Played 1/28. When I lived in SB I played here once a week. The course is still a fun track to play. The greens were great, the fairways were firm and the traps were good. Pace of play was outstanding for a Friday. Even though some of the holes are gimmicky, this course is on my top 5 list of places to play. The GM Rich is a great dude and the rest of the staff is courteous and friendly. They have special discounts if you host a tourney there. Overall I had a great time and played pretty well. I hope to make it back sometime this year.

Played 12/5. Tee'd off at 130 pm and walked off 18 at 500 pm. The cart path only rule only applies to #1 and #10. The greens, fairways and rough are pristine. You would never know they overseeded and punched the greens a month ago. As of Dec 1. the price is back to $275 a round. It is well worth the fee based on the course, the staff and the surroundings. It is truly a great place to spend a day. Luckily I live 5 miles away so I plan to spend many a day out there.

I just moved to this side of town two weeks ago. I played Trump for the first time on 11/5. Tee'd off at 9 am as a single and played the round in approx. 3 hours. Even though they had recently aerated the greens they were surprisingly smooth and rolling true. The fairways, rough, traps, tee boxes and greens were all in superb shape. I play a rotation of the whites, blues and black tees. The black tees are no joke. The blue tees are good for anyone with an 18 hdcp or lower. The white tees were almost too easy as 3 par 4's were drive-able. The weather was great, the staff is unbelievable, and the restaurant is top of the line. If you don't want to spend a lot on food, the grill has a really good hot dog! Right now the fees are $150 to play and its cart path only, but when you have an ocean view on every hole, its not that big of a deal to walk out to your ball. The GPS in the carts is great and each sprinkler is marked with yardages to the front, middle and back of the greens. I will definitely be back again before the rates go back to $275. I would have to say that this course is tied with Monarch Beach and Angeles National as my favorite in SoCal.

Played 1/10. Tee'd off at 925 am. The round took just about 4 hours. Would have been a lot faster but the group in front of us was playing some high stakes golf and they lined up every 4 in. putt. Luckily they were all pretty good so they didnt kill the momentum too bad. The fairways are dormant but the greens are nice and rolling fairly true. This was my first round of 2009 and the other two guys I was with had never played here before so we had a very good time. The winds were brutal on the first 5 or six holes but after that it was back to normal sunny, Ventura conditions.

Played 7/15. Walked on as a single at 400 pm and finished all 18 holes by 745 pm. The course was fairly empty and I actually didn't catch up to anyone in front of me until the 8th hole. Everyone was gracious enough to allow me to pass through and I never had to join up with another group. The course was in great shape and the weather was hot but not unbearable. My one contention is that it is hard as heck to get the greens to hold your approach. Numerous times I landed within 5 ft. of the hole but due to the greens my ball ended up 20-25 ft. away. For a long hitter, I forgot how much wasteland comes into play. It seems that every hole there was some sort of wasteland in my landing area around 300 yds. out. The GPS is spot on but I still hit driver when I should've been hitting a 5 wood or hybrid. Once you play this course once it really allows you to understand where you need to be off the tee and where you are going to get into trouble.

This was my second time playing here and I improved from an 89 the first time out about 6 mos. ago to an 82 yesterday, which included 5 shots OB!

This is a fun course and for $50 twilight you really can't beat it. I know Brookside is $35 for the same time slot but you will be lucky to get 12 holes in before darkness there, while at ANGC you will invariably always get 18 in my dark. I would recommend this course to everyone and GK is right, it does have the best playing conditions in LA Co.

Played 6/28 with my wife. The course was in great shape, fairways were lush and the greens were running true. The only downside was that it took 5:25 to play 18. The two groups in front of us were all beginners so they hacked around the course and had no idea what they were doing. I dont know about you but I would not be dropping $250 for my first 18 hole course. I complained to the clubhouse and they were gracious enough to comp us 2 greens fees in the future for our troubles.

