Found a hot deal time for last Friday $42 after 15% promo code. I booked it before itslikeimsaying played his round but noticed some Instagram posts showing better conditions. It was worth a shot. I was very happy to see Marks's pictures and decent review. They are putting money into the lakes course and it shows. Visually the entire course looks fantastic. Blue tees were fine and solid coverage on every box. Par 3's a little chewed as usual but I was also late in the day. Fairways had good coverage throughout the course and was cut short which allowed extra roll. Even cut short the cushion was nice to hot from. As Mark noted there was poop on one of the holes which is from the wild donkeys that roam the desert. Keep an eye out on the right side of the freeway near the brake check area before coming down the mountain to the course and you will see them. Rough was longer than I have been use to playing and the ball sat down a bit. Even though it sat I don't believe it was that penal. Around the edges of the course the rough would have some bare spots but nothing really in play. Greens were very very slow. A few looked like they were redone in areas and while all the putts were smooth it just took a little extra oomf to get the putts to the hole. They did receive shots well and even allowed checks but just too slow. I was in 4 sand traps and all of them needed sand. I talked to the cart guys and that is the next item on the list that ownership is going to work on before attacking the Desert course. The POP was very slow as the course had a full tee sheet. We finished just around 5 hours which had I not been able to sneak out 1 hour early, I would have been close to not being able to finish. I am happy that this course is getting a little love as its a fantastic layout nicknamed Shadow (creek) Light. This being the cheapest Fazio course probably in the West it worth a play. PS They are hoping to have the desert course back to nice shape by summer. As of friday it is still in bad shape except for the greens which look fantastic.

Played here Monday 11/6 with a 10:00 "Deal" time from TeeOff.com. Starter asked if I was ready around 9:20 and said I could start by myself. Caught a twosome ahead after a few holes but they were quick and I just hung back and took lots of pics. Total POP was around 3 hours 25 minutes.

Conditions are good and seem vastly improved from some reports I'd heard in the last year or so. Despite the improvement, the greens are still the low point. (Or maybe the bunkers.) The greens seem immature with a thin layer of grass on top of a very sandy base. When fixing certain ball marks, it felt like the whole green was about to disintegrate. They rolled pretty smooth at medium to medium-slow pace. Well-struck shots stopped quickly. Fairways were great with only minimal areas that need some attention. The rough varied from really lush in spots to a little thinner and drier in others. Blue tee boxes were good. I was only in one bunker (for two shots). The first area was clumpy and then the next was total hardpan. Other bunkers looked better though.

The course looks gorgeous right now! Because the greens still need some time, the course actually looks better than it plays. Definitely recommended at deal prices. Full rack not so much until the greens get a little better.

Weirdly, one fairway seemed to have a bunch of horse poop on it. Are there wild horses in that area?

Played on Sunday, 5/23 with a local monthly tournament. Staff was great and ready with the carts prepped and a couple bottles of water in the cooler. We just needed to load and go.

Played on Sunday, 5/23 with a local monthly tournament. Staff was great and ready with the carts prepped and a couple bottles of water in the cooler. We just needed to load and go.

Driving range is huge with all grass stations. Large chipping and bunker area with 2 greens. The putting green was in horrible shape with a large area of hardpan dirt, which was premonition of things to come.

The tournament was a shotgun start and we got to our hole to find the tee box sprinklers in full force. Staff was cutting the hole before us and stopped the mower and looked, but when i raised my arms and pointed to the sprinkler he just moved on. We teed off while trying to avoid the sprinklers, which did not go well for some of us.

I can say the tee boxes were mostly lush and the holes you can see from the cool patio area, over looking the 16 tee, look great. The fairways, especially 2 and 3, were in bad shape, with large areas of dead/dirt. Bunkers had a very thin layer of sand before hard dirt. Many of the holes had areas of just hardpan dirt, mostly along the fringe, however, 14 had a large area on the front of the green, which is where they placed the hole. Many putts just bumped and bounced and were very inconsistent.

Right now, I could not recommend this course unless you're paying some discount rates.

Played on Friday, March 26 using the Golf Moose deal for $129 for two with a free same day replay. And with the $25 gift certificate I picked up at a GK event made the deal deal even more sweeter.
Check in was smooth and easy and we teed off as a twosome right on time with a pace of 3.5 hours.
Course is in ok of shape and is coming out of winter conditions.
Tees - In good shape, the par 3 tees could use some work.
Fairways are good, but have a few thin spots. Good lies most of the round.
Rough - not very penalizing and is coming out of dormancy.
Bunkers - in good shape with rakes and very well maintained.
Greens - were more of a brownish/green. Rolled medium fast with a few bumps here and there. There are spots of diseased areas along the fringes and looks like they are trying to get them fixed. The greens aren't healing very fast as you can see multiple old hole locations on every green. Uphill putts are very slow and downhill was lightening.
This course is one of two on the property and gets the most play, but they put a lot of effort into this course to keep it somewhat nice.

