okay shape, mostly good coverage with some thin areas, and a few being a little uneven. Fairways were in nice shape, mostly green and lush with nice lies and decent roll out, with some minor small thin spot on a few. They are working on the end of the fairway on ten where the rains caused a little damage. Rough was in really good shape, 1-2 inches longer than fairways and very lush. Was in a couple of fairway bunkers that were firm packed sand, and one greenside bunker that had a good layer of heavy white sand. Greens were playing very nice, semi-firm, and rolling smooth at a medium/fast pace. Always a treat to get up here to play. Highly recommend.

Well maintained course with a great layout. The greens were particularly challenging. I recommend holing-out as much as possible. Every hole had fantastic vibes.

Overall course is in really good shape. Walked as a single early morning in under three hours in perfect 70 degree weather with very little wind. Greens rolling smooth and true at medium pace and playing a little on the soft side. Fairways were in great shape with minimal roll out(early morning) and great lies with good padding. Rough was playing 2-3 inches and in good condition but thick. Was in one greenside bunker that had nicely groomed heavy white sand. Tee boxes were level with good coverage. Highly recommend playing.

Played 6-19-25 as a foursome in carts, finishing in around 4 hours and forty five minutes on a crowded day. Each time I have played here recently the course seems to be in just a little better shape then the previous round. Tees, level, cut tight with good coverage. Fairways , real nice, great lies and decent roll out. Rough, 1-3 inches and semi-thick, great shape. Greenside bunkers, an ample amount of nice heavy white sand. Fairway bunkers, they seem to be letting some of them go, was told they might turn some of them into waste areas so you could grown your club, I think that's a good idea . Greens, rolling smooth at medium/fast pace and playing semi soft, in great shape. Love this course, highly recommend playing.

Rode the blues yesterday 6/19/2025 with my buddy RGM2525 under nice skies around 65 degrees and about a 2 club wind from hole 7 on. Pop was 4 hrs 40 minutes behind a packed tee sheet of golfers. Met by Stacy checking in and a real nice starter on 1 tee. The staff are great here. We hit a medium bucket on their all grass range and chipped and putted some before our tee time. Out right on time.

I don't think from tee to green I have ever seen the course nicer. Staff should really be commended.

Fairways were very lush and if anything couple of the fairways were overwatered. Rated 8.5/10

Tees were in good to great shape level and lush. Rated 8.5/10

Rough was in beautiful shape slightly higher than the lush Fairways. Rated 9/10

Greens were amazing. Saw the lines good today. Probably a 10.5 on the stimp. Very true perfect rolls. Rated 9/10

Was not in any sand but the bunkers were redone here recently and they looked amazing.

Deer running everywhere. Great lush course with rich history. One of the more challenging tracks you can find. We split the golf moose coupon which is a great deal for 2 players and they have a great replay rate.

Very much recommended.

Played 6-4-25 walking as a single early morning, finishing in a little under three hours. Tee boxes were in good shape, level with good coverage, and minimal divot damage on par threes. Fairways were in really good shape, lush with great lies, not much roll out on a damp morning. First cut of rough was cut fairly low and in good shape, out side that its gets a little long and nasty. Was in one greenside bunker that was in good shape with a thick layer of white sand. Greens were in real nice shape rolling smooth at a medium pace and playing semi-soft. Great peaceful course with a lot of wild life, a lot of deer with a bunch of new fawns. Overall great conditions , highly recommend playing .

If not for GDR23's review from Monday I would not have even thought about stopping here on my way home from Monterey. Thanks Gary. I have not played here since 2020 during Covid when the course was one of the first to open and stay open. I called in the AM before I left and they got me a time that would work just fine. Gary's review is what I expected and exactly what I found. But minus the wind and of course warmer given my time of play. A ball striker I am not (maybe occasionally) but he is correct for this course when it happens. I love the layout and especially the changes in elevation throughout. Truly a different experience than so many of our S CA courses layouts. And in all the time I have had the chance to play here I have never heard it calledLa Pirana but I can understand why. Highly recommended. Even if it is a long drive for most of us GKer's in S CA. A bucket list item for sure.

Rode the blues this morning 4/7/25 with my buddy Ron in 3 hrs 5 minutes passing a 4some on 12 tee and a 2some on 14 tee. Cooler start in the high 50s with a steady 10-15mph wind for most of the back nine. Met by Stacy in the proshop who is super friendly. Rolled a couple putts and we each hit about 10 warm up shots on there grass range. La P is in great shape with soft receptive greens that still rolled quick and were in great shape! Rated 8.5/10. Fairways were in very good shape with perfect green lush lies. I noticed 4 sand bottles in each cart which is great for repair and reseeding of divots. U can tell members take care of this course. Many of the fairways are undulating and can slope even well struck drives into the rough. Rated 8.5/10 My buddy stated they re-furbished all the bunkers in 2021 during covid with new sand and they are beautiful and contain the right amount of thick beach sand. Rated 8/10. Tees were mostly level and in good shape. Rated 7/10 Rough can be challenging and thick. It's in good shape. Rated 9/10. Layout is awesome and challenging here. 73 qualified for local us open qualifying here last year from a mix of blue/black tees. The front nine gives you a couple scoring opportunities whereas as hang on tight on the back nine. Lots of elevation changes, some doglegs, some carries required for tee shots. A ball strikers delight. The most amazing part of the course for me is the peace and quiet amongst rolling Vineyard hills. The camera comes out of the bag on top of 6 tee overlooking the whole property. If you want to test your game come play LA Pirana. Highly recommended!
