Greens are firm and rairly hold. Sand is rocky and mostly firm and easy to chip out but not blast. Greens are NOT level (challenge) sometimes difficult to read break and speed varies from very fast to almost slow. Some very unfair pin placements. Course should suggest that players over 15 SHOULD NOT play from the BLUE tees. Some blue tees require carry over environmental areas of 130 to 200 yards and players over 15 may loose many golf balls or spend too much time looking for them. Overall, good course. Need to add seed to divot mix to help keep fairways green.

Finally got a chance to play this course. Played with two high schoolers from Moorpark who helped me with their course knowledge. An absolute must to play! The course condition was awesome and definitely the closest to British Open-style that I've played. Surprising not as windy as I would have expected. It is imperative to play with someone with course knowledge or buy the yardage book. We played in a little over four hours...teed off at 1:45. Will definitely go back again...and again.

Course is in great shape. The fairways were excellent and the greens rolled great. The front nine was a little on the slow side as far as pace was concerned, but it really picked up nicely on the back. This course can't be beat when you take the price and the quality of the course into account.

The greens are what makes this course fun to play. The putts, chips and pitches are very challenging. You need to play it several times to learn how to deal with the challenge of the greens.

Well, as promised (see my comments on Los Robles last week), I played Rustic on the 12th. Ok, now THIS is a golf course. Hard, fast and fun (I rolled a 3 wood onto the 13th green to 20 feet, and just missed the eagle.). The greens kicked my butt today. Couldn't make anything... no really... 42 putts– a 3 putt clinic. Nice, eh?

The fairways are perfect, the sand was nice, the greens were smooth, the wind was down, and it was a perfect weather day.

This is a great place to play golf (well, I'm not so sure I call what I did on Monday "playing golf", but you know what I mean...)!
