Played 7/6/2013 with my wife. Very much enjoyed the day, played in 4 hours 15 minutes. The course was in very good shape and the greens where consistent across the entire 18. Very nice staff and the marshal's where doing a very good job at keeping the pace up, without being pushy.

Played today, had a 10:30 reservation, but the course was not busy and we teed off around 10:15 as a threesome after a single joined us. Course is in very good shape, except it was over watered in many spots in fairways. Greens were excellent, quick and true, requiring paying full attention to recognizing the grains. One big complaint: we were following a foursome which in turn was following a twosome and a threesome. Understandably, the foursome in front of us started to have a large gap between them and the threesome in front of them, which turned into a minimum of a hole, hole-and-a-half about half way through the front nine. We were hopeful that they would eventually let us play through, as we had lengthy wait on just about every shot, but that never took place. What was frustrating was that the "course ambassadors" came by and saw what was happening a number of times but never approached the group in front of us to let us play through, even after we pointed out to him about the gap they had in front of them. Rather, the ambassador spent time feeding a flock of geese that abound the back nine and picking up trash - nice. Long story short, we ended up with a 5 hours and 45 minutes round that could easily have been a four hour round. The twosome that was behind us gave up somewhere in the back nine and left the course - what a shame.

Played this course on a Saturday, which was my first mistake! Not only was I waiting at every shot for the group in front to clear, I also had a 15 minute delay on Hole 10 so the bride and groom could take some pictures! WTF!!! I must have stumbled upon the final round of the US Open because the foursome in front of my group sure took there time judging their putts and lining up those 45 footers for par! Needless to say, I won't be frequenting this course on a Saturday any time soon!

CHECK-IN: Staff is not the friendliest (Trip), but they are doing their job in keeping guests teeing off on time. We played on Friday 5/3 at 12:00 p.m., which with the wind made things very interesting and challenging. FAIRWAYS/ROUGH: The course conditions are top-notch right now. The fairways were pristine with great lies every time. Some holes (e.g., #4) have pretty tight and narrow fairways, so driver isn't usually the best option (for me). The course is not particularly long, so I opted with a club of 220 to 240 off the box, kept me in play with easy approach shots to their beautiful greens. Of the times I found the rough, it still gave me decent lies and didn't require me to adjust for a flyer lie. GREENS/BUNKERS: Most pristine and beautifully kept greens for a public course this time of year. I didn't see any un-repaired pitch marks (kudos for those fixing their marks). They are fast and roll so true. I highly recommend to practice your putting on the practice green to get a feel of the speed and breaks. Our partner failed to do so and had 6 three-putts and 3 four-putts for the round. These greens are wonderful right now and the course itself is challenging to protect par. All green side bunkers that I found myself in were in great shape, except for the last one on #17 (someone didn't rake the bunker)--but I can't fault the course for this. It's just poor etiquette by fellow golfers playing in front of us. PACE/OVERALL: Pace was also great! We finished in exactly 4:00 hours. The marshall was very friendly and related how much work they have been putting into their greens. Overall, this course is a 9/10. Go Play!

Played this past saturday afternoon. The course is in very nice shape. The greens are rolling great and the fairways are lush. Bunkers had plenty of sand in them, though some were not cleanly raked. Tee boxes need some work but overall the course is in great shape.

As for POP, it took almost 6 hours to complete the round. It got so bad in the back 9, there were 3-4 groups waiting at the tee box, on a par 4. It took a lot away from what was otherwise very good golf conditions, from the course condition itself to the weather. If I ever decide to come here again, it'll be early morning.

POP was great yesterday, Thu. 4/25, I have plyed this course probably 40 times, probably just 2-4 of those, were under 4 and half hours and thats during the week! we never waited on one shot! Carts need some work. Not recommended on weekends. Course was in good shape.

