This will be tough,I rated the course as "great" and the conditions and service were great,however, there is no rating for "interesting" there is no rating for, oh, maybe "toughness". Ledges opened in March 06. They let the course sit for an extra 6 months to mature. This is one of the nicest looking tracks I ever stepped on. Green and greener grass,lake you can see the bottom of in the center. Fairways sooo wide you think its funny, ya, on the front 9 you cant miss the fairway,I tried, impossible. Front 9 is boring, flat, wanted to know why the hell I spent my $100 on line green fee for this beautiful but boring regular muni layout. AND, while its no ones fault they are building houses and roads and who knows what else very close by,very noisy. THEN you turn to the back nine, go up the mountain and are looking at some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see, a state park never to be wrecked, you soon forget the front and get your camera out. Back nine is tougher more interesting and its weird but we all played better. Greens are wonderful, fast and faster, and its a challenge as you cant figure out what the breaks are. Sooo,, I am glad I played the Ledges, I know it is there to go private ASAP and I am happy to have seen the back 9 scenery. But, unless I got a deal, I wont be back. I get tired of paying for very rich and super upscale clubhouses. You would have to go far to see a better clubhouse,Think PGA Beaumont and up the cost double. But it will make a fine private course,the members will insist the front be changed.
