Happy New Year. Played January 1, 2011. Very quiet, we had a time of 1026, teed off at 1015, never saw anyone in front of us until the 18th hole. $50 all in. Considering the amount of play this course gets, I have always found it to be in very good condition. The only negative is the bunkers, there are a lot of rocks in the bunkers, and they are usually very hard, today it was no different. I don't think that will ever change. The greens were in very good shape and ran medium/fast. They tend to be firm but will hold a shot. Fairways were lush. Customer service is very good, they appreciate you playing there and tell you so. We saw the cart girl frequently, perhaps because the course was nearly empty. I always play Foothills when I'm here. I suppose many people (including a reviewer from Golf Digest) don't like it for some reason, but as I say I like it and our group always plays it at least once when in the area.

No need to intimidate you out here, just good conditions and fair golf that is a challenge for virtually all but the scratch or plus handicapper.

Pace was ok and course was just a few days past cart path only for overseeding. Played with a twosome who received a free lunch along with their $49 green fee, I paid $49 but didn't get the lunch. When i inquired i was told to contact the manager the next day, the problem was i live in Vegas and was leaving that night. I asked for a wet towel when i got my cart and was told he only had one and that was for his clubs, NICE!!!!!!!!! i WILL FIND A DIFFERENT COURSE NEXT TIME I'M IN TOWN.

Why do I return here? Another e-mail enticing me to play 18 holes for $18, and even 20% off that because I'm a "Eagle" cardholder. Oh by the way, it's cartpath only on the front nine because they're laying sod. They are ALWAYS laying more sod, or sod has just been planted, or whatever. Landing areas are wide, and they need to be to try and miss all the torn up land. What isn't torn up is dry and patchy, as they aren't watering where they are working. The green are in very poor shape: dry, hard and confusing, and the areas surrounding the greens are mostly dead grass. Traps were in terrible shape--hard, impossible to explode out of. At leas their tee boxes were in good shape, but it's all downhill from there. I think I've written this same review for three years in a row--I can assure you there won't be a fourth.

Played 5/6. They ran a week day email special. $39 includes green fee, cart, range balls & lunch. Tough to give a fair review of the course at this time. It seems to be in transition. Trying to let the rye grass die off & getting the bermuda to grow. Watering the hot spots. It's cut very short all around the course. Greens have been aerated with small pin holes. Putting on them was fine. Running about 11. Service was good. Would play it again to see how it plays when it's in better condition. Course has one drawback. Driving Range has artificial turf to hit from. Submitting Photos.

Played March 2. Course in good shape. Nice, interesting layout. A lot of elevation change. The club house is on a hill, you play down then back up. The course goes through houses, but they are unobtrusive. This is a desert course with fairly wide fairways. I've played here many times and always enjoyed it.

Played Dec. 30/09. Eagle rate $39 with lunch, so a very good rate. I've played this course many times before, and it is always a challenge. The course seems to play fairly long, even though the yardage is not! We played Club West just down the road, and the yardage/rating/slope is very similar, however Foothills seems much longer and tougher! It was in good shape for this time of year, it hasn't been a good "growing" season yet. Greens were firm, medium speed, fair, although I certainly didn't putt well at all, and there were very few bare spots. Fairways were good, with some/few bare spots. Rough was fairly lush, with some bare spots depending on what rough you were in. Shot placement is fairly important here, in order to access the pins. At times it is wiser not to go for the pin, as the greens are well guarded by bunkers, which were/are well maintained. Staff were very good. I think that this is a course worth playing at any time, and you can usually get a very good rate.

Disappointing. I'd been told by another player that the fairways were in bad shape, but I thought he was just exaggerating. Sadly, if anything, he underplayed it. Large pieces of sod everywhere; you'd hit a perfect fairway shot and watch it bounce 15-20 yards to the left or right. There was a "curb" of sod around most greens, which were lightning fast, very dry and barren in many, many spots. When I got to the 18th tee and stepped up to a perfect tee box area, it made me realize just how thin the previous 17 holes were. Even with the aggressive internet specials they are running right now, I cannot recommend this course.
