Played Monday March 10 under a sunny sky with little wind. Yocha de he was very lushed up and as beautiful of a golf course that you could possibly imagine. Just applied light top dressing on greens but still putted very well, astonishingly well considering light punching.

Service was top of line from bag drop to check in, this course spares no lack of customer service during all phases of golf day. It is how anyone would love to be treated at a resort.

This is by far the best course in Northern CA and please take the time to play you will not be disappointed!!!!!

Tournys are great there because they can link your screens together so everyone can see the leader board. If you have the chance make your way up there because for the price nothing compares up north.

Played 12/28/13 12:20 $75 POP 4:20. Got the round in just at dusk. I do enjoy this course. It's in fantastic shape and playing fantastic and good deal at $75. Fairway's were cut perfect. Soft with lots of roll with only a few areas that had numerous divots, but perfect everywhere else. Greens rolled very well and plenty receptive. Noticed some heavy foot print traffic, but it didn't seem to have too much affect on the rolls. Rough green & lush, but not too penalizing. Traps perfect white sand with good consistency. I find it a treat to play this course.

I am sure glad that I made the trip up to Yocha-De-He yesterday from sacramento. I have heard great things about this course and decided to check it out for myself. The customer service around the entire course was top notch from check-in, to the cart attendant explaining to me where the various practice facilities were (driving range, chipping green, 2 practice putting greens) to the starter at the 1st tee who took the time to explain the pace of play program that Troon Golf has for the golf course and managed to get me out a few minutes early. I played from the tips (~7300 yds) which made some of the longer holes very tough with the consistant 20mph wind with 30mph+ gusts all day. I was told after the round that it usually hit or miss with the wind and that the fall is when the wind tends to pick up.
The condition of the course all around was perfect. The tees were lush and level; fairways were all lush with not any visible excessive divot damage; bunkers were fluffy white sand; rough was lush and thick varying from 2-3in. around the fairways to up to 4in. around the greens; and the greens were in fantastic shape rolling very quickly but oh so smooth. If you start a putt on the correct line, it will find the bottom of the cup every time.
Even though it is a bit of a drive from sacramento through some country roads, it is absolutely worth every bit of the drive and the reasonable green fee ($89 weekday with cart and range balls stacked in pyramids). I will be back hopefully very soon and often.

Played Sat 10/5, 1:40 tee time, $89 twilight rate, finished in a leisurely 4:00 as a 3 some. Beautiful day, sunny, light breeze, 75 degrees. Course is in excellent shape. Greens running true, nicely recovering from punching 3 weeks ago.. they did seem a bit prone to footprint damage, and there were spikemarks all over, but they ran true with zero bumpiness. Nothing bad to say about the course today. I enjoyed it very much, and look forward to when I can play again. Just wish it were 20 min closer to Sacramento. As a side note, we stopped to eat in Woodland: Ludy's BBQ on Main St. Highly recommend.

Played Thurs 7/18 with GKer Cit, 9:50 tee time, 4:10 round, was a 4some to start, 2 some to finish. Could've been faster, but our group was having some difficulty advancing the ball in a timely manner. Have been looking for an excuse to make the hour drive to play this course, as I have heard nothing but good.. and I was not disappointed. Customer service is top notch, from the bag drop to the pro shop to the on course marshalls.... There are refrigerators throughout the course with free bottled water... The course is spotless, well manicured.. a few places where divots weren't filled, but other than that it played firm and true. The course layout is fun and fair while challenging; there is elevation changes throughout. First shot is an 100 ft elevated tee shot to a fairway below. Front 9 is a bit more open. Back 9 was a little tighter with tougher tee shots. Lots of bunkers and water. Greens were huge, moderate speed (stimp=10)... need to be able to read a green to 2 putt from 70 ft away. wind not too bad all day. 18 is a nice and tough finishing hole, dogleg Right around a lake to a protected green. at the end of the round, they have waiting for you a mango scented cold towel to wipe down, which is honestly the best part of the round. Lunch after was excellent, ate lunch on the patio.

I would definitely play here again. the$89 weekday rack rate is a good value for the quality of the course and the level of customer service. they have a hotel/casino right there if you wanted to stay for a weekend. If I lived 30 minutes closer, it would get more play from me. but anyone in nor cal less than 90 minutes away needs to play this course at least once.

Played 2/1 9:30 $89. First time playing this course and really liked it. I've wanted to play this here for sometime. It's near where I grew up, but far from where I live now. A top quality course. Fairways are in great shape. A little soft, so not much roll, but great to hit off. Rough a little long and soggy. Greens rolled great and were pretty fast. The holes were cut sharp so if you missed your line by even a 1/4" the ball just passed on by. Course layout was fun and interesting. Service was great. Cart girl was by many times. Marshals out in force to try and keep pace moving. Look forward to play this course again.

Finally made my way up to Yocha and it was worth the wait. The threat of awful weather scared everyone away. In fact, I was the only one listed on the tee sheet all day! I had the course to myself and what a treat. I did see another single heading to the first tee when I was on #9. I lucked out with a nice break in the weather and was able to get through before heavy rains started coming down again.

Yocha Dehe lives up to the hype. What a beautiful course in a nice setting. It was very soggy out there today with heavy, heavy rains all last night. Otherwise the fairways are pretty much immaculate. The rough was gorgeous--medium depth and punishing with the wet conditions. The greens are also in great shape. Receptive, deceptive and smooth, other than the many earthworms that were up on the surface because of the rain. Considering this is their "off season" I was amazed how lush and green it was out there. Very impressive. The staff and service are excellent and this is a top-notch facility all the way around.

The course starts off with a majorly elevated tee box, then the front nine is pretty benign and straightforward after that. However, there is a lot of subtle undulation to the terrain, so there are very few flat lies on the entire course. Other than the first hole, there aren't any major elevation changes on the course as it sits entirely in a small little valley along the edge of Cache Creek. The whole back nine was awesome with a lot of interesting holes and more water in play. Plenty of twists, turns and tricky angles on the back. 17-18 is one heck of a finish and I loved the 13th, which is a long par-3 cut in the middle of a vineyard that neighbors a number of holes on the back nine. 14-15 are also very memorable and unique holes. What a great experience on a wonderful course!

Practice facilities are also great with one of the coolest driving ranges I've seen and an elevated putting green near the first tee that gives you a view of the entire course as you prepare to play it. They have a nice-looking short game area, too, but I didn't utilize it today.

Played last Saturday on a beautiful fall day. I can't say enough about this course as it is one of my favorites. The staff is plentiful, friendly and helpful. Be prepared to tip a lot but it's worthwhile as this course is the real thing when it comes to service. Tee boxes, fairways and green were pristine. Rough was medium tough as I was unable to find one ball even though I had a bead on it. At the end of the round, after a staffer cleaned our clubs at the 18th green, we were met at the clubhouse by another staffer with warm rolls of towels reminiscent of the courses in Hawai'i. Course layout is plenty long with interesting layouts. Always a pleasure to play here. One example of the service is when I approached the 9th green, my approach shot was a bit shy of the green on a slope so I parked the cart to hit up and after i hit i turned to the cart and a staffer was already in my cart ready to drive it up to the green for me. Ate at the buffet, gambled a bit and then went back to San Francisco. A very nice way to spend a Saturday, I'd say!