Played 3/24. Not a big fan. Food and pro shop guy good. Putting green/chipping with an enclosed driving net about 30yards deep. Greens well kept, a little slow. Sand excellent, plenty of it, a little heavy, but no rocks and probably will be nice and fluffy in summer. Fairways still pretty dormant and thin. Rough very spotty from thick clumps to bare to normal. Marigolds and daisies growing in some of the rough. Tees while "level" need to be rolled, pretty bumpy. Decent GPS with ticker of sports scores at bottom. Problem is it kept beeping at us on par 3s to allow the next group to hit up. Problem was the first par 3 they weren't yet behind us and second par 3 we were already done. Mildly annoying because it kept doing it. Hole 16 is a cool hole, nice looking par 3 up against mountains. Not to hilly for what you may think of for the area with decent views of the surrounding mountains. Many tight fairways and some blind shots or should I say," where the heck am I supposed to be aiming?" shots.
My problem with this course is its American Golf. A 5+ hour round with dangerous golfers is not my idea of a good day. 2 Marshals sat atop a hill where they could see four or five holes and were there our entire way through just BSing. Play was very very slow and the back and forth fairways caused a lot of ducking behind our carts because people were constantly hitting out of our fairways. The group behind us was so bad that we constantly waited for them to clear our fairway, after waiting for groups in front of us, then getting hit into by them while we were waiting for the greens to clear. Almost had some incidents. One time a different group from the other adjacent fairway hit a bad shot out of OUR fairway so dropped ANOTHER ball in OUR fairway to hit again. Are you kidding me!? And they allow fivesomes of drunk morons out there too.
Don't think for a minute this isn't a regular occurrence here. I'm sure it is, especially from my conversation with another group that played here a lot.
This isn't an awful course though, just not my preference, it just seems to be typical of all the courses in this area which is why I drive to the IE or Palm Springs every weekend.

Played San Dimas on 2/7 (Thur.) around 11. POP is always an issue here, for our threesome, I consider our 4.75 hour round good, tell you anything about POP? Our group had a discussion about why POP play here is so bad, one said fivesomes are allowed, I say it is incorrect club selection. I am not a long hitter, yet I only use driver on one of the par 5's, the other par 5's have short dog legs, that require less club, otherwise you will be driving blind and searching for your ball. Wheather it's fivesomes or club selection or something else, I do not reccomend this course, if you are going out with less than a foursome.

This course is always in very good condition, always plenty of real sand, level T's, and right now excellent greens.

Trip and the rest of the crew here are very friendly and accomodating, with the exception of the bar service, rather have a drink somewhere else.

All in all, a great course, grab a foursome and have fun.

Played here on 1/19/13. Tee time was 8:28am but got out closer to 9am. On top of that, they jam as many people in as possible. This made for a ridiculously long round of more waiting than playing(6+hrs) and it's not a long course. The only nice aspect of this course is the condition of the greens. They are fast and smooth, however, by the placement of the pins you would think it was Sunday at the US Open. Four or five were placed on crests of hills or in the middle of a severe slope so that if you didn't drill the cup, your ball would slowly trickle back 12 feet towards you. To make things worse, people were not giving up after a few failed attempts at bunker hill. This resulted in a huge backup on the par threes. Imagine one group refusing to pick up, one group 50 yards from the tee box(80 yards to the green) waiting to hit on from a failed tee shot, one group waiting to tee off, and three groups spectating from carts waiting in line. Can you say cluster F? The layout is also frustrating. Did I mention the wait is at the intersection of holes 1,2,7,8,17, and 18 - yes, you read that right. You can imagine the chatter that goes on with this many people waiting around. Great practice for distractions when your at the Open this year. Add to this some narrow fairways, blind water, severe doglegs with no distinction between rough and fairway to guide you, and bizarre fairway tree placements that will penalize good tee shots and you have San Dimas. Some highlights: cart lady came around plenty of times, sand in bunkers was soft and fluffy, again, greens were in nice condition, and gps in carts is a bonus. One note about the gps, it didn't show distance to the group ahead and that is crucial during slow play. Also, the sponsorship message after every hole that you have to click ok to is a bit much. Funny thing, after paying my buddy noticed that on the receipt they offer a discount for your next round. Now I know why. They need every reason to get you to come back. Personally, I don't care if it's free. I won't drive out there to subject myself to that again. There are much better courses, stay away unless you're prepping for the Open.
