Played the front 9 twice. The back nine was closed for aeration. The back nine will be aerated on 9-16. Fairway are a little longer and there are a few brown spots. Greens were a little on the slow side. Bunkers were a little on the firmer side with a thin top layering of sand. Pace of play was under 4 hours after jumping ahead of a slow foursome then replaying hole 5 twice. Customer service as usual was very good.

First time playing here today. Overall very pleased. Great layout for a short course; a lot of variety & holes that make you think about which club to pick while giving plenty of scoring opportunities.

Course conditions are in great shape considering the drought & the summer heat.

Fairways were in great shape, only a few dry spots here & there; otherwise great to hit off of.

Tees only had divot issues on par 3s as to be expected, but otherwise level & lush.

Sand traps (I was in plenty) were good. Not exactly the white fluffy stuff but definitely soft enough to hit out of just fine.

Greens rolled really well & had no divot or bare spot areas but needed a trim & a rolling. They were extremely slow. Poorest part of the course even though they looked great.

POP was quick since this is a short course at 3hrs. Great practice areas & facilities overall. I would come back more often if this wasn't so far from the SFV (but I have to anyway since I lost a club!)

Havent played here on weekends as I was afraid of the pace but decided to give it another shot. Wow! was I surprised that the course was pretty empty on a Sat PM. Maybe they raised their green fees from last time I played on weekends here .. I don't know. PAce was under 4 hours with minimal waiting. We were behind a 2some and had to wait on a few holes but was moving along.

Conditions of the course was decent. Greens are always one of the best part of the course. Smooth and medium fast. Mostly straight forward but there are a few pin placements that were harder than usual.
Tee is in good shape. Bunkers - didn't get to hit from but looks well stocked.
Staff was efficient and professional as usual. Got us out in a timely manner. Bev cart went around a few times but you had to flag them down or they don't stop for you. LOL.
One thing I did notice is people don't yell FORE here. 3X we had balls fly over us and not once was there any warning. They did apologize but a warning would have been nice.

Certainly would not mind paying $36 to walk here if I get to finish under 4 hours.
Definitely will put this back on rotation for my rounds.

Went out with a buddy yesterday, Friday, 5/30, @ 3:20pm for a $20 walking twilight fee. For what it is, I really had no complaints and the course is in nice shape all around. Greens ran on the quick side and were in good shape with the exception of more unrepaired ball marks than usual—which doesn't bug me as much as some. Yeah, I appreciate someone was rude not to fix their mark, but how many actually end up on your line? So fix it, and a couple more, and get on with your round. It seems like too much preaching to the choir to harp on it here. These greens will challenge you and I enjoyed them. Made it around in just under 3.5 hrs which seems amazing for a Friday mid afternoon. Wedding vows were concluding on the gazebo by the clubhouse as we were coming up the ninth fairway and a graduation was kicking into gear on the high school field bordering the back nine. Ah, Spring… good times!

Shortly after noon yesterday, I got around Alhambra in just under four hours, playing as a single behind a line of steadily progressing groups. Per recent reviews, the course is in nice condition so I'll just add some random comments. Greens are in nice shape, quick, and challenging. While I saw a good number of repaired ball marks, I didn't see that many unrepaired marks on the day, as some have reported. Grass around the green complexes was good enough that the lies allowed me to execute a couple of flop shots and facilitated chipping. Teeing grounds generally had very nice coverage and are level—a pleasure to tee from. The exception would be the 12th. The hole has a tight driving window with OB left and a tight tree line on the right. Ideally, you'd like to be on the left side of the tee box to get as much right fairway in sight as possible, but much of that side of the teeing ground has a little cant to the left. While generally short, it's a nice little course with it's own challenges, the price is reasonable, and the service is always friendly. Aeration will be performed later in the month.

They are removing many trees to provide sunshine into areas that never saw sunlight and therefor drying out the shaded fairways. Course in in great shape. I play there on a regular basis and find the staff always helpful and considerate. The course just installed GPS equipment on all carts which is accurate and very helpful.

Got on at 3pm for super twilight and finished 18 in just over 3 hours. Customer service from the staff was superb as usual. The tee boxes needed a cut bad! It was 2-3 inches thick off almost every ... Continue »

Got on at 3pm for super twilight and finished 18 in just over 3 hours. Customer service from the staff was superb as usual. The tee boxes needed a cut bad! It was 2-3 inches thick off almost every tee. Fairways were decent for the most part with random damage and GIR here and there. Bunkers had good sand and consistent throughout the course, but foot prints galore. The greens were pretty hard, but still on the slow side. I've NEVER seen a course with more unfixed divot marks on the greens. I counted 30+ on the #2 putting surface. No joke. That's the type of players Alhambra gets. Overall, a very enjoyable round.

Played on a Saturday with a large group. Pace was slow but you know that going in on any LA muni. The condition of this course was surprisingly much better than expected. Greens were smooth and fairways were somewhat lush and nice to play from. Only in one bunker but there was plenty of sand. Staff was helpful and great to deal with. The layout is fun with lots of variety. Overall is a good experience and will look to go back. Its a par 71 but plays allot like an executive.

Played out here today with the LA Golf Group and we had fun with the "hobo" one club per hole format that made this course a lot more challenging than usual. I was in the first group out a little after 10am. Pace slow as expected on a Saturday and we finished in a little over 5 hours. $36 walking rate very reasonable.

The course was in pretty good shape for winter. Looking nice and green. Most tee boxes excellent with fresh grass coverage and just a few of the shorter holes and par-3s a bit chewed up. Fairways mostly lush, but had been recently aerated, so there were some holes to contend with and the mud pellets. Some thin areas and some shaggy spots, too, but overall better than average for this level of course. Rough a mixed bag, but not too bad. Greens very good and very fast. Some tough pin placements today for a junior tournament in the afternoon, so that made our format even more challenging. Bunkers pretty good.

Definitely a fun little course. Back nine much more interesting and challenging than front, but overall well suited for the wacky little format we played with the shorter hole lengths.
