Played in the SCGA qualifier on March 4. The course was in pristine shape. The greens were rolling fast, fast, fast, and the fairways were as good as I've ever seen them. Tee boxes were in good shape, and I have no complaints. It's a shame the course isn't in this condition all the time - it could be, but with football and the diversion of golf money to the Rose Bowl, the course conditioning suffers at times. The new bunkers on both courses are going to look really nice. I've seen the some of the new ones on course #2, and they look great. When Brookside is in this kind of shape, and when it's a tournament where no 5somes are permitted, I think this may be the best muni facility in the greater LA area. Yes, we all gripe about the starters here (smiling is not permitted behind that window apparently), but the courses are solid layouts.

Played 2/14/08 in heavy winds! Makes for a long day with some of those par 4's into the headwind. Also some tough pin positions. But the worst part was 5+ hours to play. Hard to focus for that long. Staff was less than friendly at checkin, but with the long waiting list despite the poor weather, I guess they figured there were plenty of people there if they pissed us off and we left. Love the course, hate the attitude!

too many trash on the fairway from the 1st hole to the last hole. They used the course for the parking lot for the college football game @ Rose Bowl = Tail gate party. Trash every where on the fairway - empty cans, beer bottle caps, used bbq charcols, broken glasses, ice from the ice chest. Why don't management clean up??!!! The golf course should give us some discount to us for playing in such a bad condition.
It is a nice golf course and challengin greens w/good condition.
Instead of Marshalls we need Park Rangers to keep this course safe.
Like to return after and before the college football season.

Played on Sunday 9/30 and walked right on. The pace of play was great and very much a surprise but that was the only good news. The course was not in good condition at all and not really worth the green fees charged. While the greens were recently punched two weeks ago and I expected them to be a bit rough I did expect them to have healed better at this point then they had. They were still very rough in a lot of areas and were very bumpy. They seem to need a bit more water. Still people are not fixing their ball marks and that's a real shame. The green collars were awful and need some serious attention. They were so long that in some places just off the putting surface it seemed like you were in the rough. The fairways were not much better. There were places where water had collected and were very muddy and in places the Heinz 57 varity of grasses growing was weird. There were some bare areas and there were hundreds of bottle caps and lots of glass all over from the last UCLA game and it will only get get worse next week when they again park 25,000 cars on the course. Lastly the tee boxes which were recently redone are in bad condition and were in need of some care. This used to be one of the premier courses around but it seems to be sliding downhill.

Nice course to bomb your driver, but this course sorely needs GPS carts or yardage books, in my opinion. There are no above ground yardage markers, only yard distance on sprinkler heads which are placed at random yardage increments and can be annoying to try to locate.

As a fan of traditional layouts, I really liked this track. The greens however were a HUGE dissapointment. It appears that nobody that plays here fixes their divots, I truly have never seen anything... Continue »

As a fan of traditional layouts, I really liked this track. The greens however were a HUGE dissapointment. It appears that nobody that plays here fixes their divots, I truly have never seen anything like it. The bumpiest greens I have ever played, particularly on hole #1, and holes 15-17. The poor greens take much of the value of this place away.

Played Sat 08/04. Course #1 is long course. Many long par 4s. Unless you have good long drive ~280yds, it hard to get GIR. Course layout is simple... not much to talk about. I normally play here because it is near by. Don't like to pay $64 for this course. Well maintained course but just not interesting course. Staffs are great. Good customer service. Great place to have lunch after the round. Course #1 is for testing your driver shots. I prefer course #2. This is shorter course but little more interesting course.

Played Sun 07/22. Long flat course. This course has quite a few long par 4s. Unless you have long drives, it's hard to get to the greens in regulations. Course is in a good shape. Greens are normal to slow. Pace is around 4.5 ~ 5.0 hrs. Customer sevice is excellent.
