Played Sunday 5/22, 12:30pm. 1st time playing here and weather cooperated. Little wind but not too bad. Course had good layout with good conditions. Although busy, pace of play also good at around 4 hours. However, didn't particularly like the greens. I thought they were a little slow and bumpy. Overall, it's a good course but I didn't feel it's that different from other good courses in So Cal. Worth the drive to play if you get a good deal or stay and play package at Terrible.

If you miss these courses you miss the best near Vegas. Well worth the short drive from downtown. I have played nearly all the best courses in Vegas. These two courses are among the very best of the best. The smartest way to play this cousre is to aim for the middle of the greens and BELOW the hole. Greens are normally fast and shots above the hole will sometimes result in three putts. Terribles has pretty good packages as well. This is a course you will recommend to your friends and be happy you made the short drive. Bring your camera cuz this place is awesome.

Badputt and I played the Lakes on Monday, 4/19/10. We had a 8:20 tee time but were able to start sooner as they paired us up with another couple. The course was very green and some small areas were soaked. The weather was mixed that morning as we started out cloudy and chilly, then the sun came out, then the jackets were put on as it sprinkled on us for a couple minutes. The course was not that difficult but we managed to make it harder than it was-ha! Very pretty with lots of rabbits hopping around--I guess they are living the high-life in this desert oasis. I had received a free 2 night stay at Primm with one complimentary round of golf, so we took them up on it but didn't like the $110 additional player fee for a Monday--should have looked for a discount before we left home! It was a nice course but look for discounts before you come out!

Nice, very comfortable layout, but only a few great holes; condition was fantastic; although the course is fairly close to the freeway, only 2 holes feel like you're close to anything other than the beautiful course; not an overwhelming design, very playable. I enjoyed it and will be back, but for me it's a good course, just not a great one.

What the hell happened to one of my favorite golf destinations? Primm ,Lakes or Desert courses are really messed up right now. The desert is closed till 9/11, under repair, can be viewed from the Lakes course which I played 9/2. The practice green was the first thing ya notice, spots or chunks missing, dead grass, holes. Never seen this before. Fairways on the Lakes,, dead areas, dirt in a LOT of areas, greens on Lakes course bumpy, holes from who knows what, no straight line putts even from 2 feet. Breaks my heart. The desert is to open 9/11 or so, we saw the desert course.. its freaking worse... Staff was as usual first rate, they were kinda embarresed, we asked what happened, they did not respond. Its cheap right now,, $85 for 2 nights stay at Prim and one round of golf,,, shoulda known something was wrong. Used to be MGM property, if the Herbst Boys who are the new owners are gonna make Primm Valley a stand alone financial entity the Lakes and Desert courses are history. Wont be back till someone advises it is repaired. They should know there are casinos and Golf courses in Palm Springs area, very nice ones.. Oh, by the way, Primm Hotel is also getting to be a bigger dump, never was much but its going backwards. We were asked to stay a 3rd night for $10,, no thank you... A very sad trip. Used to go 4 or 5 times a year. No more.

Round number 2. Played lakes course right after i played desert course. Course is totally different from each other. Lakes course tends to be more of a championship style course compared to a desert type. Greens on the lakes course was a little smoother, but desert course greens were still pretty good. IT seems like they're was more people that made tee times on the lakes, but i didnt think it was better than the desert. I actually think they're actually equal.It depends on what type of course you want to play. Both has great views, both has a great layout, and conditions were pretty good for being middle of summer. I really enjoyed the risk reward holes on lakes course, makes you think alittle more. Customer service is also great here. With rates this low, i dont know why not many people are playing here.

With the exception of the greens being a little bumpy on certain holes, this course is in excellent shape. Tee boxes, rough, sand traps and fairways were all beautiful.

The Lakes gets alot more play than The Desert, but I don't know why. Maybe the afternoon wind makes the Desert side much tougher and scares away players? -Not sure, because the Desert is much more fun and scenic. Not to take anything away from The Lakes though, because it is a top track also.

You can't go wrong at either course. This is a top-notch facility with an excellent staff all around.

Played 6/24. Scored way less than the temp of 100. Course is great shape and plays very well. Staff friendly and helpful. Great place to play on way into or out of Las Vegas.
