Played Saturday, 5/29 at 10:20, $45.50 rack rate (no online specials available). 5 1/2 hour round was a long grind, mostly due to the fact that they allow five-somes. This was my first time here, and I came in not expecting much. The course did not wow me at all, but I was not disappointed either. Conditions were OK, there were many tight, bare lies in the fairways but plenty of lush areas too. Many patches of kikuyu that will kill any roll from your tee shots and make for sticky approach shots. Greens were very slow, but rolled true, and there weren't many unrepaired ball marks. Only one water hazard (#10), and not much OB, so not many chances to lose balls. Bunkers were surprisingly great, my favorite feature of the course. Some gimmicky holes (especially #16), but otherwise pretty straight-forward. Shot my best round ever, but didn't feel a real sense of accomplishment due to the lack of defense this course offers. Good confidence-builder if you're looking to go low. Will probably play here again, but next time on a weekday in hopes of a quicker round.

Played 5/22 afternoon. Course condition was good from tee to green. Some holes fairways look narrow from the tee but most of the fairways are wide. Hole #16 Par 5 is very funky design cause second or third shot you have to aim high over the hill where the green is located. Very crowed but for the price and the condition of the course can't beat. The course is not very long so for the high to mid handicapers it is good place to play and learn the game. La Mirada G.C. greenskeepers, keep up your great job!!

Coming off winter the course is in decent shape. The greens are in good condition. They roll smooth with medium speed. The fairways are in good shape with a few thin spots but not bare. The rough is fair only because the thickness varies widely. The tee boxes are also fair. The bunkers are poor because there is not enough sand in many of them. For a county course that gets as much play as it does the conditions are worth the green fees. The layout is also enjoyable. Play early if you want a fast round.

I played last thursday and teed off at 6:35am. I walked and played for about 4 hours and 30 minutes. There was no delay in game after a couple of holes. The fairways and roughs were too wet, that issue will probably be solved if you play little later than 8 am. I really liked the conditions of the greens. They were pretty smooth and not too bumpy. Overally the course was easy to play. There were no tough hole, mostly straight and short. this is a great public course with low green fee and easy to walk.

Teed off at 6:30am and finished in 4 hours. For a muni course it is in decent condition. The greens rolled well with medium fast speed. The only minor draw back to the small greens is they are too firm. The fairways are a little thin in a few spots but not terrible. The rough can be thick or thin. A few of the tee boxes are somewhat beat up. The bunkers look great but are very thin with sand. At least the two bunkers I landed in where thin of sand.

Although La Mirada is not the longest course it is fun to play and the small greens ad some challenge. La Mirada is a busy golf course. If you want to play fast tee off early.

IF YOU WANT TO PLAY UNDER 5 HOURS GET YOUR ASS UP EARLY AND TEE OFF EARLY DON'T BLAME ANY COURSE FOR LONG ROUNDS. WE PLAYED ONE 5+ ROUND LAST YEAR. COURSE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE FROM TEE TO GREEN. WAS IN TWO TRAPS AND THEY WHERE FINE. IF WE CAN JUST GET THESE PEOPLE TO FIX DIVOTS AND RAKE THE TRAPS.

I will NEVER, NEVER, NEVER play this course again. I played a few months ago and the pace was great and had no problems. The i heard it takes forever to play and i didnt believe it since i played in 4 hours one day. So i went during the week and i had prior arrangements later in the day. we went out at 10am and all there were was 5-somes on the course. Was so slow. Took almost 2 hours to finish 4 holes. When i got to number 5 tee there were 2 groups on the tee and one group on the green. I left my group and tried to get a raincheck and the lady and guy in the clubhouse were really rude bout saying no. They said that pace of play is generally slow and i told them then to post a sign. My friends that i left finished at bout 4pm. 6 hours!!! I will never waste that time. I can go to temecula, play, and come back home in 6 hours and guess what. the course would be way better then la mirada which is in fair shape, but not anywhere near great. lots of work and make your tee times a couple minutes more apart from each other

Almost 6 hours to play! That is unacceptable! There is nothing about this course which should cause play to be that slow. (Except for the fact that EVERY group is a 5-some, and the type of players who were playing.) I like this fun little course, but I don't know that I will punish myself again with a 6 hour experience. I'm not capable of maintaing focus for that long!
