Played at dawn on Easter morning. The course still is playing as a par 70, but the staff has done a good job rebuilding a couple tee boxes and dealing with other rain damage. Sunland got pounded by the rain, and the water still is flowing in different parts of the course, but your round will be unaffected. The fairways were immaculate, as were the greens. Greens fee was a discounted $80 b/c of the rain damage, and that should be price even when it goes back to a par 72. It's a solid course, but in my opinion, not in the class of the Oak Valley/Beaumont courses. With all the environmentally sensitive areas though, this isn't the course to be playing if you're spraying it a little.

I played this course for the first time on Friday March, 18th. I was hugely impressed by the layout and the conditioning. The fairways & greens are in great shape right now. The greens are definitely firm, but I hope they keep them that way as the course matures. The bunkers could use some conditioning. You could tell that the recent rain had taken a toll on the bunkers and I am sure they will be back in shape soon. I am excited to add this course to my rotation and look forward to playing the layout after they restore the holes that were damaged. I usually play Rustic, Tierra Rejada, Robinson Ranch, but I must say my first impression is that this is going to become a favorite.

Played reconfigured course in under 3 hours as a single on a Wednesday morning. Very fun and peaceful with water in all of the creekbeds. All three reconfigured holes played tough.

For the $60 rate, can't complain about the shortened course. Still in great shape. If it's your first time since the change (but not your first time there), be careful on 9. The green is now #10, and the new one is to the left. I almost fired at #10 before someone stopped me. They should put a map or something on the tee box, cuz you don't want to be left on that hole now. Stay middle or right.

Had the 1st tee time (7:00) day after rain, & fairways drained magnificently. Great deal for money.

Angeles National Golf Club is great shape. Greens are wonderful. Fairways plush. Rough fairly decent although thin in spots. I didn't mind the shorten layout. Looking forward to the completed repairs.... Continue »

This is a beautiful layout but for the average golfer like myself the fairways and natural areas are too punative. The fairways are generally crowned or sloping to the cart paths and once the ball passes the path it is in an "environmentally sensitive" area and is unplayable. If the fairways were dished a little toward the paths to hold balls a little more the course would be more playable. The are quite firm and don't hold approach shots wells but are in great shape. The greens have alot of undulation, roll fairly true, but some of the hole locations were questionable. I started at 12:30 so I got the twilight rate, very affordable. All in all, a beautiful course but if you are an average golfer bring an extra couple of sleeves of balls.

Instead of apprectiating my business, they acted as if they felt as if they were doing me a favor by "allowing" me to play there. Real snobs. I would much rather place Rustic Canyon two or even three times and spend the same amount of cash. Save your money. You are only paying for the Nicklaus name.
