Played 8/18/2014. Short update from review last month. Bare spots are significantly less. Course is now quite nice. Greens were not lightning quick, but still difficult to putt because of the mountain effect. Other aspects of my previous review remain the same. Good course to play. Highly recommended.

Greens are good and is this course's best feature.

I was disappointed in the shape of the rest of the course. Too many bare spots in the fairways and rough and the fringe areas of the greens. Course was playable (with an occasional ball bump off of a bare spot); just didn't look very nice.

Wind was blowing 15-20 which makes the course quite challenging. Lots of elevation changes. Greens are difficult to putt because of the mountain effect.

Cart service was regular and friendly. Range is mats only. Restaurant and bar are good with a patio in the shade. GPS and ice chests on carts.

Generally, a good place to play. Only major negative was the plethora of bare spots.

Played 9/6 at 7:51. Weather was great, no wind, temp started at 55° and ended around 80°.
Green fee was $60-- guest rate of a member.

Good course to play. Very good conditions. Elevation changes makes for the challenge. That and the sloping on the greens since the course sits in the foothills south of Reno. Subtle slopes to the fairways -- what looks pretty flat is at least one club up hill. Greens are very large and the same sloping issue. You need to be aware of where downtown Reno is because everything slopes that way.

Nice clubhouse and restaurant. Cart service throughout the round. Range balls are extra, Mats on range.
ADVICE -- use the putting green before you start to try to get a feel for the sloping of the greens.
Fair price for a good course.

A buddy & I did a 2 night stay & 2 day golf package with the Atlantis & got Arrowcreek CC(don't go, read my review) & Wolfrun.... Wolfrun is a great golf course from start to finish. We got put with 2 local's, that knew the course & were very friendly. That helped alot. The course has a large variety of different holes.With long & short distance's on the par 3's, 4's & 5's, with left & right doglegs. Also with blind shots up & down the hillside. Also has small creeks & natural habitat areas that cross the fairway's. So you have to have some real stratagy on some holes.It was a real fun course to play......Excelent staff at check in, the starter(Larry) was quite funny with great tips of the course holes. "The Sierra's on one side & the Reno valley on the other. Putt's roll to the valley. water's got to get there some how !!!!"
Marshall was visable as was the cart girl... plenty of time's. The course has Excelent maintanance from the Tee to the Green's. Smoth & good speed. And a little on the dry, hard side & fast. We stayed & had lunch in the clubhouse.Very good food & friendly service. Fee's are very reasonable. I believe the weekend is only $47 with a cart. They had a flier on the cart, play on wensday for $25 & get a vourcher for Datona Valley golf club outside Carson. If your going to Reno, Play at Wolfrun Golf Club. You'll be happy you did.

Things I like about this course: price is very reasonable for this quality of the tract.
Open fairways with alot of trees to get stuck behind. Nice views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Fairways are in good shape typically. Greens are never slow.

Things I don't like: pace of play is an issue on weekends even if there are marshals (and frequently there aren't) - I've had 5 1/2 hour rounds out here often. Bunkers are dirt, not sand. Frequently windy with most summer afternoons fighting a 10-20mph headwind on 7 holes. Blue tee box on 4 isn't level. Blue tee box on 11 is so hard you can barely get a tee in it. Need forward tees closer - most women struggle with anything over 5000 yards.
