Played the padre course on tuesday with a member teeing off on a hot humid day around 7. This was the first time ever playing this course and enjoyed most of the course. The member did tell me the ambiente course was the better course out of the 2. I wish I was able to play that also but there were no times available and from the looks from the padre side it looks more links style while the padre is more parkland.
The course itself is not too difficult in the fact that everything is right in front of you. There are no real forced carries and no real trouble other than some water that comes into play. The tee boxes were all level and there were no divot damage at all. Fairways were perfect there was minimal brown spots and the ones that had bare spots were roped off and getting watered. Binkers were nice and fluffy and easy to control. The only bad part of the course were the greens. There was no damage to them of anything, it was just that they were very bumpy and extremely slow. The member was even complaining that the greens were too slow.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and when I come back to scottsdale area I will put this course in my rotation.

I played Padre late afternoon on 6/29 for a rate of $39 including range balls and 4 bottles of water. Not much play going on so pace of play wasn’t an issue. Customer service was great with employees engaging and friendly. Carts have a nice GPS system and a cooler. I’m glad they gave water bottles because drinking water was scarce on the course.
The course was in ok shape overall. The greens were tricky and a bit on the crusty side. Any approach shots left zero ball marks and did run out a little bit. A couple of my approaches actually rolled off the green because of the slope. They also had a lot of break and hard to get a gauge on what they wanted to do especially as the round went on.
Fairways were just ok with some bare crusty spots. Around the greens were especially dry. Tee boxes were fine for the most part.
I’m glad I played the course but not sure I’ll be back this summer.

Played Easter Sunday, afternoon 4pm for $39. As I was hoping very few groups out there. Starting with the Tee Boxes, very nice, level, maintained. The positioning of the tee boxes does not add difficulty to the course. Fairways were very nice, good lie's out there for you in the short stuff, got up to 30 yards of roll. Off the Fairway there is usually rough, mostly dirt and mud with patches of grass here. The desert areas were well manicured which helped with the visual aspects this course is lacking in other areas. Sand looked good, well manicured, I did not get to test the sand on this day however. Greens were colorful but furry. Very slow and did not roll with consistency. Held shots consistently. Staff was professional and accommodating.

Played Feb 26. Course was in good shape. Greens putted true and were fairly fast. Rough was dead but no bare spots. Very nice people work here. Seems like all the traps I've been in this winter are all the same. A thin layer of soft sand on top so you think a blast shot will work. But then there's hard wet sand underneath and the club keeps bouncing up into the ball. This is the second time I have played here since the remodel. I still miss many of the old holes like 9 and 18. The course is half old parkland style and half new resort style. There are better courses to play.

Great customer service. Other than that, not much to write home about. Fairways have far to many sparse/bare landing areas, greens were the bumpiest I've ever played (ever see a ball pop up 3" on a 6' putt?). Almost impossible to find more than tufts of grass in the fairways, bare areas were either loamy or hard, making shot selection challenging at best.

Played 10/15. $55+tx included practice balls. Padre course is 6903 yard Par 72 from the back Tees. Rating 72.3, Slope 131. It has a nice mix of holes. More of a traditional style course, with tree-lined fairways. Seven holes have water hazards on them. Course was pretty good for being a week from over seed. Rye grass is on the Tee boxes, Fairways & greens. It will be better once the grass matures. Fairways were lush, but soft. They should firm up a bit in the coming weeks. The greens rolled smooth and true, but were soft & slow. (I had to change the weights out of my putter & make it heavier for the slow greens.) The rough will stay Bermuda grass. It will go dormant as the weather gets cooler. Currently the new golf carts don't have GPS on them. They did say they will be adding GPS to them. Practice facility is very nice. The staff was pleasant & helpful. Bev cart made it around to us 4 times. Submitting a few photos.
