Walked on solo last Sunday morning. Waited less than an hour, was playing by 7 a.m. and finished at 11 a.m. Was looking for a quick, last minute game and got it. Fairly level tees. Wide open fairways (a few with thin coverage). Hard to tell the rough from the fairway on most holes. Majority of greens are flat with minimal break -- but you'll see a difference between Front 9 and Back 9 greens. The front is faster with visible sanding. The back is much slower, no sand, with very lush grass. Players in front of my group didn't seem to want to fix ball marks or replace fairway divots. All in all, considering the price, the convenience and the service, I walked away feeling OK.

played this course same week just 2 days later and they rolled and cut the greens..which made them great putting. the sand traps were great too, fairways thin and many different kinds of grass, so makes some shots interesting. front 9 greens were much faster than the back 9...so slow..so make sure and adjust. Teed off at 750 and played in 4:15 compared to 5 1/2 hr round mid morning tee time.

I played Alondra today after not playing it for about 15 years. I had seen them working on the front nine everytime I was at their driving range and wanted to see the changes. The front nine is a good improvement from what it used to be. The greens were kind of slow but true. The new greens are definately still new. The bunkers had good sand in them. They have changed the routing with some new green locations. Now for the back nine. Its the same old Alondra back nine. I think they have put in some new bunkers. The greens were BUMPY and SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. It felt like I was putting on cotton with my headcover on. If they ever redo the back nine Alondra will be a nice neighborhood muni to play.

at $25 it is a good deal for a round and easily walkable....took over 5 hours to play on a monday so that was a problem. Front 9 was nice and well bunkered and nice traps....fairways are thin so you get a lot of hard pan lies. Back 9 is along all the fences so you have to hit it straight...all in all not bad for the price...

Played Alondra today during the heat wave. Turf is getting burnt and some greens are being effected. All in all the course played well though, I would recommend it to the average golfer. Not as amazing as the Palm Desert Courses or anything, but for a cheap public course it played fair. One annoying thing I wish courses wouldn't allow is five-somes. They slow the course up sooooo much.

First I've played the "new 9". I was most impressed with the improvement! I think whoever designed the greens did a great job. I rated the greens based only on the front as the back had just been punched. What suprised me the most was playing in under 4 hours with a fivesome. Very good! The course itself is very "scruffy" -- typical Alondra, but the greens made it worth playing despite their slow speed.

Course is local to me and easy enough to get on. To ask me about the greens is a loaded question. The front 9 greens are hard with bent grass. They are brand new, so they are hard. If you put them they are slow but not as slow as the back 9 greens, which are original. Course is fairly flat so font 9 greens roll where you think they will provided you fix the divots in your way. Folks if you read this please fix your divots. Front 9 greens do bounce and may not roll as true as you would like but they certainly better than the back 9. Sand in front is pretty soft and they protect a lot of the greens. Grass in Fairways along front are dormant but should turn out pretty nice towards spring. Back 9 greens are bouncy as all get out. Aggressive pitch/chips are rewarded, get tenative and leave yourself a long put to save par. Fairways along back are thin. Bunkers along back are to my liking more firm with a little less sand.

Played twilight. Front 9 started off slow but still finished in under 2 1/2 hours. Back 9 picked up and finished in less than 2 hours, and this playing as a 5-some for a good portion of the round. Still finished with enough light.

Played this course on Friday, Mar. 13th in the afternoon for the first time in about 3 years. I was anxious to play the new front nine.

This used to be my home course when I lived in Lawndale, so I got to know this track well. The Poe Annua greens were always slow but the was kind of a good thing because your approach shots held the then humpback greens (most were elevated).

For those that haven't played the new layout, it seems fun, however there are aspects that make me wish for the old Alondra. The layout is great though, the rearranging of some of the holes and greens was excellent. However, after all the recent rain I would think it would be a little lusher. It's like if they forgot to turn the sprinklers back on after the rainy season. Most fairways and rough were dormant but the worst were the areas around the green. It was like hitting off of hardpan with a thin layer of grass on top. It's almost as if the whole course was one big dirt cart path (teeing off was nice though - ball rolled forever). The wide open (80yards wide in some areas) were still there but greens were not rolling well, especially at the end of the day. The back nine was good ol' Alondra, everything was nice and lush and greens were a bit better. One really nice thing on the front nine were the bunkers, the sand was nice and fluffy - best in the area in my opinion.

I like the new layout but it still has growing to do. I probably won't be back unless my buddies absolutely insist.

It's been a while since I played here. (Actually I played here not 1 week after they reopened the front 9) And I have to say this course is an improvement. Literally two different 9's. The front 9 plays well. It sets up well to my eye and not a lot of trouble to navigate in/out of. Loads of bunkers protect the greens. Pretty much a flat course but the greens are a bit improved. They play like a links style green. You have to run the ball up. The greens may feel firm but they put slow. I figure with the play they get it's a good thing. No one ever fixes their ball marks. Plenty of sand in bunkers. They were watering the greens earlier in the AM and I think it does a lot to firm up the greens on the front. They may need to areate them in the not too distant future. Loads of the fairways on the front are dormant. Back 9 still the same. The greens actually rolled a bit better but there were instances where the ball would just hop skip or jump. All the fairways are a bit thin for the time of the year. Back 9 greens are a lot more receptive to aggressive shots. Funny how you set your mind to play the front 9 only to get bamboozled by the back 9 greens. Typical Muni fare as far as course conditions are concerned though. It's a good place to play in a pinch. I would get there again seeing I live so close. Pace of play was uncharacteristicly fast. Finished in around 4 hours. Not the norm for this course. Group behind was nowhere to be seen except for a few holes that were backed up. Nice friendly locals had imparted their local knowledge of the course.
