What a great job they did in improving the front 9. Alondra is no longer a cow pasture. The fairways and greens are well bunkered, the large sloping greens provide for many pin placements, and the layout is better. Number 3 is now a par 4 at 353 yards. This is much better than that stupid par3 that was there. Hole 4 is now a nice short par 3. 5 is where 7 used to be only it is 410 yards now. 6 is the same hole but 440 yards. 7 is where 5 used to be. 8 is still a par 3 only facing in a more westerly direction. 9 and 18 share the same bunkering around the greens. The only thing left is to improve the 12th, 13th, 15th, 16th, and 17th greens and you got yourself a golf course.

Played this past week. The course is improved. Front 9 is new. All aspects were good condition. Back 9 has improved, with only a few bumpy greens. Alondra is now a better place.

Played Alondra on Friday 28 Nov, a holiday, so the course was very busy and slow. This was my first time playing since the front nine was renovated. I like the layout of the new front nine much better than the old layout. Sill needs to mature and the winter rain (if we get any) will help the new course. The greens were great but players need to repair their divits. Maybe a friendly reminder of some kind will help. The new sand traps were more numerous and in good condition. The back nine could use some new and better sand. The fairways on the front and back were very thin with lots of bvare spots. Hope the new irrigation and winter rains will help. Friendly course as there is no rough, so it is easy to find your mi sh$t ball. Still slow play but that is the case on all course that allow five some's. So plan on the slow play and you will enjoy the game better. At least you are outside doing something fun well sometimes fun.

I have been playing Alondra for many years..the newly opened front 9 is a big improvement. The greens are bumpy because they can't be mowed very short at this time..understandable. Improvements needed are sand on the drive carts..certainly needed to repair divots. For some reason they have buckets of sand on the tee areas..where players usually don't take divots. The bunkers are huge but have nice, fluffy sand. More rakes are needed for this reason. The greens are bigger..but long rather than wide. The back nine is pretty bad as it has been neglected in favor of the work on the front..the greens in particular are in urgent need of repair. There are no immediate plans to fix this nine as the money is not available. It is quite a disappointment to play the Front Nine and then move onto the horrible Back. To the unwary, be carefull driving off in your cart after completing play on the 18th...there is no path and you are driving strainght into the 1st tee of the Par 3...something should be done about this safety hazard.

Been eyeing the course for some time. The changes I feel were needed and the updated look was appealing -- from a distance. Don't mean to poopoo on their parade but the greens were SLOW, and bumpy. If you have ever played Alondra you know the greens are SLOW and BUMPY but silly me why would I expect the greens to be any different from what they were? All I can say is same dog; different set of fleas. Greens can be best characterized like the better fairways of a premium course. According to a staffer that works there they will NOT cut those greens until they "firm up." Take my word, it could be another month before I consider even visiting that place again. Fairways are nice. Bunkers on front are well stocked with sand -- soft and fluffy. Just make sure the bunkers have the rakes in them and accesible because even these players can't be bothered with cleaning up their mess. Fairways are OK. I see their money is well spent on the fairway grass b/c some of it looks as if it's dying. (see hole 8 it's dry and looks like the sod didn't take). Overall I was impressed with the layout but honestly I could care less what the fairways are so long as the greens are in good shape. That being said I can honestly see my hard earned tax dollars squadered on a golf course that would have been better served if they actually spent money fixing and ensuring the greens would be better especially after waiting more than 6 months to recover. I was honestly disappointed. If I had my choice to play again... I wouldn't be playing here... for another month even two. Good luck to you others like myself that play here in the upcoming weeks only to be disappointed with really ugly greens. So bumpy in fact I see the ball jump different direction even with a small 3 foot put.

Redesigned front nine will reopen at the end of October. When the front 9 opens again i would suggest just playing at twilight and forget the back 9. The greens are in bad shape with many bare spots

Alondra used to be my home course in high school, and I have to say it is a piece of junk as is all South Bay golf. Go sleep in your car and play Los Verdes or play the toxic wasteland known as Victoria. At Alondra, you will most be in a 5 some of hackers. This is an easy course. It is wide open. The greens are all elevated and slow. You should move to No Cal and play the awesome, empty golf courses up here! On second thought, stay in LA!

Played yesterday (7/15) 6:30PM for the super twilight rate of $8.00! It is true that only back 9 (10-18) available now and #10 has been shortened for the renovation. Played only 4 holes because lots of people are playing, even at 7PM. For $8.00 and its location (been central to south bay), there is not much to complain. But this is, IMO, a very tight and dangerous course. #11 is next to a busy park, lots of people running and lots of cars parked, with wire fence of less than 5 feet tall. A mis-hit hook could injure someone. Please play with caution there. The greens are actually nice but slow, probably not rolled as needed.
