Played the Hills at Red Hawk on wed. June 6, 2013.
Let me just say, Starting with the pro shop throughout your whole facility, and including the course. Tee to greens. Grade A.
Course was immaculate. Tee boxes, level and very little divot damage. Fairways firm, rolled out very nicely. Ruff was lush but depending on the lie(of course) was playable. Bunkers had this gorgeous white, bright sand and you better know how to play your sand shots because you got out of them what you put into your shots from them. No your game and you’ll be fine….. Greens were fantastic. Rolled true, fast and no bumps, give them a good 10 to 11. Maybe even better than that. I loved them.
The course has very little trees, because it doesn’t need them. The Hills course is up on top of the “Hills”, duh……lol. So the wind will take care of the course on its own and those bunkers seem to be in just the right places. Lot’s of elevation changes, with some blind shot’s and course knowledge or a good Sky caddie is helpful…. Speaking of GPS…. The cart’s are equipped with GPS with a great “flyover” feature that is very helpful for us first timers…. They also have three cart girls(all pretty) working the 2 course’s. Saw all of them and it was very consistent, every 3 to 4 holes. You do not go to the club house at the turn, but the girls have hot dogs, Great sandwiches, which we had and plenty of beverages for all ages.
This is our small groups annual trip to Reno and we are already planning next year’s trip to defiantly including Red Hawk. If going to Reno to golf, make sure you include the Red Hawk course in your itinerary. They also have the “Lakes” course that we want to play next year.
Thank your Staff for being so helpful and making it a great outing for our group.

Hi guy’s, Played on Sat the 1st at 7:16 am, for a great email special of only $38 w/cart. The course was in splendid shape from tee thru fairways. A handful of the greens have contracted some fungus, especial #2. Contacted Ron Parish, director of golf. He was nice enough to respond, as is his quote. “Regarding greens, the poa annua portion got stressed by an aggressive practice of verticutting combined with a spurt of winds, and warm temps and water that couldn't keep up. We've done some things the last few days to get their health back so you should see marked improvement. #2 did get hit very hard so we sodded a few areas out and it's recovery will take a longer time”.
The ruff is ruff. I mean it is not long but is thick & really lush. I’ve said before, come in steep with an iron that you can get the most distance out of, take your medicine. Sometimes you can get a hybrid thru if you’re lying on top……. So, overall course in very good shape. Most greens were very good too. Service is excellent from the pro shop that is well stocked with plenty of equipment and logo apparel too. To the very nice bar & grill with great service from the cart girls. Look for Jo, she is a joy and a hec of a golfer herself. She always has a funny story or comment. Hahaha Sign up on their web page for the weekly specials and go have some fun with a couple of buddies, or the girls………………

Wow,,,, Lone Tree looks as good as I have ever seen it..Tee through the fairways. Will get to the green’s later… we played on Sat 3/23, on a great day with nice sunshine & very little wind. $39 from their email special…. Tee boxes have been spruced & TLC’d….. Very little divet damage and every tee has a flat spot to get good footing & stance. The fairway’s were tapped off, and over seeded during the winter in area’s that needed extra work & have come back very well…… Stay out of the ruff!!!! d%mn , it is thick & lush & long. Go in with an iron & stay steep…. Haha. The bunkers seem to have new & fresh sand. Very consistent & I was in a few….. The greens are still coming back slowly though. They were very firm & most of our 4some’s shot’s ended on the back part of the green until we adjusted. But, they are also still sandy and sloooow from their aerifacation early in the month. Probably another 2 weeks. We all had a hard time reading the grain & speed combo…And, I am going to have to ask the question. What grass is used on the greens????
This is one of my favorite course's.....
See you there soon

Played Shadow on sun on 3/17/13. Nice and friendly pro shop with plenty of shopping opportunities. The course over all was in very good condition. Tee boxes are fairly level with a good place to get your footing. Not too much divot damage. Fairways were nicely trimmed & and well taken care of …… ruff was a little fluffy in some areas, and not too thin in any places. Greens were holding quiet well, because they are a touch on the long side... As they are punching the greens on, 3/18 & 3/19, the following Mon & Tue. Also because of the length the greens were pretty bumpy & slow, but acceptably consistent. Over all a very nice course to play and can be quiet challenging with the length. Then look out for the wind to kick up in the afternoon, or even sooner sometimes…… Look for their email specials on their website & also on Golfnow.com

