Played on Friday, 10/9. We made a last minute tee time at 1:27 for $22 through their phone app. I usually play early morning and to see how it is in the afternoon is an eye opener. We pulled up to the starter booth (handles both courses) and found 7 carts (12 golfers) waiting while 4 "starters" try to figure it out. We thought we lucked when they sent them all to the Palm course until we arrived at our tee and found 2 other groups waiting. I saw a 6some (yes, 6) teeing off on #2. Told the marshal when we saw him on #2, but he said he never saw them. Called the pro shop when we got to #10 and saw the 6 putting out on 11. Finally sent someone out to break them up. We finally finished 5 hours later, playing 18 in complete darkness.

Outside the pace and lack of control by the "marshal," the course was in great condition. Mountain completed their re-seeding (tee to green, including the rough) and is off the Cart Path Only restrictions. Tee boxes were mostly damage free except the Par 3s, which were also uneven. Fairways were fantastic, with only a few spots were they are having trouble with the new grass (#10, #17). Rough was at least 2", and thick around the greens. Bunkers were ok, 1 was perfect, the other one I was in was hard packed. Greens were medium fast, but some unrepaired ball marks.

Overall, $22 was a great deal, the course is in great condition after re-seeding, but I'll avoid twilight if I can.

Played Wednesday, 8/12, with a 7:22 tee time as a 2some. It was a late decision to play and found a great "red tag" sale for $24 each. Pace was unbelievable. Checked in at the starter a few minutes early and was sent out to the 1st tee where a 2some was teeing off. After they left the 1st green, we never saw them again. A single played through at 4, then it seemed like the course was all ours except for the occasional group on a parallel fairway. Finished in 3:10 and the parking lot was still pretty empty.

Course conditions were pretty good. Tee boxes were in great shape. Fairways were pretty good, but there were 4 or 5 holes with some thin, browned out areas and a few were soggy. Rough varied from thick and gnarly to thin and hard packed. Sand looked average. Greens were in terrific shape, smooth and on the fast side with some unrepaired ball marks.

Overall, an absolute steal at $24. If you can wait for a tee time, they reduce all the prices as the day gets closer.

Played on Saturday, 7-25, with a 6:30ish tee time as a single and paid $30 with the OB Card. As usual, bag was picked up at the car and check in was fast. Starter put me a group ahead of my time with 2 locals. Pace was unbelievably slow for an early start which resulted in the 2some in front of us quitting at 10. Picked up a little bit on the back but still finished in about 4:15, waiting on a 2some (in separate carts!) on many shots. Marshal came around once and didn't move anyone. The snack shack at #6/#15 didn't open until after 8 and didn't see the drink cart until we made the turn. They have remodeled the driving range and put down a new mat that takes regular tees. Nice improvement, but it only allows a high tee ball unless you have short or broken tees. Practice green was in great condition and was running a bit faster than the course. Conditions were really good. They had the white tees with the blues all day (about 6200 vs 5800) which may have caused the slow down in play. Tee boxes were level, freshly mowed, and very little damage. Fairways were mostly lush, with a few dried out brown areas scattered about. The rough was around 2 inches, but the thickness varied throughout the course. Bunkers were the best I've seen them in awhile, pretty fluffy compared to the hardpacked sand over the last few months. Greens were in great shape. They were pretty smooth, but were running slower than usual. Overall, terrific conditions for $30 on a weekend morning.

This is a pretty fun course. Up front, I want to tell you that most of the holes are driver, wedge or short iron so it won't tax your game management. That being said the conditions were incredible.... Continue »

This is a pretty fun course. Up front, I want to tell you that most of the holes are driver, wedge or short iron so it won't tax your game management. That being said the conditions were incredible. The fairways were lush and green, the tee boxes for the most part had plenty of well kept areas to tee your ball, and the greens rolled true and were receptive. The greens were a little on the slower side but definitely not sluggish, just not quite as quick as I had anticipated. All in all, it was a fun track to play and I would play it again for the right price. The pace of play was good, I got around it in just under 3 hours although I was a single going out at 7:30 on a Friday morning. Definitely one to consider if you are visiting Las Vegas and want to play a course that you will enjoy on your vacation.

Played Friday, 5/29, with John_T and paired with 2 locals at 6:52a. Teed off just a few minutes late and just pushed through a 4.5 hour round, which is slow for such an early time. AP adjusts their app/online rates during the week, with some tee times dropping over $10. We were able to pick up a $24 rate with the OB card, against a posted rate of $35.

Tee boxes were placed in level areas and seemed a little fuller than usual. Fairways were phenomenal. Lush, carpet like, and the best I've seen them. Rough was nasty and thick, 2-4 inches in most spots. The 2 greenside bunkers I was in were hard packed and I chipped out like it has hardpan, however, my playing partners made some explosive shots out of them. The greens were mixed having been aerated 10 days ago. A handful showed the effects but most were smooth and medium speed.

