Played 7-20/Sun. San Dimas is in excellent shape, w the exception of a few tee boxes. This course will test every club in your bag and if you can't read greens, you will be better off playing elsewhere. The greens here are challenging. The layout is such that you cannot mindlessly pull driver off every tee - it pays to really think about strategy. The service here is efficient and very good. There's a lot of trouble left and right here, so if you're fairly crooked, this isn't your course.

Played a Sunday twilight round not much changed since my last review, but a single joined our threesome, it was not until late in the round that I noticed a Greenskeeper tag on his bag, first time I've come across someone from the community. Edgar was a lot a fun to play with, I was impressed with not only the length of his drives, but with his accuracy. Feel free to join us any time you want.

Really enjoy the new carts. Plenty of un-raked bunkers and unrepaired ball marks on the greens, for how good of shape the greens are in, you would think the golfers would do their part in keeping them in shape. Too bad.

Played a twilight round on Tuesday 6/24, this is my home course, I play several times a month here and I am always happy with the conditions and the service, pop can be a challenge at times.

Aside from pop my biggest complaint was the carts, they would let off this annoying beeping sound that was becoming more and more common. That's all changed now, they have BRAND NEW CARTS!! Thank you so much.

Greens-9
T's-8
Fairways-7; some brown spots from the heat, but never a bad lie.
Rough- 5; same as the fairways x2
Sand-8; always have sand in them, sometimes too much.
Layout-7; fun canyon golf.

Played Tuesday 5/20/14 in the morning. Course was in pretty good shape. The fairways were nice, only had one pretty bare lie. Rough was kinda long but not too punishing. I was in 2 bunkers, one was pretty nice with plenty of sand, the other was pretty hard underneath but could have been fixed with a good raking job. Greens were pretty good, just a few ball marks here and there. Pace of play was pretty slow. Finished in under 5 hours, but had to sit and wait on every single shot - not the courses fault, more the slow players. It's a cool course with a fun layout. Good rates can be found online at discount sites.

This is basically my home course, I am always pleased with the condition of the course. The difference between having an ok round here and having I love it round, is pace of play. Today was a I love it day. It rained up until a half hour before our start time, then the sun came out and all the players stayed home, pace of play was the best since Christmas day. Very rare to have less than a four hour round, enjoyed it so much.

Greens: medium-fast, with moist greens on the front, as they dried became quicker.
T's: very nice, no complaints.
Fairways: Good shape and they drained well.
Bunkers: plenty of sand, wet, heavy, un-groomed because of rain.
Rough: short not hard to get out of.
Layout: love it, but it causes slow play if you don't play target golf.

Played yesterday afternoon, finally, my first round of 2014. The weather was great, and the course was not crowded. Cruised around the front nine pretty quick and hooked up with the assistant general manager of the course Brian.
Very nice guy, and fun to play the rest of the way in. He hit some great iron shots and really knew the breaks of the greens. A knowledge that is needed on this course. It is a fun layout, but some experience playing the course would go a long way in being able to score. Very relaxing experience with the deer on the course and the canyon quietness. The only houses are along the left side of the ninth tee and keeps you from cutting the corner.
The course is in quite good shape, although there were some patchy areas along the fairways, and many a divot along the way. The greens were in great condition and can be tricky. Really hard to stop the downhillers and uphill it was hard to hit it hard enough to get it to the hole without that last break taking the ball offline enough for a miss. ok, I four putted once and three putted twice. haha, if it weren't for the par threes I would have had a decent score.
Only a couple un level tee areas, but I was impressed with the course. Bunkers were very good, but the kids need to start raking and fixing their ball marks on the greens. The carts have a nice gps with some good advice on each hole. Good value for the afternoon rate. It is very close to where I live, I will need to visit more often.

Haven't played here in quite a few years. Course conditions were actually pretty good, considering not much rain this winter season. The greens were in excellent shape. I just don't play here enough to figure out the speed and breaks. My only complaint was pace of play - 6 hours. I saw a marshal a few times throughout the day - doing absolutely nothing. But I can't really blame him, per se. It's just typical American Golf packing in as many tee times as they can get. 5-somes and all. If you can deal with the slow play, this is actually a great place to check out.

It has been over 5 years since the last time I played SD. I used to play here often when I first started playing and always enjoyed it. For the higher handicap golfer, this is a great course to grow from. The course conditions were very good. Lush fairways and lightning fast greens that when pins were in certain locations on the greens they bordered on unfair. Local knowledge would go a very beneficial to scoring well here. Although we were paired with a course marshall on his day off who says he played there often and he seemed to have just as much trouble on the greens as I did so...
My group missed our morning tee time by 20 min but the starter was super cool to get us out when he did. So for a Service rating they get 5 stars. Overall I can't remember playing here while the conditions were better, but outside of the potential 5 hr+ round, I would recommend getting on whenever you can. I hope I get a chance to play here again soon.