A buddy & I did a 2 night stay & 2 day golf package with the Atlantis & got Arrowcreek CC(don't go, read my review) & Wolfrun.... Wolfrun is a great golf course from start to finish. We got put with 2 local's, that knew the course & were very friendly. That helped alot. The course has a large variety of different holes. With long & short distance's on the par 3's, 4's & 5's, with left & right doglegs. Also with blind shots up & down the hillside. Also has small creeks & natural habitat areas that cross the fairway's. So you have to have some real stratagy on some holes. It was a real fun course to play......Excelent staff at check in, the starter(Larry) was quite funny with great tips of the course holes. "The Sierra's on one side & the Reno valley on the other. Putt's roll to the valley. water's got to get there some how !!!!"
Marshall was visable as was the cart girl... plenty of time's. The course has Excelent maintanance from the Tee to the Green's. Smoth & good speed. And a little on the dry, hard side & fast. We stayed & had lunch in the clubhouse.Very good food & friendly service. Fee's are very reasonable. I believe the weekend is only $47 with a cart. They had a flier on the cart, play on wensday for $25 & get a vourcher for Datona Valley golf club outside Carson. If your going to Reno, Play at Wolfrun Golf Club. You'll be happy you did.

Let me start with this. Do Not waste your time or Money on going to this course. You can stop reading now, beccause it's not going to get any better. 3 day 2 course golf package with the Atlantis in Reno. On the next day we golfed at Wolfrun Golf Course, which we would have spent 2 day's there. with 2 local's. Read my review for Wolfrun, that course was excellent!!!!! The local's explained....... New Owners came in a couple of years & they are broke! the course was terrible. the fairway's, ruff , tee boxes, green's,,no maintenance at all. The pin locations were placed on bare patch's on several holes. They can't pay there water & other bills. Bare patches,,,, cart path only on a number of holes, including a par 5, 5oo yds dog leg right, that the cart path took you away from the fairway that we had to go back & onto the fairway just so we could get an idea of where our golf balls were. the local's drive on the fairway. Enough of wasting my time & yours. Don't go there.

Hey, nice golf course. Hard to rate course's this year with all the sunshine & almost 70 degree weather here in NORCAL !!!!!!! First time I played this course. Great special for $29.50 from Golfnow.com. The Reserve is a links course with large waste area's & more than enough water. haha Very nice & challenging set up. With a Blue & white combo scorecard, that makes a slightly harder, so some holes are not too short,,,,, but fun set up for our 4 some of average driving distance......Make's all par 3's at least 150 to 180 yds..... The course was dry overall with the greens a little over watered to keep them green but slow. Fairly wide driving area's, than narrow's towards the green's, so hit Driver most holes. The waste area's can be nasty, or, they can leave you a nice flat lie in the middle of larger one's. Be careful !!!!! Than be accurate on 2nd shot to stay out of trouble going into the greens. Holes can blow up quickly. Cart girl was making regular rounds & staff was friendly & helpful. Nice large bar & grill with TV's...........Will start to make this a regular stop of our weekly trek's.......

Great day for Friday the 13th. Sunny & 66 degree';s. And we got cart #13, I asked if that was on purpose and he laughed !!! hahahahaha. Found a great special for $20 w/cart. A little busy for the special. 4 1/2 hrs. Course was in good shape, overall, for the lack of rain that we have not gotten, as everyone know's. tee boxes were in fair conditions and mostly flat. Fairway's gave good roll out, a little on the hard side. Ruff was a bit dry, & a little short but with some thickness. Unfortunately, I can tell you a little about the bunkers. The usual for these course's in the Delta area, they are hit and miss. Some from one side of the bunker to the other. A little fluffy on some, and some get to much water in them and have a hard pan. The Greens were good at holding shot's. They were a tad bit bumpy. I think the grass does'nt know what to do. It's almost like they need to do an airifacation. 3 or 4 passes by a friendly cart girl. The service is very good at the course & helpful. In all, a very nice day on the golf course.

Fantastic California day........60 degree's...... sunshine....no wind...shortsleve's......Dec. 28 , day before my B-Day,, with 4some of my best buddie's.............. Lone Tree is a beautiful golf course in the Delta area,,, with more than 1 tree !!!!!!!!! bring your big boy DeWalt, & stay in the fairway's.......... Great special out of the newspaper coupon. $40 golf, cart, sleve of golf balls & a great Item's from lunch menu. You can not beat this when you can get it..............
The real golf course of the area with no house's built around it.
The tee boxes have gotten plenty of use. But still viable. Fairway's very good, green with nice run out. Ruff was actually pretty lush. Green's were their normal self. Held very well with nice speed & not bumpy & a little tricky.....
Ecellent pace. We started on the 10, with a 4some teeing of on the NO. 1 tee because of the frost freeze. No one really in fornt or behind. This is one of the golf course's I will pay full price to play on, anytime ,,, anyday. It is my favorite...
