Some comments to previous 3 posts ... I'm going out on a limb ... but, for gosh sakes, if there water on the fairways at least TRY to not drive through it in your golf cart. I mean this is just plain ol' common sense. Although, I admire your honesty, it's your judgement I question.

If you're playing 'from the tips' ... assuming you mean the Black tees ... you got some big brass ones swinging ... that's 7200 yards!!! Hat's off to ya, big guy.

45 min on the 18th??? Somethings abnormal there. I play occasional weekend early rounds and RARELY does it take over 4 hours. There's something strange afoot.

The rough and fairway were watery that the cart had some hydro-plating, which made a huge screeching mark on the rough.

This course is a real test of golf. It is long and demanding from the tips. Accuracy and length are required on this course. Fairways are tight and bunkers are very well placed. Trees are very mature. Some tight shots from tee boxes are required. This course is punishing if you are off line.

The overall condition of the course is outstanding. Very well manicured and scenic. A very challenging course, recommended for staight hitters. Tight, tricky, and long.

This past Saturday (3/7) we played the Ike. It took 5+ HOURS - and 45 minutes on the 18th.

Where was the marshall? No where to be found. Just a disgrace that a beautiful course like the Ike would allow this to occur.

The course was in great shape - and would seem to be a pleasurable course...but not when it takes so long to play.

For this reason alone - I am not sure our group will ever play the course again. It's a shame.

Teed off early morning 2/20/09. The course is in top notch condition. Tee boxes and fairways could not be better, and the greens are rolling very fast and smooth. The rough is higher - probably due to the rain - and if you hit in there, you'll have a little difficulty finding your ball. There are a couple of areas of the course that don't drain as well b/c water collects there, but if you've hit it there, you didn't hit a good shot in any event. The weather was perfect, and the view of the snow capped mountains from several tee boxes was pretty sweet.

Feb. 7 update: rained yesterday, rained today, course still very playable but cartpath only. The Ike is as green as I've ever seen it, postcard perfect. Put a fork in me, I'm done.

Played here on Sunday, December 27th. Had a frost delay of over an hour which was ok since we didn't have anything else to do that day and we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet upstairs before we played. Cart paths only made for a VERY long day.

However, the course was in very good shape from tee to green and the greens were fast and devilish as always. I really enjoyed playing this beast of a course even though I played horrible and had to wait for frost.

Played mid-morning Jan 10. My first time out here in a few months, and I was not disappointed. I have never seen this course in better condition. Every aspect of the course was excellent; just pristine. All the credit to the staff there. By the way, the breakfast burrito is a must buy - it's pretty big, so 1 can be shared by 2 people.

A few big divots here and there on tee boxes and fairways, but fairways were beautiful Good challenging course, of where I posted one of my highest scores. A few holes with some good character. Customer service was great, with the complimentary water bottle.
Cute cart girl visited a few times, nice to see the flirtatiousness. Pace was decent. Took the cheap route, with the 12:50 click4teetimes.com approach for under 40 bucks with a cart, finished the last hole in the dark, but finished. Had a great and challenging time. I'll be back to see the 'Babe' course.
These courses are in great great condition, if you are on the fence, just go for it and enjoy.