Other than that it was a great day and my wife and I played very well. I shot a 76, she shot a 95. It was nice to be out in the sun at the nicest resort in the OC. I will definitely play here again.

Played supertwilight with my wife on 6/22 and managed to get in 18 holes in a little over 2 hrs; not bad considering we were stuck behind a group of hacks for the final 8 holes. Course is nothing to write home about, although it gives you the opportunity to work on your short game. The best thing about this course is the view of the LA Basin.

My wife enjoys this course a lot because it gives her the confidence she needs to take her game to the next level. All of the holes are in reach for her, she has some margin for error on the front nine, and the greens are average speed at best. Since we moved to La Crescenta a few months ago we have tried to play here every other Sunday evening in preparation for her law firm's tournament this coming Saturday at Monarch Beach. We are the two time defending champs, do mostly in part to our handicaps. (I am an 8, she is a 27)

Another week, another $8 nine hole adventure. Each week it seems as if the greens are getting worse and the fairways are getting slower. I played with 2 guys from Cincy and I had to keep reassuring them that courses in SoCal cannot be judged on this course alone. All they did was complain about everything, but I had to remind them that A) it's a LA Muni and B) it only cost them $8!!! This place is great for practice and a little exercise. I try to play shots, clubs, etc. that I would never try normally, so I can feel more comfortable using them when it "counts". If you live in the Glendale, or surrounding area, Griffith Park is a great place to spend very little and work on your game.

Played the super twilight rate of $8 and barely got in 9 holes by sundown. Personally, I like the Wilson course more than the Harding course at Griffith Park. There are a lot of trees that hug the right side of the tee boxes which made it hard for me to play my normal fade. You can't beat the price here, even if the course isn't in the best of shape. The fairways are average at best, the tee boxes leave something to be desired, but the greens are in pretty good shape. I also played the best hole of my life on number 6, a par 5, 576 yd. beast of a hole. I drove it roughly 310 yds. to the middle of the fairway and then I proceeded to hit a 21 degree hybrid 265 yds. to about 4 feet. I sank the putt and walk away with a nice little EAGLE!! My new goal is to get out to Griffith Park once a week after work and play nine holes. For the price and the convenience you can't beat it if you live or work in the Glendale area. The only thing about this course that I hate is the fact that the starter is an absolute bitter Bob, Johnny too cool! He is very condescending and he acts like you are such a waste of his time. So beware, he can put you in a bad mood before you even strike a ball. I would love to hit a hooded 7 iron through that window and shake him up a bit! LOL

Played nine holes for the super twilight rate of $8. You can't beat this deal anywhere in the LA metro area. I played by myself and was able to finish the round in 1:30. It would have been faster but I had never played the Wilson course so it took me awhile to get my bearings. The course is in pretty good condition considering the amount of hacks that walk that course daily! The greens were receptive, the sand traps seemed soft (I was never in one), the fairways were ok and the tee boxes were functional. I think I will make a habit of playing here every Tuesday after work. The course itself isn't very tough. I played from the tips and was a sultry +2 on the front. There are an inordinate amount of trees so I would advise you to stay in the fairway. I saw a lot of people in the forest searching for lost balls. All in all, a quality place to play if you are looking to have a cheap, relaxing 9 holes of golf.

Played on the 4th of July. Actually wasn't too backed up and my wife and I played in just over 2 hours. This course is fairly straightforward, as there is not much undulation or trickery to the course. If you have any skill you can tear this course apart. I have played here 3 times and haven't shot worse than 3 over par. A couple of the greens are driveable and the greens are as straight as they come. If you are looking for a cheap, nine hole round of golf, then Penmar is definitely the place to be. And if you are a beginner this is a good course to get your feet wet. Just watch out for me if you are out there because I will hit into you if you take too long! LOL

Walked on as a single and was able to play alone. Round was just under 3 hours. I played my own pace and did not have to wait for anyone. It was a great day and if you can get off of work on a weekday then make the day trip up to S.B. and enjoy Glen Annie. It's the best course in town!
