Was excited to check out the Ike for the first time after hearing a lot about it. Rate was $99 for 12pm on Friday afternoon. Walked with my partner who's no stranger to big hills, rate was the same with/without cart.

I don't know if you'd call the fairways dormant or what, but they sure weren't lush - I think this is a wintertime thing. You could still take a divot, so overall fine, a lot of runout, fairly dry. Teeboxes were great, hard to find a spot that wasn't flat. Bunkers were a disappointment - hard packed sand that was impossible to splash out of, some had a little mud in them. The rough was there, wasn't very punitive. There were actually more than a few dead/dirt spots around some greens that you could putt right through.

Greens were in great condition and quite challenging - the tip I got was to 'read them from every angle' and that helped a ton in avoiding three-putts.

POP was 5h15, pretty bad. The guys we played with said it usually wasn't like that - front 9 was backed up starting on the 4th hole and took 3 hours, we were the last group to finish 18.

Overall, I thought it was a little too high of a rack rate for the conditions, but the greens were super memorable and "fun" for sickos that love punishment or can't hit accurate approach shots. Didn't see a marshall, beers were $9, didn't try the glizzy. Still, I know I'm going to come back in the springtime and try the Babe.

Greens were a little slow but outstanding condition. Course is in great shape considering Socal is 90 degree weather this time of year. Course is as challenging as always. Long... you get to use all the clubs in the bag.

Cons: The bunkers are the absolute worst. It's a shame considering how nice the course is. My group was in quite a but of the bunkers and all comments were they were rock hard. My personal experience was the same. So hard there is no need for a rake. It's like hitting off of packed dirt.

Still worth the price of the weekday green fees and then some.

Played Friday 3/15, 7:30 am tee time, 4:15 round, haven't played here in a decade maybe... so excited to get back. course in so so shape.. they are punching next week, but even still, ball marks aplenty, and bunkers are not great. Rest of the course in playable shape. Enjoyable, but not high end condition. imo. Course was dry and fast however, and greens were receptive. Running about a fast 10. Had a good time, and course is as challenging as I remember. For public golf, it's probably your best LA bet in terms of playing conditions. All that being said, I'd play here anytime.

Trek back out to Industry Hills - IKE - my favorite Los Angeles course yesterday.

Been away for a few weeks because of the hot weather, but happy to be back. Course is in good shape. Greens were the highlight, fairly smooth and putted around 10. Sand traps still need some work. Fairways had good coverage but lots of divots from frequent play. Customer service was excellent and the snack shop was busy and well stocked. Carts are aging and will need a refresh soon. Happy to be back!

Played on July 13, 2023. Only the second time at this course. Very challenging and plays very long from the Blue Tees. Course is in very good condition with beautiful vistas. Bunkers are sandy but very hard. Should be heavily raked to fluff them up. All in all, well worth the visit and the green fees.

I played the Ike on Saturday 4/22 for the first time in about 2 years. The last time I played I was pretty disappointed in the conditions because there were lots of bare and browned out spots in the fairways, and the overall look and care for the course was not really what I had remembered from the course of yesteryear. But this time out I was really pleasantly surprised to see the course that I remembered with pretty much pristine conditions from tee to green (with a couple notable exceptions that I will get to). Check-in was quite simple, but one thing to be aware of: if you are a single player, you will need to ride with one other player from the foursome which is somewhat unusual. But the group I got paired with was a really great group, so all good for this round. Tee boxes were lush and level, the fairways were nicely mowed and gave good run out, and the rough was quite lush and quite penal providing ample incentive to aim for the short grass. The greens were quite good -- almost fully recovered from aeration, the only sign of which was the layer of sand underneath the carpet-like green grass that you could see and feel when fixing your ball marks on the green. The greens rolled exceptionally well though and held lines very well. I probably over-read the greens and expected break that wasn't there on a lot of holes. I didn't find myself in any greenside bunkers, but my groupmates found more than a few and complained quite a bit about there not being any sand in them. I found that to be mostly true in the 2 fairway bunkers I found, but I find that normally to be a plus in fairway bunkers. So the greenside bunkers were probably the only negative to find at the Ike at the moment. We teed off in the 3rd or 4th group of the day so the pace was exceptional -- we played it quite leisurely and didn't really have a group in front or behind us all day, even on a Saturday. If you've never played it, the course is pretty challenging but if you can find some good tee shots on the longer Par-4s, you can leave yourself with manageable approaches and the course becomes more fair. If you find yourself in the rough from the teebox, there's a good chance you'll also be blocked out on your approach and then you're scrambling to find pars or even bogey. Overall, I definitely recommend it and hope that it doesn't get too burnt out during the summer, but I'll be back in a couple months to give it another go.

I finally got out with a buddy to play Industry Hills (Ike). I've only played the Babe course here once and found it to be an odd layout. I have to say, the Ike course is a whole different animal. We played the combo tees at 6500+ yards and it was a perfect challenge. This course was in better shape that most of the local courses for sure. I heard it can play slow, but I didn't experience that because we went out late afternoon after a shotgun just ended. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The tee boxes were mostly flat and in good condition. The fairways looked beautiful from the tees but were still greening up from their slightly dormant state. Another few weeks of warmer weather and they will be great. The greens were punched a few weeks ago so they were still a bit bumpy at times. They rolled medium fast and held the lines decently. Again, in a few weeks they will speed up and be beautiful I'm sure. I was in a few traps that were mostly thin with not much sand, which seems to be the norm on every course these days. Anyway, I totally enjoyed the layout. It was fun, interesting and fair with big undulations on the greens which made them tricky. I will be returning here again, although, I'm expecting a much longer round next time. If people would fix their divots on the greens and take care of this gem, it should continue to get better as the warm weather approaches. Hopefully, watering will not be an issue this season. I look forward to returning here soon.

I really miss the Industry Hills of yesteryears where conditions were top notch and best in the SGV. Seems that those days are long gone.

Tee boxes were rough, thin, and barely had good spots to hit from on the par 3s. Bald and thin spots galore on the fairways. Roughs are cut pretty short and inconsistent with lots of bald areas as well. Greens were slow, bumpy, and VERY soft. How soft? 3 of my wedge shots were embedded. Lots of divots even for the 2nd tee time of the day. The bright spot was the bunkers. Plenty of sand and quite consistent throughout. I love the track, just wish that they maintain it better.

With cooler temps, we trekked out to Industry Hills IKE. With discounted rate of $64 on the Babe, less folks were playing on IKE at $84. POP was 4 hrs 15 minutes. Course is in decent shape. Gree... Continue »

With cooler temps, we trekked out to Industry Hills IKE. With discounted rate of $64 on the Babe, less folks were playing on IKE at $84. POP was 4 hrs 15 minutes. Course is in decent shape. Greens were running at 9/10. The fairways had good coverage, but a little damp. The sand traps were terrible. Some of them had grass growing in them. I did see crews out trimming and doing maintenance. Snack shop and cart gals were pleasant. Layout is awesome here. If you bring out of towners here, they cannot tell they are in Los Angeles county. Check was efficient. Will return again soon!
