Played 12/29. Course is in good shape, not great like they will tell you at the pro shop. Greens are in good condition and very fast. Fairways mostly dormant and dried out, a lot of very tight lies. Pace was awful, 5 1/2 hrs. Marshalls were almost non existent. Foursome two groups ahead of us had two holes open in front of them for at least nine holes and nothing was done. When I complained to the pro shop after then round, they said "sorry, it was busy today". That's acceptable at Rancho Park, not a top notch facility. While I did get a good deal today,the rates here have skyrocketed in general and the service seems to have gotten worse.

Great course in very good condition. Fast playing pace. Greens roll true and fast. The best public course within half hour's drive from the Westside.

Great "Nine and Dine" deal available. Play back 9 and get free cart, GPS, and Breakfast. More food than I can eat. Good course. Not very challenging if you hit it straight.

First time played here on Last Sunday . It is a tough course , fareway is narrow and it need a lot of mangment . Green is a little dry , but rolls true . Fairway is good and some rough is very deep . I like this course , it is totally a moutain course and mountain view make me feel like playing at desert . The humidity is low makes my lips very dry and drink a lot of water . The only things I don't like is the restaruant . Food kinds are very limited and service is just so so, but I will play again .

As many of you may now this track is extremely challenging. Greens were like glass although they were a tad dry, Fairways extremely narrow at times and 90 percent of the holes you can not see the flag from the tee. I swear if you have no knowledge of this course you might tee off the wrong direction if the golf carts did not have the great gps systems which they have. The rough is quite rough on this course and what makes it even harder is you can have an immaculate Drive and still get an unlucky kick in it. I know there is much concern about price on this course, but currently they are running a special for 68 bucks Mon-Thu if you tee bettween 10am and 2 (must sign up for their free loyalty program). At that price this course is an absolute bargain!!! If you normaly shoot 79's to 85's like me, be prepared to be happy in the 90's on this track :) Oh like every one else mentions, you need Balls for this course... Literally. Be prepared to loose your pro V's or your Bridge Stone Tours (I lost a couple, and it hurt)

Played birthday on 8-17-09. My buddy had to pay $18.00 over the normal twilight rate because I was playing for free. That made no sense at all. The putting green was closed and I had to go back upstairs to buy Gatorade as the snack shop was closed as well. Greens and fairways were very dry. 18th green was covered in goose droppings and effected putting line. That was very nice.

Rates have gone up to $188.00 on the weekend. Everyone in the area moved over to LA City Course "Hansen Dam" a few miles away due to costs and service. Hansen Dam is packed now. Im not sure why Angeles has taken this business philosophy in a bad economy in Sunland/Tujunga of all places, but they cant be selling very much food, drinks, beer, balls, shirts and clubs or tee times. Beginning membership rate is $3500.00.

Its a very hard course and will improve your game, but the costs is not worth it. I would pay extra to play Trump before paying full price for Angeles. Someday someone will get that no one is playing there anymore and they will drop their rates and get everyone back. They should control the SFV golf market but they don't. As for now..we see all the people that played Angeles with us as we play Hansen Dam and De Bell. Its a shame. We played there for years, but this new business approach during this economy is crazy.

Angeles National is one of my favorite courses in Southern Ca. being a member of the PGA of America it is a true test of your skills. The staff and service is exceptional and they make you feel like a member whether you are or not. The membership price is a great value for unlimited play it would be my club of choice to join. The burgers are 5 stars. Enjoy this course for its as good as it gets if you love the game of golf.

I can go out there Monday -Sunday and play 10 balls per hole if I want. Great for improving your game. The range is all grass but who needs a range with you can swing the club 30 times per hole playing 10 balls ;)

OK, I'm a newcomer to southwestern design but I kind of don't get it. USGA rules govern all play, except the dryest desert in the world plays as lateral water? Why not build the tee boxes up so you can see the fairway, and then just play golf? Risk reward is sort of minimized if no matter where you blast it you can drop in good shape for a one-stroke penalty. Fairway to green it's lovely layout - few greenside bunkers but lots of contour. Greens were slow today but when fast they must be brutal. Rough varied from scruffy to US Open. Range closed on Thursdays until mid-morning for maintenance, which is annoying. Fairly fun experience which could easily have been much better.
