Played early 6/28. Layout is fun with the exception that some greens and tees are too close together. Fun and Challenging drives with lots of elevated tees and elevation changes. Tee boxes need alot of work. Greens are soft and very receptive. Fairways are generally ok. Did not have the best day but I will be back to redeem myself.

Played Sat 06/13. This is my second time playing this course. It's been more than 3 years since I played this course. Don't remember the layout at all. I knew that this course is bit shorter than normal course, 6000yds from the blue tee. Normally I can't get tee times from this course cause they are always full. Our group choose to walk since we expected slow round but surprisingly it wasn't crowded at all. This is great course to walk. Fairways are in good shape. Didn't see many bare spots. Roughs are not too difficult to get out. Greens are great. They are faster than you expected. They do roll well. Bunkers are good too. I liked their placement of the bunkers around the greens. This course is not a difficult course and give you some scores. Some of the par 5s are reachable in two. This course might brings up your self esteem and give you the confident back. Like the course layout too. Enough ups & downs but don't kill your legs. All of us enjoyed the round. Only negative feelings we got was with staffs...unfriendly or don't car.
Can't have it all :-P Good course. Will come back again.

Spring has definitely improved the conditions since my last review in March. The greens are in very good condition. They are rolling nicely and the greens are holding longer shots. The fairways have filled in from the winter thin. Bunkers are in nice shape as are the tee boxes. The rough can be thick or thin it just depends on where you miss it. La Mirada is a nice track at a good price.

Played on a Saturday expecting a crowded course. I was pleasantly surprised that the course had some fivesomes, but the Marshal kept the pace faster than I expected for a Saturday. Greens, fairways, rough, and bunkers were well-maintained. Price was reasonable for a prime-time Saturday day.

Played in four hours teeing off at 7am. For La Mirada that is moving along. The greens are in good shape and playing firm with medium/fast speed. The fairways are on the thin side which I expect on a muni course in winter. The rough is on the short side with some thicker patches. The tee boxes are good. The sand in the bunkers feels soft under your feet but is firm under the fluffy top. The course is on the short side but the challenge comes from the lies produced by the rolling terrain of some of the holes and the small greens. Nice track to play with LA muni rates.

Played La Mirada on 1/31/09 for the first time. I had avoided coming here before because I had heard it gets crowded and usually has a "Fair" rating on this website. Well, crowded it was but I was pleasantly surprised by the course. Fairways and rough were definitely decent for winter and the greens were very good - mostly smooth and a little fast if you are not careful. This is not a difficult course by any means, but the rolling terrain keeps it interesting. I especially enjoyed the 6 par 3's of various lengths - some uphill, some down. If you can tolerate fivesomes and a 5 hour round, the golf itself is fun and good for your ego.

Played 6:45 am on MLK day, 2nd group out. Walked on and no wait. Took about 4 hours to complete. Tee boxes and greens are decent, apparently better then the last reviewer. Fairways and rough are not great. Some areas of green grass, lots of yellow, some bare patches. Rough might be a little better lie then the fairways at times. Lots of groups of 5 out. We were 5 single players. Not great course condition, but acceptable for the $33 fee to walk. Lots of walkers at this course.

Nice little course, definately some risk reward holes.. Fairways were tolerable, bunkers were nicely raked.. They were doing a lot of fairway maintenance, so workers were scattered everywhere.. the greens were in terrible shape.. I dont think anyone there knows how to properly fix a divot mark.. or doesnt care.. I wish they would take more care of them.. all in all it was a good day.

For a 6000 yard track the layout is enjoyable. I expected the kukuya fairways to be thin in spots but the greens are in the worst condition I have seen at La Mirada. There are so many very thin spots... Continue »

For a 6000 yard track the layout is enjoyable. I expected the kukuya fairways to be thin in spots but the greens are in the worst condition I have seen at La Mirada. There are so many very thin spots on the greens its not much better than putting on aerated greens. Hopefully aerating the greens at the end of September will help. For the money the course is usually worth playing.