Played Primm - Lakes on the way out to our 8 man golf outing on Thursday 3/11. The course is right on the CA/NV line so it helps to break up the pretty long drive to Mesquite from Riverside. We had a 1:00pm tee time and we thought we knew what we were in for with the weather........we were wrong.

When we arrived, the sky was getting black. We could see in the distance that things were about to get ugly. There was no one at the course (everyone else was smarter than we were) so they actually asked us which course we wanted to play. Our tee time was for the Desert course but the nice lady that came to take our bags actually told us that we should play the Lakes course since it was in better condition. We really appreciated that.

As soon as we hit the first tee, it started to hail/snow quite hard. It was definitely a first for everyone in our group being from SoCal. We were all in agreement that we were playing so off we went. The course actually turned white. It was a pretty awesome sight. The afternoon actually turned out to be pretty decent. We got a mix of rain and a little sunshine but we had a good time.

As for the course, all in our group had nothing bad to say about the conditions of the course. If you are just driving by on the 15 fwy, you would have no idea that there was such incredible courses inside that giant dirt bank.

The fairways were in great condition. They were obviously a little soggy from all the weather they were having but that was to be expected. The coverage was great although there were a few bare spots. Nothing at all to complain about.

The greens were in pretty decent shape as well. There were a few rough areas but for the most part, they putted really well. It was pretty crazy to putt the first few greens with snow and hail on them. The ball actually picks up the snow and gets bigger as it rolls. We had a lot of fun with that.

I was in one greenside bunker and it was in great shape. Very easy to hit out of. It was wet/heavy sand but it was easy to tell that if these bunkers were not so wet, they would be outstanding.

The layout of this course is a lot of fun. There are tons of trees and a good amount of bunkers and water areas/features. It is a very flat course but it does not have that feel of going down and back and playing the same holes over again.

I would highly recommend this course if you are in the area. Everyone in our group really enjoyed it and 4 of them actually stopped to play it again on their way home on Sunday. I would have done the same but I needed to get home. Great day even with the crazy weather and we will definitely be back to this facility on our next Mesquite outing.

Both courses are also very rough around the edges—weeds, patches of dead grass, bunkers without much sand, tee boxes are not level. The conditioning doesn’t match the outstanding layout. But i suppose the price reflects that. The lakes course also has a lot of trees, which is fairly unique for desert golf. because the greens are in bad shape in the desert course, the lakes course is getting a disproportionate amount of play.

The course was in great condition as always, the staff was incredible and we had the best time playing the course with little to no wind (huge difference!)

This may become an annual thing for us!!!

Played Primm Valley (Lakes) for the second time this past Friday when driving home from a work trip in Las Vegas. Got out a bit early as the guy in the pro shop gave me the twilight rate with cart of $55, which is totally worth it for this fun course, even with re-seeding just a week or so away so they're letting it dry out a bit. Just an FYI, but the Desert course (which I wanted to play since I hadn't before) is currently closed during re-seeding. Should be open in a few weeks when they close down the Lakes course. As for the course itself, well you can imagine that just a week or so before major maintenance that they've let it go a good bit, but it's still remarkably playable. There are a lot of dried out areas in the fairways and they're certainly not a dark, lush green, but most lies were more than okay and not a problem to hit from at any time. The rough is a little thicker and greener right now and not penal. Bunkers were okay at this point and the tee boxes are a little bit beat up but nothing too terrible. Greens were actually still in good shape for the most part, but there were many with large sections cut out of them ahead of the maintenance. They ran a bit slower than usual according to my local playing partner that I paired up with at the first tee, but I still found that they rolled quite true and held shots predominantly well. Good enough for the circumstances for sure. Layout is a super cool one with many interesting holes, lots of risk-reward opportunities and no two holes exactly alike. I like the variety of the par 3s and the par 5s are quite fun to play as well. You can score well here for sure, but you can also get in a lot of trouble. Oh hey, that sounds like golf. I would definitely call ahead though to make sure that this or the other course are in play right now as aeration season begins. But if you do make it out, it's still a fun day under the sun. And one last thing if Johnny is reading this review - Primm is in California, not Nevada!

Played on Thursday, 8/9 with a 7:10 tee time with Famed02 and a buddy from work. Paid residents rate of $45, guys ahead of me paid $69 each, Elite cardholder paid $35.

Course is in OK shape. Tee boxes were pretty good. Fairways were showing some damage from monsoon rains and some recent punching, with some in good shape and a handful in bad shape (18 was destroyed, all mud). Rough was ok. Sand looked good, but had a thin layer of fluffy then hard packed. Greens were hit and miss. I would say about 80% of the surfaces were great, smooth, and very receptive to shots, however, there were some bare patches, mostly along the edges.

Service was great. Pro shop opens around 30 minutes before 1st tee, about 6:30. Grill opens at 7, but no drink cart that day so we ordered and she drove our breakfast burritos out to us.

Definitely bring some bug repellent. Mosquitoes ate us alive, pro shop guy gave us his OFF can for the back 9 but the damage had been done.

I liked the course, would liked it more for $35 considering the shape of it. Plenty of tee times available, heard they were only expecting 20 golfers on Thursday.
