What a great course, well worth the green fee. The greens were lightning fast and smooth and held well. They putted consistantly, speed wise from green to green. As an out of state visitor, this will make my list of great courses to come back to.

I live in moorpark, but never get out to Rustic since my regular game is up north and it is do darn tough to get a tee time on the weekend there. But I played and it was in nice shape, the biggest concern is in the areas of rough, which there isn't much there, you just get some horrid lies because the patches of grass as so clumpy. However, the fairways are so wide, that it sn't that big of a deal as you shouldn't be there anyways. The greens and fringes were nice and firm, somewhat speedy, but a real test of the short game as always. Touch is a must.

Highly worth the green fee... I will say the fairways and tee bozes were especially lush, more than I remember... so many perfect lies in the fairway.

Greens rock hard and fast today(2/5), tough pin placements, staff needs to water fairways and greens as there was a big change even within the last two weeks. Lot of people on the course today.

I WAS VERY PLEASED TO SEE AFTER THE LOCAL DEVESTATING FIRE IN NOVEMBER THAT SURROUNDED AND EVEN INVADED THE GOLF COURSE THAT IT WAS IN GREAT SHAPE AND IS STILL THE BEST COURSE REGARDLESS OF THE FEE IN THE L. A. VENTURA AREA. NOW IF THEY COULD ONLY GET REAL OUTHOUSES ON THE COURSE.

Finally played this course. Mix feelings. For the price, this is a tremendous value. Greens good not great, challenging with the different tiers, fairways great, tee boxes good to very good. sand traps- packed and gravel. Layout is great for this course. The course is recovering from perimeter fire damage and lack of rain. This course could easily be a 8.25 rating. Just give it some more time. Looking foward in going back.

Played on Monday 1/22. The more and more I play this course I realize how much better of a nine the back nine is. The front is probably an eaiser nine if you don't hook the ball OB on the first 3 holes but the back nine design is way better.

Anyway-course report was that some of the fairways are starting to look and feel a little bit thinner and dry compared to a couple weeks ago when the fairways were looking good. (Keep them watered and maintained please rustic staff) The greens on this course are great(few divots on 4.8,15 all par 3's) and it is what I really come here for. Boy they are tricky to putt and go up and down from(depending on where they put the pins) but they roll true and for the most part hold shots pretty well. The tee boxes are in good shape and the pace of play is pretty good during the week. Staff are great in the pro shop. This is a course if you walk you will get a workout.

Got in another round a week after my last. Course conditions were relatively the same. It seems as if there is a good effort by some people to fix the ball marks of others on the greens, but the people who play here still need to get better. The fairways are really in great shape. The course was pretty dry because of the high winds the day before and thus it played pretty hard and fast. As I mentioned last week, the sand traps are pretty much a crapshot, but if I would just avoid them, I wouldn't need to worry about them. The course is in really nice shape right now and I recommend it as always.
