First round of our road trip to glacier national park from southern Idaho. I was torn between playing here or at Coeur D'Alene but after reading reviews and seeing that this was the top rated public course in the state we pulled the trigger on a stay and play for $269 for a night and two golfers. Hotel was nice and had a decent size casino. The golf club is on the other side of the parking lot built on 600+ acres. Check in was very smooth and the staff was very friendly especially the starter who was giving us all kinds of tips and had funny stories while we waited for our time. We were 5th out and POP was just over 4 hours but felt faster than that.

This course is beautiful with rolling hills and elevation changes throughout the course . Most flat areas between holes were boardwalk type bridges over the marshes. The front nine is a little more flat and open with the back being more in the trees and more elevation changes.

Conditions were top notch this day. The course is owned by the Indians and has no water restrictions in affect. Fairways were green and had mower stripes that made it look beautiful. They were a touch longer than normal said the starter because of this record heat wave of 100+ days. Balls still rolled out fine and had nice cushion under them for approach shots. Greens were fast and smooth providing a nice surface to putt on. I recommend not being above the hole. Another tip was to play tom the front of the green as getting a ball to check was not the easiest task unless you really spin the ball. Rough was penal but fair to hit from maybe an extra club to get out. Tee's and bunkers were fine I was not in the traps all day but playing partners said they were fine.

I really enjoyed this course and would play here often if I lived within 2 hours of it. It also help I tied my personal best score playing here but that doesn't effect ratings :)
