They better not raise the green fees here given the baked out greens and fairways due to water restriction it's definitely not worth the full green fees much less the proposed new green fees which are supposed to be double what they are now...Will not be back if rates go up in June as scheduled due to clubhouse opening next month...Given the economy, they should be reducing green fees here not increasing them to attract more golfers instead of alienating them...Do the right thing or suffer the consequences!

Played on Friday Dec. 29th...Course was jam packed, couldn't find a parking space in the parking lot, had to park on the street...Showed up around 11:30am for our 11:56 tee time, didn't tee off til 12:30pm, only played 15 holes...They were charging holiday rates for the past week since the Friday before Christmas...It's a good thing I booked it online using my Country Club membership to save over 70% off regular holiday rates! Like I mentioned before, two of my buddies almost got hit again standing on the tee box, this is a very dangerous course and had to wait on every hole...Six hour rounds are the norm here, probably not worth the green fee since they sent out so many fivesomes and lots of beginners as well...The worst part is that management doesn't seem to give a crap about pace of play here, the marshalls here do absolutely nothing to enforce pace of play...Will not return at any price!!!
GOLFERS BE WARE! It's very easy to get hit at this course since all the holes parallel each other and there are plenty of errand shots all over the course...One of my buddies was nailed on the back on the 6th green from someone teeing off on the 3 par 7th hole last time and this time it was my turn...Almost got hit three or four times last Wednesday playing in the afternoon by the group behind us and was finally nailed near the 14th fairway by one of my playing partners of all people from about 80 yards away as he shanked a three wood going for the green from 265 yards while I stood behind a tree in front of the lake on the right side of the fairway...The ball one-hopped and hit my left forearm then bounced off my left cheek...Ouch! He's taking me out for a free round of golf next week...Lucky it didn't hit my eye or temple or else I'd be laid out for sure as hard as he hits the golf ball with a wood...FORE!!!!
Teed off right before 12 noon today as a twosome and finished in about 4.5 hrs...Tee boxes have recovered nicely from the recent overseeding and are in good condition and level for the most part...Greens are fast and putt true as usual...The carte girl drove by four or five times and does a great job...This is a fun course to play, as long as you can drive the ball straight and keep it in play, then you can go low and shoot a career round here with multiple birdie/eagle opportunities...Will be back next week!
Teed off around 10:30am today and got stuck behind a fivesome of walkers and made it a long day...Had to wait on almost every hole after the first hole and long waits on par 3's and even some par 4's...Never saw a Marshall until the last hole...Course conditon is fairly decent considering the amount of play it gets at this busy muni...But a five hour plus round during the middle of the week is simply too long...
Really need to have the Marshalls sitting at the par 3's and enforcing the pace of play...The group in front never waved us on after reaching the green on any of the par 3's...Guess they can't read or just don't care...What a shame as it slowed everyone behind us as well...
Tee off right before 2pm today using my Country Club membership to save over 60%...They just aerated the greens last week and it showed...The greens have big holes and quite a bit of sand on them...I'd wait at least two weeks for the greens to recover...There's quite a bit of construction going on as well, not sure why...They closed off most of the area surrounding the clubhouse and have detours for the first and tenth tee...Not really worth the full green fee right now, but it's still a nice course if you don't mind sandy greens!
Played today around noon for the Tuesday special including a steak lunch...Tee boxes are horrible with many bare spots and many not level...Some greens are diseased and have fungus(sage) in many spots...Fairways are OK but kinda thin and bare in some spots...Rough is ok...Would not return until they start taking better care of the greens and the course...
Played Wed. 6-7-06 using my Country Club membership to save over 60%...Teed off right before 2pm and finished a quarter after 6pm...Good overall conditions as usual except the greens seem a bit slow today, not sure why...Still a fun day and a good test...Drove it OB again on #16...For some reason this hole has my number...Will be back again soon!
Played a free birthday round on Sat, May 13...Course in decent conditions after the recent aeration...Greens are sandy and slow as expected, but the bunkers were inconsistent and had rocks and pebbles in some of them, not sure why...First time playing here and love the layout and mountain backdrop...Reminds me a little of Badlands in Las Vegas...If you like target golf you'll love Angeles National...Gotta keep it in the fairways or it's easy to lose balls here with all the ESA's...
Played on Wed, 5/10 using my membership for only $15 including cart...Course in great conditions right now...Greens are rolling smoothly and putts true, about an 8 on the stimp meter...
Shot my career low round of 84 today with 3 birdies and 4 pars...(I'm a 21 handicap) Had a chance to break 80 but took a triple bogey on Hole #16.(Drove it OB) Oh well, still had lots of fun and won 13 skins, another career best...Guess my birthday came 3 days early...Best part about this course is it's not busy at all during mid week and midday...
Will be back!!!
Teed off before 2pm today and finished in about 4.5 hrs...Breezed through the front nine but the back nine was kinda slow...Greens have recovered nicely from the recent aeration, a bit slow but not too bad...Fairways and rough are decent and so are the tee boxes and the bunkers...Not a bad value since they include a T-Bone lunch on Tuesdays for only $27...Wide open course off the tee so you can just grip it and rip it all day long...
Now if only I can make a birdie putt I'd be a real player!!! Will be back next week...
Played Friday the 21st as a threesome paying only $39 using my Country Club membership...(formerly known as Tiger Team) Two of us were first timers at the Quarry and what a spectacular setting! The greens were being aerated 2 holes a week for about five weeks now, that was actually a blessing in disguise since we played in 25+ mph winds in the afternoon and it felt like a U.S. Open qualifying round or better yet, a British Open round...Absolutely loved Hole #14, best Par 3 in So. Sal bar none!!! A must play for all golfers...
Course conditions are very good except for the sanded greens and a few bunkers...Had a great time and what a challenge it is to conquer the ROCK!!!
