Played my "farewell to CA" round today at Rustic and thoroughly enjoyed it (and happened to play one of the better rounds of golf I've played in some time, which was a nice sendoff). It's a phenomenal golf course in excellent condition. The fairways are just top-notch right now. They might be as lush as you'll find anywhere in this part of So Cal. Greens are running nicely, though noticeably slower than they have been in the past, and there's a definite, and unfortunate, increase in unrepaired ball marks on many holes. The rough here is still patchy in places and offers many uneven, sometimes nearly impossible lies, so stay the heck out of it! It can be hard to remember that approach shots here are going to bounce and release more often than not... but there's a good chance you'll have more fun if you keep that in mind.

Enjoy Rustic. It's a true gem, and a course I will miss a lot.

Played this afternoon (Tue 1/2/07). Keep up the good work boys, course is as nice as I have seen in a while. Greens were runnning smooth, I still had to replace many fresh divots,come on people-putting is scoring. I was most impressed with the improvements on fairways, they are greener and thicker than they have been. Pace of play was good today and there were some tough pin placements out there today.

First things first, this is a great course. Definitly not for the begining golfer, but with a little shot control its lots of fun. It was pretty windy today so it was bit more challenging. This is my first time playing here and It was all I expected. The greens are in great condition. They're huge and go up and down, side to side. I can't say that there are many flat spots on the greens. The only bad part was the GPS system. It didnt start to work until the 3rd hole and wasn't very accurate with the yardage. I would say like a +or- 60yd tolerance. Still I had a good game. I will be seeing much more of this course in the future.

One thing is a must!!!!!! check www.weather.com or call the pro shop for an update on the wind!!!

Played 12/24 - third group out, blue tees. Great golf experience requiring a completely different playing strategy from most other courses. Only downer was 20-25mph winds on the back nine that twice blew my ball off the green and threw a 10yd flop shot back at my feet. I'm definitely planning to play here again - hopefully under less windy conditions.

Played right before noon on 12/27/06. It was windy and downright cold, but still enjoyable. The course was in very good shape from my point of view. Greens were in good shape with minor damage from unrepaired marks (way less than usual). The fairways were nice and surprisingly dry considering the downpoor that occured the night before. The rough was pretty darn short all over the course, and the traps are what they are, which is to say a complete crapshoot depending on where its located. Pace of play was good and the cart girl came by 4 times during the round to help all of us load up on coffee (like I said, it was cold). Another enjoyable round at Rustic.

RC is in excellent condition. Its by far in the best shape of any course in SC. A bargin to play if you can get a tee time.

Great service. Great condition. Fringe areas a little beatup, but not too bad. A bit pricey, but has made my short list of favorites. Would definately play there again.
