Played this course two weeks ago on 11/12. This course had been on my bucket list for years. Glad i finally got up there to play it.

Got unlucky with some of the smoke from the fires, but other than that the course and day was great.

Tee boxes and fairways were great, really green, lush and full.
Rough was also nice, not too long, but framed the fairways well.
Greens were great, really quick, smooth, and firm.
Bunkers were perfect.

Great course layout, ample room in the fairways off most tees, great scenery and a great mix of par 3s. Paid 82 on a weekend, 100% worth the price. Wish I lived closer so I could play it more often.

Played here 10/2 with GK member molebio (Nat) as our first stop on a quick Nor Cal visit. I had read plenty about Yocha on Keith’s blog and various other sites but I was still blown away. The moment you know it’s a Troon property, you expect something nice and just like Classic Club or Maderas, I was not disappointed. This place just screams class and the course was spectacular. I won’t gush too much now, however it quickly became a personal favorite. A note on the review...It rained a fair amount before our tee time and we got quick a soaking from a cell overhead that eventually passed, so fair thee warned that this was taken into consideration. Tee boxes: Good shape overall. A really great mix of tee options for skill levels of all types. A fair amount of turf to place the tees and although the rain made the ground soft, it was very playable. Fairways: Wonderful condition. If they drain and play this well in pouring rain, I can only imagine how amazing they must be in high season. Cut perfectly and the cut patterns were visually stunning. Consistency of the grass was also excellent. Can’t fault the course for rain, but you can praise their staff for doing a great job of avoiding standing water and performing preventative maintenance to make sure the course was playable in that kind of weather. Rough: No joke, this grass was Torrey tough. It was thick and sticky, with the height enough to hide a white golf ball easily and quickly. It was penal and brutal. Sand: Unfortunately you can prepare everything else on the course to drain a bit except for the bunkers, so the rain made the sand into oatmeal and shot shaping was nearly impossible. I get the feeling these bunkers are normally pearly white sand that’s the perfect consistency. Greens: Excellent condition. Again, given the rain, they ran very quick and even on roll. They were a beautiful green color and the undulation was challenging. ETC: Everything about this property was amazing. The staff is what you would expect from Troon; attentive, courteous, and friendly. From bag drop to club cleanup, the staff at Yocha were the cherry on a delicious sundae. The carts were great with good GPS. Water in coolers as well as fridges everywhere on the course. What more can be said about the layout; one of my favorites. Highly recommend anyone who can make the trip and play here, you will not be disappointed.

Played 8/25 in an event (NCGA WNT) Conditions very good all around as the usual at this Troon run facility.
One of the really nice courses in NorCal available to the daily fee player. They really go out of the way to make you feel like a member for a day. All course conditions above par.
The weather wasn't too hot for late August and a cool face towel provided at the end was a nice way to refresh, enjoy a draft and the view from the patio overlooking course. The tee shot on #1 is memorable top of a hill to the fairway below.
Always consistent conditions as I have played here annually or more for four years.

Played in a Tournament on 5/19. Tee'd off just after noon on a beautiful 85* day. Wind was down, so conditions were ideal. The pace of play was extremely slow, but not unexpected when you play a tournament in mid-day on a weekend. 5+ hour round.

This is my third time playing here & again, I was blown away by this course. The layout is wonderful & it is a challenging, interesting course without any "hokey" holes. Great scenery! Conditions are immaculate: Greens are firm, smooth & medium-fast, fairways are lush & every lie was ideal. The rough is punitive, but not brutal. Sand in the bunkers is perfect.

The service & on-course staff were friendly & helpful. Restaurant has good food & drinks. It's way out in the middle of nowhere, but well worth the trip!

Played Yocha on 5/5/18 and the course was in excellent condition. This has been on my list for a few years and I'm happy we finally made the trip up there. They are hosting a US Open Qualifier on 5/8 so as you can expect the course was set up accordingly. The service from bag drop to tee off was top notch and the driving range & short game area were also great. Oh yeah and we had a HOLE IN ONE on hole 7! The whole course probably heard us erupt! The course conditions varied from very good to excellent. The fairways/rough/sand were near perfect (see pictures posted). The Greens were solid, medium pace & smooth. I thought they would be rolling them 11-12 on the stimp given the Qualifier but I think they were waiting until Monday to cut/roll them. I would say a solid 7/10 and rolling about a 10-10.5. However, the course was well protected with the thick rough and it was a challenging day. Also noted, we played 36 and each round was less than 4.5 hours on a Saturday. The layout in my opinion is great. The course is fair but challenging. A good combination of tough and "gettable" holes and if you are striking it well a low score can be had. I would rank this as a must play if you are visiting Sac Town and we will definitely be back. Also, the manager got my buddy a sweet hole in one package including a flag with the yardage, hole #, and iron used!

Played 4/2/18. 9 am $89 POP 4:10 Course was in fantastic shape. The best I have seen it or played. Greens perfect. Very receptive and smooth with a pace at about medium maybe a touch above. Noticed one green had remnants of a recent punching, but the rest were perfect. Fairway's perfect. Lush with good roll. Except for the first fairway. That drop causes the ball to stop after hitting so your approach can be a looong one. They were in the process of cutting out some infiltrated grasses that have contaminated some fairway's. But it was hard to pick out the "grass weeds" they were replacing? They are starting a policy of asking you to clean your shoes before going out on the course to minimize the issue. Traps & tees were great. With the green rolling hills and many flowering trees on them, it was beautiful. My favorite course in the Sacramento area without a doubt.

Played Wed 3/28, 10:10 tee time; Teed off on time. Nice sunny day, 10-15 mph winds. Teed off the back nine today. Course is almost immaculate. It's a wonderful layout, in great shape. Beautiful backdrop. Challenging holes, elevation changes. The rough was one of the most wiry grasses I've ever played. I lost 3-5 shots because I let the grass grab my hosel and ruin my shot, both greenside and full approaches. It's not deep rough, you just need to have velocity and firm hands, which is hard to do on delicate chip shots. Greens smooth and running about a fast 10. Bunkers were perfect. Cart girl came around a couple of times. Carts had nicer seats than my car, with GPS. Had a great time. Wish it weren't so far.

I arrived close to 1pm but the staff were great in getting me to the tee so it would not be too dark when I finished. Loved the elevated first tee, the well cut fairways, decent rough and smooth greens. Lovely setting between vineyards. I was playing a single and was called through a few times which was unexpected. Quite dark at the end and even managed a par on 18. Pro shop was closed but still allowed me to buy a shirt and cap. Excellent place. Recommend.

Played 2/16/2018 12:30pm a sunny but blustery gusty wind day most of the round (20mph +) First tee being 100+ft above the fairway was most notable there. well manicured and the wow factor is there from check-in to the 19th hole. A casino (Cache Creek) resort course in great condition really no defects. Better than what I expected this time of year. Green fees $95 and worth it if you like great conditions. The attention to detail is evident and I'd say one of the best in the area for public play.
