Made a time and played Sunday at noon based mostly on what I've read on Greenskeeper. My son and I were paired up with two guys who hit a small bucket on each shot. By the end of the second hole we were a complete hole behind. I called the club house with my cell and requested a marshall, I asked the girl in the snack cart to call it in, I pointed out to the guys over and over that we were way behind...no marshall ever came. The group behind was probably pissed too...they stopped after 9. The condition was fine but already showing signs of abuse by idiots that can't or won't fix their ball marks. But that's pretty much the way it is on every course. $140.00 for 2 players, never saw a marshall, no course directory. Shot 40/41, saw a hawk fly off with a pretty good size snake but that's about it. Rustic Canyons??? we don't see what the big deal is.

This is a "love it or hate it" type course. I love it, but others in my foresome didn't feel the same way. But it is different! Nice to have the opportunity to place some "kinks style" golf on occass... Continue »

Rustic is getting healthy again. It's playing much better than 7-8 weeks ago.

The fairways don't seem to have the fungus they had awhile ago, the greens are recovering from aeration, everything seems in very good shape.

Greens are still a bit slower and softer than they should be, but with this weather it should be pretty darn quick by Friday.

Very nice day and place. Even the count of ballmarks on the greens is down.

Started on the back 9 for the first time while crews worked on the front for the morning, walked in 4:15 in a foursome.

Very good job by the greenskeeper and staff.

A great course. The greens were punched at the end of september and they are rolling true and fast now(10-17). Fairways are in great shape compared to all other courses in the area. Great staff!!

My second time out to Rustic Canyon and certainly not my last. Greens are recovering very nicely from aeration though they're still a bit slow. Fairways are in outstanding shape (saw a young rattlesnake on #9) and the aprons are looking good and rolling pretty smoothly. This is just a superb golf course that needs another two weeks to heal completely from the aeration of greens and tee boxes.

greens are coming back beautifully. frankly, i am amazed. yeah, there are few crispy spots on the fairways and in the rough, but this course is never going to be perfectly manicured, nor should it be. it's not augusta. to me part of the charm is drawing a wildhair lie every now and then. it is called RUSTIC canyon afterall.
