The scientists on T.V. are saying that the planet Mars is now closer to the planet Earth than any time in recorded history. With a decent telescope or a really good pair of binoculars, you can see many deep craters, cracks, fissures, huge canyons and the impact-holes of literally thousands of meteors, which have left deep holes in the surface of the planet.

Actually - upon closer inspection - Mars must look an awful lot like most of the tee-boxes at Knollwood!!

Hey....American Golf Corp....I know y'all came awfully close to filing for Chapter Eleven status last year, but - geeze, c'mon fellas....get some freakin' heavy equipment out there and bulldoze, level and re-seed those tee-boxes and save a great old track before it's too late.

Oh, hey, and as long as you're at it - try to mix in a little water for the fairways, eh? "Adobe" is a great and traditional old San Fernando Mission building material (for those of you who don't know, it's sun-baked mud with dried straw mixed in!) - but it's a b$tch to hit a five-iron off of!!

The layout of this course is classic....if it was in really good shape - I swear, I would never play anywhere else!! It's actually kind of nice in some spots (I guess that must be under the sprinkler pattern!!) - and the greens were actually quite nice for the most part - and held most shots well - including a memorable five-wood from 198 yards!

The price is most reasonable.....$21.00 for those who walk. It has some classic golf holes - it's good to have both a right-to-left and a left-to-right tee shot along with you at Knollwood! A "fade" can put you way out of position on some of the holes (especially on the front nine!!)

All in all - a good day golfing. JohnnyGK and sassyhacker are always great to play with!

The course was not in very good shape. Greens were OK, Fairways very average, Tee Boxes very, very poor! We got off with a 3:00 tee time and finished 18 easily. The course layout is great. It is too bad that the course is not in better shape. At 3:00 (twilight rate), we were able to play and ride a cart for $19.50 per person. Overall, it was well worth the $20.00. If you are looking for a bargain, this is it, just don't expect too much as far as course conditions go.

I called the starter to get another cart and it took 3 holes before anyone came and they didnt even bring a cart. I ended up getting a cart the next hole. The marshall was very rude and incosiderate. He would drive by and give bad looks.

Played on 7/8, and they'd just punched the fairways on the front nine. Lots of plugs, and not much roll.

This course is only 6373 yards, but don't be fooled. It is not a cake walk. There are houses and lots of trees on both sides of each hole, hardly any level lies, and not easy to read greens. Course condition has really improved over the years. However, the tee boxes are still in terrible shape. YOu get a great work out walking this course as holes 8 thru 13 all go uphill. If you are able to score a bogey or better on the 1st hole you have done well!

Why does American Golf always do that.The greens were very sandy and putting was a joke. Tee boxes were in very poor conditions. The fairways were in good conditions and the roughs were very thick. Was a 5 hour round, play was slow.

HAVEN'T PLAY HERE IN AWHILE,BUT ITS WELL WORTH IT. COURSE IS IN REALLY GOOD SHAPE FOR A COUNTY COURSE. GREENS ARE STILL A LITTLE BUMPY BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS NICE. WILL HAVE TO GET OUT AGAIN SOONER.
