The day before I played Angeles National, I checked the Greenskeeper.org site as I always do. It was rated a 9.08!! "Immaculate", it said!! Rave reviews!! The guy from Chicago who says it's the only course he plays when he comes here!!

Are you freaking kidding me?? The only thing I can think of is that the people who are posting this nonsense either own stock in this course or they drink too much.

Except for #17 and #18, there are no holes here with any real style, any real flavor. All the par 4's look alike - boring. The course was just overseeded.....but still - I see nothing special about this place. A big yawn!!

Much more worth the $$$ to play Goose Creek or Oak Quarry or Moorpark CC or Lost Canyons or Rustic Canyon - hell, I'd rather play Brookside.

Hardly "Immaculate". I'll play it again - if someone treats. Otherwise, it's simply not worth it - and the hype is waaaay overblown!!

I have played on a lot of courses but I would have to say that this course by far is the best. The only thing better is when I visit Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course in Kauai, HI.

This is a great course in emaculate condition. There can be a drastic difference in how the course plays depending on the cut of the grass and how much they water it. The first time I played it the weather was hot and dry, and the grass cut low. The low cut fairways allowed the ball to roll and roll and roll for miles (made one feel like a pro). The greens were hard enough that a well struck 9 iron barely left a ball mark. The second time I played the course, it had been aerated 3 weeks prior and the grass was cut higher and well watered. Under these conditions, drives took two bounces and stopped, and you could back up a ball on the green with a 5 iron. Under either condition, the course was very enjoyable to play. A great course for all level of players. The course rule of everything being lateral hazards makes for lower scores than what would result if out-of-bounds were in play. Warning: When the marshals tell you to stay out of the environmental areas, listen to them. My friend got a bad case of poison oak looking for a ball.

Beautiful links course. An adventure! Immaculate. Wonderful experience, even for the novice golfer (with a few lost balls!).

Played 10/13. A very enjoyable experience. Fairways and rough were in good shape but firm and a thin for the most part. The tee boxes were recently overseeded but open and playable. Greens are the best around. I little slower then I remember but rolled very true. Hardly any ball marks. Every time I play this course I like it more. Just an awesome layout with great service. Pace of play was fantastic. Highly Recommend!

played Sat. 10/9. the course has survived its first aereation well. the greens were not as fast as they have been, but still rolled true. i started seeing the dreaded scourge of SoCal, people not fixing their ball marks. nowhere near as many as the courses out in riverside and San Berdo, but a few all the same. they were overseeding the tee boxes, so they were very soggy, but playable. the rough had been cut back for overseeding, so it was a little patchy in areas. overall, the course is still in great shape and worth playing. should be even better in a month.
