That said, what I did see was in nice, but not immaculate condition (as other posters have stated). Fairways still haven't come back from aeration and were shaggy and bumpy.

I'd love to be more positive as this is a classic, old-school track with some awe-inspiring elevation changes, but they have to manage the starts/tee-times better at this price.

Played this course yesterday 7/15/10. What has taken me so long to play here? I really enjoyed the course. Their are a few blind tee shots but the layout is still fair for the most part. the greens were immaculate. 99% of the ball marks have been repaired and their were no bare spots at all. The speed on the greens was consistent and the greens were smooth and true.
The fairways were a little dry but there were no bare spots and the ground was not hard (even though it was well over 90 degrees yesterday). The rough could be tough in some parts but it was lush pretty much the whole way through.
In short, Ithe course will be on my list of places to take visitors. oh yeah...the food was great in the Red bar and the alcohol selection was top notch (plenty of single matl scotch in hand).

Little late posting this, I am still licking my wounds from my golf game...played 7/8/10 in the GK Event. We were so lucky it was not a hot day--weather was perfect for this time of year. Another fantastic event, if you have not signed up for one of the GK Events yet, what's taking you so long?? We have so much fun each time and this was no exception. This was a tough course for me...I spent the day at the beach playing in the sand...ouch, it really burned me! I don't think I have ever been in so many traps and I have played here before! Just one of those days...I want to come back for revenge (and hopefully a lower score)!!! Great course, the red tees were in great shape, not too many red tee players, the fairways were a little dry, not what I expected, and the sand, what can I say, I was there all day...soft in some and a bit firmer in others. There were some fun and challenging holes! A comment I have to make--this is such a nice resort but they sure could use some new golf carts! Those carts have seen their better day! Brakes were squealing, starts were stuttering, condition was just old...and no GPS--for a resort(?) come on! Everything else seemed top notch, beautiful high-end hotel, the CRed Bar was very nice, even the ladies room had TV screens in the mirrors! Food and service was excellent...just those golf carts, ugh! Come out and join the gang at the next GK Event in August at another fine golf course.

Played Thursday, 7-8 in our Greenskeeper.org Event. Got to say I forgot how tough those greens are on this course. They were not even running as fast as they typically do this time of year and they still ate me up. Also, you’ve got to be straight off the tee and know where you are going. Cut a little bit too much off a corner, forget it, lost ball. Love the layout of this course although. We played it from the whites and even at that, it was a solid challenge. Good variety of holes and elevation changes.

I found the course conditions not a nice as I expected but still in great shape. Greens were rolling true and holding shots. Tee boxes and rough in good shape. Bunkers were well maintained with high quality sand. But the fairways, they were not as lush as I thought they would be. The aeration of the fairways that took place 10 days before our event was not fully healed and in addition to aeration effects, the fairways were in general thin. They also did not provide consistent firmness throughout the round. My guess is they simply need to get more full-lush and these issues will be resolved. With the City of Industry Championship coming up next week, look for this course to continue to be in great shape and hang on to the excellent conditions for weeks to follow.

played in the outing Thursday for greenskeeper. The event was run very smoothly by both course staff and Gk staff. Plenty of looks at the beverage cart, good service. This might have played into the pace of play though. This round took 5 hours and 20 minutes! Waaaay too slow. Had to wait on almost every shot. Very frustrating. I don't get it really.
Ok now for the course stuff. The weather was great. The course 'looks' really nice. I was not impressed with the fairways. They were short, but the composition of the ground, was like it was hard pan in some areas, and then in others it was wet. The club didn't react the same after hitting the ball. Just my interpretation of it.
The greens were tough today. Watching putts roll, it was like the ball wouldn't roll true. Left/ right, kind of squirrly. Not on every green, just a few. Rolled quick though. Have to be aware of the hills around you or a few will get away. Tricky.
Traps, there were a lot of them, had good sand in them. The only thing is, they weren't consistent depth of sand. Be aware when you walk in them the depth, and you shouldn't have too much trouble getting out.
Tough course, have to play it a few times to get a good perspective. At 100 bucks, I wont be getting very many looks. I need a better fairway for my money. Although I would pay it if all the Gk guys and gals were there. Good company.

Play here for GK outing on July 8th. This course design is excellent, it hosted a US open qualify last year. Fortunately we played white, not blue (6800yards) . It is still challenge but not punishment which make it very fun .Green is fast and not easy to read , roll very true, couple of holes has tier greens. If you are not on the right position, hard to get a par. The service is great yesterday , we meet the beverage cart 3 times . Will definitely play more here though my only concern is traffic around here.

Played in the GK July 2010 outing. Great course and layout, holes have some character to them. Good condition from tee to green, although rough is a bit tall in places and can be hard to find your ball at times. Bunkers have great sand, greens move quick and seem to have just a touch more break than they appear. Great times with the GK group and will be back here again.

Had the Roast beef sandwich at the Station afterwards ... great grub. Staff very cordial and friendly ... one of my favorite places to hang.
