Greens VERY Slow. But you already know that. Pace of play is getting worse as course gets crowded after 3pm for twilight. Still at $10.50 for twilight and 9 holes, who is going to complain. Greens bumpy and SLOW. Rough is cut down so not a problem for approach shots. Nice little course that can wreak havoc on your game if you don't think your shots though but it's the same for any golf course. Note pin positions on some holes (downhill par 5 #5) and par 3 #6 that can be a problem.

Greens are SLOW. Heroic puts needed. Greens very receptive so Ok to be aggressive. Fairways are nice and well covered. Sand is good. Tee boxes a few are a little on the uneven side. Finished in ... Continue »

Greens are SLOW. Heroic puts needed. Greens very receptive so Ok to be aggressive. Fairways are nice and well covered. Sand is good. Tee boxes a few are a little on the uneven side. Finished in around 2 hours for starting around 2pm. One rate for both residents and golfers outside area. Like the sign says by the starter's desk, "They Finally Got the Message!"

Met up with a buddy for a quickie 9. Word to you folks who used to play Harbor but were not residents. Rates have returned to original levels. In other words, if you are a resident or not, like myself, you get the same rate. Happy Days... Course was EMPTY at around 4:30. Finished around 6PM. Greens are slow and very receptive. I am talking REALLY slow here. You have to bang them so get your pace down early and reap the benefits. Sand good. Fairways green and well covered. The weather has been good to this course. No thin lies. Rough is thick. As a twosome we played quickly until around 5 where it ground it a halt. Played two balls and still kept bumping into the group ahead of us. Still like the course b/c you get two legitimate par 5s two really decent par 3s. Overall, would play here again. Just wondering if these greens would be faster if they cut them.

Greens are improving since aeration. Give maybe 1 more week of good weather (heat) and they should get back. Greens are soft and a little bumpy but you can still find the line and put. Greens are typically slow here especially after aeration. Fairways are in good shape. Rough is thick and trees have been thinned down a little especially the blind shot on the par 3 (Hole 5). Played in 1 1/2 hours. We were stuck behind a twosome and they were behind a foursome. Otherwise round could have ended a lot faster.

One special note. Prices have been reduced to allow non LA residents to get better rate. Finally the higher ups have figured out that most of their business was from non-LA residents.

Probably the best 9 hole course in the LA area. Two reachable par fives if you can drive it 260 or thereabouts. Greens have some character and are challenging (especially 1st hole). Birdie opportunities if you can keep it in the fairways, which are pretty generous. Course is usually in decent shape, greens can be slow. Oh and the guys in the starter booth are very pleasant and do their best to get you out.

This is the course I go to when I am short on time. The rains however have been unfortunately brutal to the greens. Very bumpy and ball will never quite roll true, also greens are very slow. Fairways are in good shape. They are resodding some of the tee boxes so expect to play more forward tee positions. It's a 9 hole course so you can finish in under 2 hours provided there are not slow groups in front. We played in a little under 2 hours on a Sunday. Not bad considering it was cold and sunny. Some of the tee boxes were a bit unlevel and that problem should abate once they open up the resodded tee boxes. Hoping greens will recover b/c they are bumpy and slow. Did I mention the greens were bumpy? Bring 4x4 ball.

Fun little place to play a real 9 holes. Lots of times there are 2 greens to hit to, so make sure you see the flag before you hit. Fairways were good. Tee boxes were either good or very very bad. Sand and rough are decent. Fun layout and easy to walk. I'd definatly play here again, yet not resident fees aren't typical for a 9 hole muni course.

Pace of play is excellent. With the new rates for LA City courses, still a great deal but no one plays Harbor as much anymore. Greens are very bumpy. Lots of water translate to squishy greens. Sun doesn't burn through hazy conditions and water on greens don't get as dry as they should, hence bumpy and very rough conditions on the greens. Fairways are in good shape. More grass here in the fairways than Harding for sure. Tee boxes in good shape. Finished in under 2 hours for 9 holes. Great little course but greens again need some tending.
