Played a free birthday round on Sat, May 13...Course in decent conditions after the recent aeration...Greens are sandy and slow as expected, but the bunkers were inconsistent and had rocks and pebbles in some of them, not sure why...First time playing here and love the layout and mountain backdrop...Reminds me a little of Badlands in Las Vegas...If you like target golf you'll love Angeles National...Gotta keep it in the fairways or it's easy to lose balls here with all the ESA's...

Played 4/28, 11:50 t-time. Course is in great shape, greens are fast and true. $65.00 after 11:00 am is a good deal, and we played in 4.5 hrs.

My wife and I played this course on Tuesday, 4/25, for the first time. What a pleasure. The course is in great shape and we found the greens to be fast and true. The course is a real challenge and is very penal for errant shots. Accuracy and proper club selection are a must. Can not wait to return.

Played here 2PM on 4/15/06, reasonable price, nice layout. Only complaint is tough to find golf balls. Can't really see where the ball is running into with all the slope and hazards. Lost a lot of balls. Greens are like US open. Most area are brown color. Fast green, a tap went pass hole like 5 feet. Only wish there are more water to play.

Played friday 3/24. Course in good shape, greens a little thin. 5 PLUS hours for the round. Not sure why they have martials since all they do if ride around the cart path and wave. Guys in front of us were marking every 12 inch putt they had. The free birthday thing is great unless your birthday falls on a fri/sat/sun in which case you have to tee off after 12 to get it. Good layout but pricey for a place with no clubhouse to speak of.

Me and a friend played ANGC for the first time today. I have mixed emotions about our experience.

Pros: Can't beat playing for free on your birthday (it was my bro's birthday today). Greens/Fairways in great shape. I hardly saw any divots. Greens were fast. Service was good. Impressed with the food. Excellent chicken sandwich in the grill room. GPS was accurate. Our threesome saw a deer run through the fairway.

Cons: A little pricey for the area. I can't see paying a $100 on the weekend. I was not really impressed with the lay out. After awhile all the holes looked alike to me. However, I am impressed what they did with a dried up river bed. Which leads to my next comment-the natural habitat areas. There is not much habitat in those areas-its a dried up river bed. Greens were so firm that anything over a 9 iron has a tough time staying on. You have to play below the hole and allow for some roll. Not many bail out areas. My bro lost 13 balls today.
