Played yesterday, Sunday, June 13. 11:20 starting time and teed off about 10mins late. Not a big deal. Checkin was easy, staff were all considerate and friendly. POP was 4.5hrs, didn't wait too much at all, comfortable pace for our group as my brother and I were with our wives.

Everything about the course conditions besides the bunkers is above average, for sure! Tees were nice and level with good coverage. They don't spread the tee markers out very wide, so hitting areas seemed a little small, but no big deal.

Fairways were very nice, never had a bad lie all day. Great cushion and perfect amount of roll.

Greens held shots well and rolled without any bumps whatsover. Fairly quick and rolled true. Pleasure to putt on these greens and hit long irons with confidence, I had several 3-irons and 4-irons into them and they all held well.

Rough didn't seem too penal, I missed two fairways and didn't have any problem hitting my next shot.

The bunkers were about the only thing that needs attention. I didn't hit into any of them, but all my playing partners found some and they had many rocks and hard pan. I have a feeling they will attack the maintenance on these soon as we are supposed to open the state tomorrow on June 15.

$79 to ride on a Sunday is very fair, we were going to play Meadowlark and they wanted $66 to ride, so after looking around, I felt $79 for this place is well worth it right now. Get on out there!!

The Babe is what other golf courses should aspire to be. It is well manicured for getting so much public play. A marshal has a screen on his cart indicating which groups are out of position, and he then advises them to keep pace. Most players fix their ball marks and fill their divots. Golf course personnel are friendly and accommodating. It is the best public track around that area, for sure. Very well manicured.

Played Wednesday 1/27 7:50am tee golfnow.com for $54. Course conditions are a mixed bag at the moment. They reduced their rates and I can see the course is getting beat up. A third of the black and blue tees were GUR. The remaining tee boxes look like they need a break too, many divots and bare ground. The fairways are dormant, not pretty but still very playable. The greens are super fast! Fairly smooth for the most part but a lot of ball marks. The rough and the areas around the greens have many bare spots. Not the usual conditions for this course but beats ANY muni by a long shot. I would rather play here than at Whittier Narrows for $50 to ride!

Tee boxes look (IMO) like they have been put away for the winter. Traps? Forget them as they are a mess. Greens had been dusted with sand and rolled oh so slowly all round. Think I will hibernate as well from here for some time? Not a fan of dormant fairways. Looks like a good time to start driving to P S. But customer service is excellent at all levels. BTW took a look at Ike. Dormant fairways there as well.

Played this AM. Course fairways are now all dormant. Not much roll on wet bermuda fairways but decent lies. Tee boxes were all fine. Traps were cleaned and ready for morning play. Rough is 1/2 inch and wet/sticky in the AM. Greens looked like they were still healing from aeration. Some were better than others but most of them (still being wet) were slow to chip/putt. Great customer service as always. Course is adhering to LA County virus regulations. Fee is now $54 for the Babe.

Out early today. POP 2.5 H. Though it was not necessary as the Babe was very quite. Most of the rounds were over on the Ike. Not much change from my post of last week, except fairways are now even more dormant and drier. Try and take a divot and you might break a wrist? Tee boxes have been cut and sanded. Traps were playable but needed work from the weekend play. The greens also had a light sand dressing, that combined with the dampness made chipping/putting very difficult IMO. Would not say the course is in optimal condition at the moment? Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played today as first off. POP was 2.5H. Very foggy at the start. Warmed up nicely after first 9. Course is browning up due to the bermuda fairways. Still good lies, some good roll and some not. Bunkers were all clean and playable at this time of morning. Greens were in very nice shape and had some speed. Price is now $54 for the Babe vs the previous $49. Excellent customer service.

Invited to play today with some friends. Reluctant at first, but agreed when told it would only be 3 of us. I also thought that maybe the rain early in the day would have lightened the course some? Well the rain came and went early but left a mess regarding pace of play. Was told by the marshal that some morning players went back to the clubhouse when rain began, some stayed under trees, some in their carts and some near out buildings. But they ALL STOPPED PLAYING according to what he was told by the marshal in the morning who he replaced. So imagine the carnage when the rain stopped. Why the course allowed this I will never know? And it would have been nice to be told this info when we checked in? I for one would have gone back home. Oh one more thing. After teeing off and heading down the cart path on # 1 the GPS notified us that it was CART PATH ONLY ALL ROUND. Needless to say things went downhill from there. Almost 3 hours to play 9. We also had 3 foursomes in front us and they were all in their own individual carts. Seemed odd to me? But as I saw more of them (12 players) I noticed that they were part of a group due to similar hats and shirts. Why they did not double up is beyond me? I finally left after the 14th hole and as I made my way back to the clubhouse I passed by # 17 tee. Empty. Looking back I could see the first group of the 12 in the middle of the 16th fairway. The 2nd group was on the tee box on 16 and the 3rd group was just arriving? We had repeatedly called the shop asking for a marshal? He might have come out but he never approached us to let us know what was going on. So I played # 17 and # 18 in less time then it took me to play 4 holes earlier (LOL). Course conditions not good? Tee boxes need mowing. Fairways need mowing and ball just dies when it lands. Traps not in good shape after rain and many players and no raking. Greens were slow like molasses. On a bright note? Sun came out and our 3 some enjoyed catching up with each other. I thank my friend for the invite but I will respectfully decline any and all future weekend golf invitations unless it is Riviera or something that is equal to or better.

Played here today. POP was atrocious. Marshal was beside himself trying to get golfers to cooperate. I felt very bad for the man. As Ike had recently been aerated, most play was on The Babe. It was not a great day to play, as the course was just too crowded with excellent golfers, good golfers, decent golfers and unskilled golfers. Plus the conditions were not optimal. Tee boxes shaggy from recent aeration. Fairways were not mowed due to recent aeration. Traps were a mess from hole # 1 to 18. This was not the day to have single rider carts? Greens were shaggy and slow from recent aeration. I love both courses but not after extensive aeration. Check with the pro shop before you decide to play. You will be glad you did IMO.