Customer service was pretty good. Drink cart passed by 3 times and there were fresh water out on a warm morning. Driving range has new mats. Can't beat the price for a really good course.

Played Saturday, 4/25, as the 3rd group out at 6:15. Bag picked up in the lot, fast check in, and straight to the 1st tee. OB card rate of $55. Pace was quick, but as a 2some, it seemed as if we kept pushing the 3 in front of us. However, we finished in under 3:30.

Course conditions have been consistent all spring. Level tees, lush fairways, and about 2 inch rough. It seems like they are trying to improve the bunkers, which have been hard packed. Today, sand was good, but wet underneath due to the early morning. The greens were softer than their normal firmness. For having only 6 people in front of us, there were plenty of unrepaired ball marks. They still were smooth and medium/fast.

No major changes over the last month. They did remove the netting along the 9th and 18th fairway which would stop balls from rolling into the water. No houses, except for condos on the 12th tee, and an isolated feel in the middle of a busy area.

Played 3/15 at 7:15. Temp in the 60/70's, light winds.

Haven't played the Mountain since last fall. Course is in very nice shape.

Front side greens were somewhat bumpy, while back side greens were quite smooth (? -- it's not like the front side is in a different time zone than the back side). Greens were relatively slow (around 9 it seemed) which is fair because the nearby mountains affect the putting a lot.

Fairways and rough were great, bunkers were soft and tees were generally good. This course gets a lot of play. Both the Mountain and the Palm are really good right now -- recommended if you are coming to town for Hoops Tournament. But make your tee times early, as the town is going to be really busy the next couple of weeks.

Shout out to the weekend starter Joey -- he's the best at moving people out of the staging area and a good guy.

Played Thursday 3/5 as the 1st part of a birthday doubleheader. I used my OB Card's free birthday round, current card rate is $49. We had a 7:00a tee time, but at check in we found there was a frost delay on Mountain until 7:30 and we would be the 2nd group out. We hit the driving range (mats, with half the bays covered) and the large putting green. Checked in with the starter, who sent us to the 1st tee right at 7:30. Originally paired up with another 2some, but they seemed to want to play alone, so we split off after a couple of holes, and finished 18 in under 3.5 hours. Course was empty at the start, so the frost delay didn't slow us down. I have played Mountain a few times in the last month and the conditions have been gradually improving each round. I guess the rain over the last week have helped. Tee boxes were mostly leveled and relatively divot free. They have moved the boxes around and it showed. Fairways were lush, with few (if any) thin spots. The rough has been in the 1-2 inch range, but was a quite a bit longer (don't know if they haven't cut it due to the rain or if this how it will be). Greens were the best I've seen. Smooth and quick, and a little softer than normal. The bunkers were the low point, thin and hard packed. The rakes barely left a mark. Overall, very enjoyable. The coots were gone, which has benefited the greens (especially #2). Definitely worth the card rate, but it's peak season in Vegas right now. Customer service was good as usual. Drink cart was around a few times on the back, and the snack bar at 6/14 was open.

Played Mountain twice over the last 12 days since they have come out of reseed and off of "Cart Path Only." Customer service is always the same. Bags get picked up in the parking lot, friendly check in, great cart guys, and a starter who is easily frazzled.

We went out 2nd on a Sunday, paired up behind a foursome and finished in just over 3 1/2 hours. Friday is a whole different beast. Parking lot was pretty empty for a 8am tee time, but range is full and check in was out the pro shop doors. Apparently it's "rental Friday," with a lot of vacation groups coming in. While I was in line, they had 2 large groups getting 16 sets. Staff handled it like champs. Starter got us to the tee box early, and we were joined by a late running 2some. We finished in just over 4 hours, right on the course's posted pace of 4:20.

Conditions have been great since the tee to green (including rough) reseed. Tee boxes are mostly level, but a few had the markers placed near the edges, causing weird stances if that's where you like to tee. Rough varied from 1 to 3 inches, with the ball sitting way down in the longer stuff. Bunkers were wet and muddy in the morning, #4 has a lot of rocks from the desert run off. Fairways were great. Some damage from equipment (tire tracks) on #9, and some thin spots on 10 and 12, but the rye has grown in almost all the areas. Greens were phenomenal! Best I have ever seen them. Really fast on Friday after medium-fast the previous Sunday. While fast, they held shots and I didn't see a decent shot bounce through.

Paid $49 on Friday, $55 on Sunday with the OB Card, and it's peak season right now. Course was in great shape and worth the price we paid.
